Pyramid/ピラミッド (Nec Pc-6001, 1983, Magicsoft)
This is Pyramid/ピラミッド for Nec Pc-6001 and it's a game where you have to shoot one of the enemies that appear on the layer of the pyramid. When shoot one of them they will leave a spot for you to pick up which will add an extra layer to build the pyramid. Once it's done the game loops back, but the number of enemies increase and if you get caught then your energy bar will deplete. After it's empty you will explode and its game over. This is an interesting concept of a game that I have never seen before however this game was made by Hudson Soft believe it or not because the box cover art had the brand name Magicsoft that's used in a similar way of font that Hudson Soft would use for producing the Game's Box Cover. It is a fun game to play, and you should try it out for a challenge.

This is Polar Star III/ポーラースターIII for the Legendary and Lost IBM JX the reason I say it in that way is because this version is hard to find these days. Not only that but this version was released in November 1984 while the IBM JX was released on October 29, 1984, and it flopped as it sold only 40,000 units sadly discontinuing in 1987 so Happy 40th Anniversary to this computer and game. Never made it to the U.S. because Commodore's deal with NAMCO only applied to Japan; in the U.S. the Rally-X arcade game was marketed by Bally Midway, so when Commodore brought the game over here, it had to be re-programmed, thus turning it into Radar Rat Race, which also added the cat-and-mouse chase theme.
I played Radar Rat Race before and I thought it was a clone the moment I played it. It look similar to another game that I believe was released on the Nec Pc-8001MkII
@@retro-rock3067 Commodore also had problems in the U.K. with its Pac-Man clone, Jelly Monsters, which was blocked from release by Atari, which had the home rights to the Pac-Man license. Likewise with Galaxian, which Commodore released as Star Battle outside of Japan.
@@retro-rock3067 What is interesting is that the VIC-20 release of Galaxian (Star Battle in the U.K. and U.S.) was programmed by Satoru Iwata, who later worked for Nintendo.

Thanks Top Retro Games I got this lost version along with the other IBM JX games from Cyb2600. It also has music in the intro but I don’t think it can be heard on the emulator only the real hardware. It took me 2 months and 21 days to get the game working as I was having some issues with it thankfully I talked with one of my friends to see if they can get it to work right as the first time I loaded up I was immediately introduced to a Bad Diskkette Message and I couldn’t play it. I was almost going to give up on it but I didn’t want to as it is a very rare and obscure version that no one has played in 40 years. So I hope you enjoyed the gameplay and thanks for the compliment I really appreciate it ^_^
