It took two years but I finally made it to Southside & to one a place where I had LOTS of requests, The Tickles Table! Best known from the @discovery show, "Moonshiners" Steven & Carol Tickle serve up more than just food and a hearty laugh, but seriously, make room for Carol's cheesecakes!

Man they messed up! You might not be a liver guy but the chicken livers are great. Family went last night, always Dad's favorite place. Like politics we are divided. 2 Catfish specials, 2 chickens liver dinners, and a couple of the hamburgersteaks. Grew up local Dad and I still local are but the other family hasnt been local in 40 years. Traveling to the outer banks when i was a kid(80s) you always said you were from Martinsville, who had ever heard of Ridgeway:). A business owner asked and then said I only know one place in that area Clearances Steakhouse!
I'm down to try anything on that menu! Great story & glad you were able to stop in and fill your tank!

Lobster roll looked good.
Cheese steak meat shouldn’t be ground down to tuna salad. Ruins the texture and flavor. Steak needs to remain in bigger chunks. A good cheese steak with shrimp would be awesome.
Those phillys don’t look so good.
I ate there once as I was passing through. The food was pricey and unexceptional. The employees and other customers were cold and uninterested in dealing with a handicapped traveler passing through. Edible, but I wouldn't bother to ever go back. I managed, but the place is very handicapped unfriendly, particularly the bathroom. Annoying that they don't accept CCs.
I sympathize with your experience, but it IS a whole in the wall grease-pit. Shouldn't expect much for 'special accommodations', if you know what I mean. Either way, I think Logan did a wonderful job bringing this establishment in focus.
@@bigair785 I wasn't grinding an axe or singing praise. Just describing my actual, unromantic but accurate experience so others know just to go to McDonalds instead and not waste time. Also, for the handicapped, to know this is not a good choice. Think Logan makes very well produced videos. He's entitled to present the best possible face of the business and there is no dishonesty in that.
I wish you'd cover some places like this closer to Richmond?

My dad was a pilot. He taught me to fly and to navigate when I was a kid. Some of my favorite memories are of the times we went out, just father and son, for a $100 hamburger. Fly out, have lunch, fly home. It doesn't get any better than that!
