I liked roadhouse tbh. Felt like one of those 2000 Movies with a bit hard to endure cameramovement. I loved how Jackie Chang talked about and executed his camera style in fightsequences. Definitly worth listining to if you didnt have till now

Watched this with my family and we all enjoyed it. The boys made constant jokes about Connor McGregor playing himself. We liked it.

The plot is as old as time. It's the retired gun fighter rides into town and digs up his guns to fight the bad guys story. They just should have called it something else. Naming it Roadhouse immediately made the OG fans trash it for it's inferiority. I enjoyed it. Connor McGregor's performance was a tad over the top but I guess that's why they hired him.

A fun movie that successfully provides the type of entertainment it's fans want to see. yet it sucks lol. get over yourselves clowns

Dude roadhouse sucked what is this guy talking about. 2024 and it's the worst punching I've ever seen. That's why there camera shake. That information your talking about us processing is the complete trash this movie looked......Jake is my guy though he good still.

Most mediocre fargo season

The bar for this show is set very high, It is as if they take into account that the viewer may have a brain.

Redbar put it the most clearly "I can't believe this was a show made by HBO" This show feels like a TUBI show

Love the show except for the ending. The scriptwriters painted themselves into a corner and offered no plausible resolution to the many plot points they dropped along the way.

I think having this be more of a serial killer out there of indigenous women that were disappearing and ditch all the ghost and polar bear stuff that were just dead ends and confusing this would have ended up being a classic. Loved all the actors and the Alaska setting and overall atmosphere but the plot was a confusing mess.

It was originally a movie that was pitched to HbO and they asked it to be turned into a season of true detective. Also, she admitted that it was a mirror of season 1. So it was rewritten several times just to fit into the true detective box.

Play bad guy was the ninth doctor. The problem was he didn’t appear in ep six at all, and there was no consequences.

Nothing meh about it, it’s straight up garbage; must have been written in crayon by a classroom full of kindergarten kids.

This show is really poorly written and could at least have a redeeming factor of showing us a bit of Alaska as S1 and S3 showed us Louisiana and Arkansas, but they decided ItS TeH NiGhT CoUnTrY so its always dark, and the little we see not even real Alaska, but Iceland. Absolute shit.

This show was immensely confused and confusing and poorly written. Good actors (Jodi Foster) could not save it. And, on another level, it did not continue on in the True Detective tradition. I hated it. I believe the writer's main experience is in writing soap operas, which are highly melodramatic and simplistic. This past shines through in Night Country. Excellent review.

Being such a maternal story, I kind of saw Pete's decision as choosing a parent. Also, I kind of felt Hank was pulling a suicide by cop by raising his weapon. He knew Pete would follow his training. I did see another video floating around that argued that Pete's was the most interesting story. The only epilogue was him lying with his son and the thought that he may, in turn, do what he just did to Hank. Your points about no one caring about a bunch of recluse scientists freezing to death is well taken. I think all edge was taken off when the term "corpse-cicle" was dropped. Knowing that most every woman in town was in on it explains that ambivalence but leaves the story flat. In general, I think 6 episodes would have worked well if the True Detective voodoo wasn't shoe-horned in. I'm OK with the scary visions but in the end, the spiral nonsense and wicker dream catchers were a waste of precious time. Of course I have to admit, if it wasn't a True Detective season, there's no way I would have watched it.

I totally agree, I think this szn was absolutely brilliant! I LOVED the nods to the movie. So many characters and events that overlapped (especially Ole taking an axe to that old lady's greedy, prick son). I'd rank the Fargo season (from best to worst): 5, 1, 3, 2, 4. I think the episode of Dot's dream was the best episode by FAR!

I think szn 1 was some brilliant lightning in a bottle. I think szn 3 came DAMN close to re-capturing that. The time jumps were awesome, the main characters (the two detectives were brilliant). The love story of Purple Hayes and his wife was an awesome sub-plot. The supernatural elements (like the dead Vietcong soldiers that visited purple when he was old) served a great philosophical purpose and really kept me intrigued. This szn goes a little too far (IMO) with the supernatural, and it takes away more of the mystery to the murders than actually adding to the mystery. I just finished watching Fargo Szn 5, which I LOVED, and do think it re-captured both the movie Fargo and Szn 1 of Fargo very, very well. I agree with you though on this szn of True Detective.... where the first and third installments felt greater than the sum of their parts, this one... just feels like it's only as good as the sum of its parts.

Watching it with my girlfriend, who is a big fan of the show. My first thought on seeing the polar bear was, "well, at least it's not on a desert island in the fucking Pacific!" 🙄 ("Lost" - not a fan) It's called _True_ Detective... all I can say is that there better be a huge fucking injection of TRUE in the next few episodes, cause this voodoo bullshit is really really dumb.

Would be nice if all these new hollywood female writers could also write male characters that were not all weak and useless. It is possible to have good female characters exist along side good male characters. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Would people still dislike this season if Jodie Foster hadn't gone all _woke feminazi_ on everyones' asses? I dunno. I will say i've seen enough CGI Elk, & Polar-bears for a lifetime. I like both Danvers & Navarro. Their chemistry/dynamic isn't anywhere near as interesting as Russ & Marty's but it's still been pretty good so far.

The scene that took you out of it- I mean, I believe Navarro is hallucinating him. He maybe is a little over the top creepy, but I thought it was pretty clear that this is a product of Navarros mind and her fears...the 'she' thats waiting probably being her mother I'm guessing. No one else is present and when Danvers walks back over, no sign of life from that poor dude.

The writing sucks, the plot holes are gaping and having a ghost help with an investigation is some American horror story bullshit

The entire series was top notch. From the story, to the casting, the writing and the incredible acting. I thought Lorraine and Roy stole the show.

I think the delivery guy kinda set things up..."You know how it is during the long night...you see things you know ain't there." I think the exorcist moment was Navarro fighting the same madness her mom succumbed to. I'm kinda explaining all that stuff away as psychosis. Like the polar bear wandering around the city...Pretty sure that would be a "sound the alarms" event for a town like that. Polar bears are HUGE and can wreak havoc. Exposure to the poisoned drinking water probably doesn't help.

I’m enjoying it. It is creepy. I thought the scene with Anders Lund in the hospital was likely a hallucination on the part of Navarro. Hallucinations can be horror movie-esque. But time will tell.

yeah I am still thinking about this show now, especially the finale and it does feel masterful. I love the tons of details in the show that tie into the ambiguous ending. The surrealism is so well done in the final episode, and this show also has an incredible soundtrack that is very unique when paired with the tone of the show.
