On the edge of space, a mining ship, The Ezekiel, finds an uncharted planet that reveals signs of a possible fuel resource. Two crew members undertake a mission to the desolate rock to take samples for later analysis. The mission goes well until they unearth a dark and terrifying truth.

Great job. I've been re-watching this over it's life but never caught the very end's revelation of the "astronaut". How feeble is that? It's nice to see a good production that doesn't use an abandoned factory, warehouse, junk yard, industrial park...as the setting to an apocalypse, world war, or alien invasion. Great props too. 4 and a half out of 5 stars!

No fan of the actor narration. Too effeminate overly working his dialogue. I don' t like it. Just the animation and premise. Wrong casting in my mind tbh. Tnx.😶🤷🏻♀️🇨🇦🌠Nasal guy...bleh.
Now that's a twist. Instead of humans visiting another planet, aliens visited earth long after humans went extinct. The dialogue was so earth like so you wouldn't know until the end when you saw the alien faces. Very unique plot twist. Cleverly done.
I've seen this 4 or 5 times and never caught the image inside the helmet until now. Boy do I feel dumb.

A little warning from the future without being preachy (like the best of sci-fi). I loved the twist at the end with the reveal from the lift of the helmet visor & the skull (& a little nod to 'Alien'). Very contemporary given recent current global affairs on Earth. Well done. The shuttle reminded me of those in Space 1999 (which I loved as a kid). Suspenseful & enjoyable little nugget. Good film.

GOOD STORY ! IF I UNDERSTOOD A CREW OF KIND OF NEANDERTHALS BELONGING TO OTHER PLANET IS EXPLORING A PLANET WHERE KIND OF SAPIENS LIVED (MAYBE EARTH) ...
This is why manned exploration of exoplanets is such a dumb idea. Robots would do it so much better than humans, without the risk.
Seems almost like a part rip off from the Alien movie. Action moves to slow. As with all these stories written by half wit writers, action is slow and the theme is so common as to almost be not worth watching. Always someone gets hurt or killed.

That is a human return old home known as earth. 7.5 billion years, our sun Become a red giant After that transform into interplanetary nebula The center of our solar system become a white dwarf star The Earth our blue planet has gone atmosphere it’s straight away become acting like a moon have no atmosphere the remaining structure bearing in dirt ancient civilization.
The doll... a nice little reference to _"Planet of the Apes"_
I had an inkling as to what would be found when one of the explorers commented on there's some sort of a structure down here.....then went on to show a doll etc. Then the title 'Unearthed' told me what I'd already guessed. Brilliant ending!
There are no words to express about this powerful film about our tomorrow future. If people would have heard Carl Sagan when it was time. I often read the Pale Blue little Dot. But now Earth needs our extinction.

If you're going to make a film about an "unchartered planet" with the twist being that it's a post-apocalyptic Earth far into the future, why would you call it "Unearthed"? Gave away the "surprise" ending and, sadly, made the film predictable from start to finish. Beautifully shot with original direction and photography. 3.6/5.

Why does the sound track have us listen to the drill when in a vacuum no sound waves can propagate? Why do sci-fi entertainments never have any actual sci, and very little fi? Surely someone could do better than this?
One thing is not logic the moon doesn't have gravity how can space ship landing
No, the Moon has long-since receded away from the Earth and escaped the Earth's gravitational influence. This is supposed to be post-apocalyptic *Earth* millions of years after the the atmosphere was blown away and the seas boiled away by whatever catastrophe caused it. Such an Earth, after millions of years with no atmosphere to protect it, would be pockmarked with impact craters for the same reason the Moon, Mars and Mercury looks like they do now.
A good story, but not an award winner. Dialogue could be much better. An old, interesting story, but too drawn out, considering it's basically the same old story.
The producers of this short film seem to be admirers of the film Alien. They made notable references to him but built a very creative work with a surprising ending. The entire production is wonderful and very well cared for. They deserve great recognition for everything they have accomplished in this beautiful work. My admiration from Brazil.
Seeds of creativity are also spores of ingenuity. Untamed, free floating. 💁🏻♀️🇨🇦🌠

Piss poor , , , and typical--common--unorigional-----couldn't think of a story line. Put down the Bong and try to learn the craft. This film is like all the others.
The title, "Unearthed" gave it away. A better title might have been "Uncovered". It was still well done, though and I will give the writers credit for using actual terminology used during the landing sequence that was used during the Apollo missions.
I have a watch this many times. And enjoyed it almost as much as I did the first time I saw it. And you have to ask yourself. Are we looking at our own future?
This is one of the only shorts on here that i actually figured out way ahead of time lol
