You missed the point entirely on the second trans character disappointment. They weren't mad because she was trans, they were mad because she lied to them. If she had been honest from the start or never said anything at all, things would have played differently.

The part around 32:00 when he talks about Mulan, it reminds me of the world view many conservatives have: societal problems should not be fixed by striving for change, instead the individual is responsible for overcoming them. So in this case it would mean that the society excluding women isn't anything negative, and that the disadvantaged individuals have to "pull themselves up hy their own bootstraps".

Recent subscriber here, I've been binge watching your retrospective videos about the shows I remember watching because my parents watched them in the 80s lol I'd love to see you do a video of Night Court! It's in the same vein of Cheers set in the scene of (obviously) a Court room, but it was funny and went on for a few seasons. Or a video on Hillstreet Blues, I think it's a cop show but I have to reach far back in my mind for the vaguest of memories

I used to be a film critic / reviewer over a decade ago. I just came back to writing about films recently And this whole landscape of you tube reviewers is just weird to me. This critical drinker from what little of his "work" I've seen is not a reviewer but a poser. He knows absolutely nothing about .movies and his reviews are basically barely coherent maniacal monologues . He hates movies and pretends to be a fan so that He can cloak his fury in acceptable levels of grievance . The man needs to be in a psychiatrists office not a movie theater. The Critical Drinker gets a big thumbs down. Ill.see you at the movies.

3:00 I remember Jackson Hinkle from years ago when I first went from being a Democrat to a leftist. He did pretty decent coverage on leftist topics. The thing that bugged me about the revival episode about the grandson's clothes bugged me because all I could think was "what makes you old farts think you know what elementary school is like nowadays in the first place?" Why are the grandparents so sure they know how kids act? Especially when it's obvious they haven't been a huge part of their lives from the beginning." I see my family reflected in this, I'm Darlene's age w/ overbearing parents and teen/preteen kids, and the one thing I've noticed is that each generation has gotten increasingly more tolerant and accepting of differences. Maybe in Dan's day guys dressed like that would get beat up, but in the current age, that grandkid is probably not going to be the only kid dressed "funny" at school. I was surprised that never got pointed out in the episode, that the generations have changed not "the bully will get bored of it" which is another way of saying "I'll get used to being beat up"

I never watched this show (probably because I was born in the 90s) but I know the main star and he’s hilarious. This is a show from a much less politically charged time compared to now.
