This is a beautiful pocket watch, I am a big fan of Gruen watches! In case you don’t already know, the hour hand is a replacement and is mismatched. Not a big deal in my mind and it wouldn’t be difficult to find a replacement set of hands if desired.

Great video! Sorry 2023 too late but I’m in search for a 14060 or a good condition 5513 that’s not overly expensive in Rolex Submariner money. HOWEVER IMO when you take the build quality from a 5513 14060 and put it next to modern ceramic Submariners? Really, these pre-ceramic Submariners SHOULD BE valued less than $5k. Since I just gave up on kissing my AD”s ass for a basic Rolex Sub (going on 3 years no call). Also the hype and grey market (deservendly) is dead and going straight to hell. New used prices for a 2021-2023 Submariner is the same as retail if you low ball these desperate sleazy dealer bastards. So it’s difficult to choose a new 41mm Submariner or a good condition 14060 full set for roughly $9k. But that’s not here or there…. I have done so much research on pre-ceramic via watch meet ups/clubs Red Bar, vintage shops…. I notice a spring bar end is sticking out of one the lugs.

To me it's like a resto-mod car. I love them.

I agree with what you are saying and have knowingly bought redialled watches that I liked that were fairly priced. Another tell on the Omega Constellation dial is that whilst you will find the word “Chronometre” on some watch dials, this dial would originally have said “Chronometer”.

It depends on whether the collector plans on accruing true value and authenticity?The redialer does not ower the price of the watch! Its basicly a forgery or a countrfeit! If you have a great great deal of money and can pass what bascly is fake onto someone else who doesnt know and or doesnt care also and you dont care that your passing on fake watches and you re making money doing it then its up to you!

The problem with Bulova is they won't sell parts outside their service network. Love the Hamilton electric watches. I have a couple of Girard Peraux watches, but they are both quartz. Still trying to find a good mechanical one! I have added Vulcain to the list. I'm wearing a Seiko 5 as I type. It is from 1967 and has never been serviced. I like my Seiko Turtle too, but they are popular and pretty well know. A lot of people don't consider them because they are the product of mass production, but they do what a watch is supposed to do.

I have a 1940s Bulova and an earl 1950 Elgin automatic and both are great .

None of these watches are unknown to watch lovers and their prices do reflect this so I was super pleased you missed my favourite bargain buy brand. Nope I'm not telling you the brand but you can still pick up an Omega quality watch for £150.00 or less every day on E bay... Long may that continue for us cash strapped watch lovers.. Oh ok three clues European, Vintage and versions issued during ww2 command a slightly higher price, sometimes £300.00 plus... Madness and good luck... I'm sure there are other proper hidden gems out there. xx
