    What size gap do you have around the stove sides and back

  • @warrentomlinson3320

    I have this stove. When cleaning it out I discovered some threaded metal bars mixed up in the ash, one 3 inch and the other 6 inches long. I have been researching on the net to try to find out if the bars have fallen off the stove itself because I can't understand where else they could be from. I am left wondering if the stove is safe to use now? Have you ever heard of this?

    I use "top down" AND "bottom up" simultaneously to start my home-made wood burner. I ignite the top only, to allow the chimney to heat up and as the embers fall through the stack of kindling then the bottom ignites. This method gives me a completely smoke free fire very quickly, with the door closed. Of course the fire starter stack, I call it, is surrounded by large dry logs that will burn for at least 90 minutes or more before adding more fuel.

    We've purchased the stove at the start of 2020 but have only just got round to installing it. Great little stove but it seems that the nut holding the handle lock piece in place loosens on use of the handle, which means we're not getting a proper seal on the door. Any thoughts on how to stop this happening?

      I've just ordered one of these stoves so can't speak from experience here but you can use a product called Loctite. I am not sure how heat might affect it but if I have the same problem when I get mine that's what I will use. Here is a link...not sure if the heat will affect it but you can give it a try.. :-) www.amazon.co.uk/Loctite-2259681-Sealant-5g-Maintains-Transparent/dp/B07BP9JPC9/ref=asc_df_B07BP9JPC9/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=294749801516&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13121544785425588050&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046203&hvtargid=pla-731478047431&psc=1&th=1&psc=1

    I prefer the top down approach where you put large logs at base, then smaller, kindling and natural fire lighters at the top. Light, close the door, and twenty minutes later you have a roaring fire, minimal soot / smoke and you won't need to top it up for another hour or so

  • @Sunshine_day

    What is the stove manufacturer and model?

  • @allanxxx8789
    @allanxxx8789 Před 6 lety

    Tip 1...Don't use newspaper..Why? cos it creates soot, which will blacken your glass, and soot up your flue.Instead use natural fire lighters made of straw and sawdust.Tip 2.. Don't use an oven mitten..Why? cos they are heat retardant, not fire retardant and have no fingers , use a proper fire proof glove with fingers.
