Do you pre-mix the colors with heavy gel medium before putting them in the palette? I see you add more paint directly from the tube.
no, I mix them with the gel on the palette. if more paint appeared somewhere, I simply cut out the moment of replenishment.

I shoot with an iPhone 14. I attach it to a selfie stick, and the stick to a tripod with tape. the phone seems to hang over the table with the canvas.

I was searching for some ideas to try impasto and chanced upon your paintings. I'm a beginner to painting itself...but am good at pencil drawing. So, for my b'day I thought I will try painting and see if I'm any good...and in the past week to this week, I have tried three of your paintings. The first one ended up terrible!😅 Second one was kind of okayish. Third one is again okayish! But am very happy and will definitely continue to try more. Thank you so much...am so happy I found you!
