G'day Everyone!
Do you like working on cars or understanding how it all comes together? Or just wish someone would share their experience of attempting to DIY repair and modify cars?
Someone that could make the mistakes so you could avoid them or point them out?
For the longest time I have enjoyed working on cars and struggled with the limited knowledge I have when I came across the thought that if I'm having these problems then it is very possible somebody somewhere out there is going through the same thing or about to in the future.
Wouldn't it be great if they had something to reference to help them out no matter how specific the issue?
While there is plenty of fantastic information already on CZcams I hope to add pieces of information I notice missing in a way that is some parts informative and other parts just easy to watch.
Hope I have something to offer you whether it be information, laughs or even just a way to destress or get motivated.

Mazda MX5 NB8A Engine Removal
Hi Everyone, in this one I'm removing the engine (BP4W) non VVT from the MX-5 (NB8A) with the transmission using an engine crane.
It might be useful to you if you want to tackle this job I managed to do it without missing a single wire or connection! I make plenty of mistakes in the actual lifting of the engine though but all in all it was fun for my first time removing an engine.
Note it is really a good idea to have the front bumper off the car as the engine crane likes to move forward during the lifting phase and might damage the bumper.

Hi Everyone, in this one I'm removing the cylinder head from the MX-5 (NB8A) while the engine is still in the car. It might be useful to you if you are certain all you have is a blown headgasket and a skim of the cylinder head at an engine shop. I'm doing the absolute minimum for this one! Shoulda adjusted valves also
Don't use ryco filters. They are overpriced junk made in China by G.U.D. as many rebrands are. Honda genuine air, then fleetguard or mann for the rest. O.E.M can filters are often made by fram,G.U.D or champion (Indonesia). Mann and fleetguard filter for jazz is half the price of ryco and is far superior in quality.

Hey great video of the install! You say you got the head unit moulding from ebay? I am really struggling to find one that doesnt include a screen already?? What did you search to find this item?

Great video! While I've already done this install with almost the exact same radio, it's good to get a review of the install, especially since I wanna stick my radio out a little further so the bezel actually stays in place rather than always be popping out. Cheers!

Hi I just bought a 2010 Honda Jazz gli but I don't have any control button on the steering wheel. Did you install it or did it come with it?
I think only the VTi and VTi-S models came with audio system control buttons on the steering wheel
Does changing the transmission fluid this way on a manual work as well?

Wow, changing the spark plugs is a pretty big job. It's a 10 to 15 minute job to do the same thing on a Yaris. That Jazz takes a lot more effort, skill and time. Great video, thanks for sharing.
at what point does he do that ?
@@marvin2678 At whatever point scheduled maintenance requires the spark plugs changed, or when required to rectify a cylinder misfire. The point being, with some designs it is a straight forward and simple task, with others, for example that require manifold removal and other component disassembly to access the spark plugs, it's a more complex task. The Toyota Yaris as referred, is a simple job to replace spark plugs and or ignition coil packs.

Hi There. I have a 2014 Honda Fit with a CVT. The car is nine years old, but only had 12000 miles on the clock. The transmission oil has never been changed. Should I change it? Many thanks!
That CVT fluid should be change every 40,000 KM or 2 years.
You should also inspect/adjust your valve clearances and replace the valve cover gasket when removing the cowl for spark plugs. Good vid.
Only if the tappets are noisy.

how to know the transmission if it is CVT non CVT
I believe the easiest way to spot is by looking at what gear lever. Traditional autos have D, D3, 2 and 1. Where as the CVT should have D, S and L

Very true! possible to buy a no brand headunit that has Apple Carplay and then splice the wires instead of buying a wiring harness. Probably half the cost!
Why did you want an Automatic?
I think I would prefer a manual as this is the only automatic I own (it probably would have been cheaper if there was a manual available at the time). In short Covid had just caused issues with the 2nd hand market but I needed a car ASAP.
I got an 09 Jazz today and I love it but I'm afraid of doing the valve adjusting😣
That's next on my list to tackle! Can be daunting opening up the engine. Might be worth leaving it alone.

There are two Engine Coolant Temperature sensors; ECT 1 and ECT 2. ECT 1 is located on the cylinder head below the throttle body and ECT 2 is located at the bottom of the radiator
Did it come with the USB adapter or did you have to buy that separately?
Bought that seperately from them. Comes with the serial connection.

Hey man, this video helped me a lot with installing my own display! I was wondering, what did you do with the passenger airbag button? Did you just plug the button back in and left it hanging behind the head unit? If I don't plug it in the red airbag light comes on once I turn on the car.
Hey glad it helped. Looks like Australian version of these cars don't have that feature. If it were me I'd probably try and cut the new fascia to mount the button is a similar spot as OEM if I were faced with that issue definitely don't want to leave it unplugged though.
what would one connect the blue wire of the antenna with? hope for a quick reply, as my dashboard is disassembled and i need to put it together soon...
I did not use the blue wire. I taped it with electrical tape. My understanding is that wire is used for cars that have old style antennas that go up when the radio is turned on.
@@YuyuJitekiGarage i thoght so too but then i researched more and saw that even if its not a mechanical antenna that goes up, the amplification provided does make the reception much much better... i researched some more and it seems that i simply need to attach it to the "remote control" cable, which is blue with a white line. ill just try it out and see if it works. anyway, thanks for the quick reply
All of these work you've done here.. does it need to perform a relearning / idle relearning to the ecu?
I did nothing to the ECU but did disconnect the battery. No issues over a year +
@@YuyuJitekiGarage I just bought my 2nd hand Jazz GE 1.3 AT this december, the seller said I need to perform a relearning using a scanner because they fixed a solenoid and didn't do a relearning. Anyways i brought it to a mechanic and made a tune up, change atf, change oil, and scan + relearn and reset. all good.
good job. my ge8 has an engine cold start noise, do u have the same problem.
Not that I've noticed, sounds a bit louder when it is cold but nothing that I would call unusual.
Hi how did u fix the boot Leak?
Got lucky mine was leaking through the seal that goes around the hatch opening I just adjusted it. I've heard it can leak through the seams in the chassis where it the rain rails end at the top of the hatch though.
Very good video, well done, but It is not necessary to dismantle anything to change the spak plugs. You can access them from the left side. Not easy, but it is possible. I changed them in about 40 minutes.
