So valuable thank you. My brother gave me a Dewalt router for Christmas. He got it from his brilliant Woodworker friend, and it came second had without the instructions, so this is so helpful for me, thank you! The instructions I needed. Ali Rowe. xx
Thanks for watching!
The Dewalt cordless router with the plunge attachment is amazing. The corded 2 hp router is the best also.
I agree!
Let the opening and closing ads run. He cleared this issue for a lot of us, and without making it a 22 min video, with 13 midroll ads that none of us let run. I haven't used a router in decades, what helped me was that much of the routing process is best done in multiple passes, not ALL AT ONCE, at ramming speeds.
Thanks for watching!
Most helpful video I found today 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Well done sir, thank you.
Very welcome. Thanks for watching!
Your a bloody star hombre, easy to follow, just what a numbnut like me needs, subscribed😅
Thanks!
I usually wear a condom too.
enever used a router before. you managed to show me exactly what i needed when the manual and official video coundn't. saved me hours of hair pulling cheers!!!
Cheers! Thanks for watching.
Where did you get the round base for the plunge router?
It is a centering jig from Rockler. It came in clutch when I had to cut 100 mortises for a crib I built. www.rockler.com/rockler-compact-router-mortise-centering-base
I love the Man Glitter reference 🤣🤣😂😂😎😎
Thank you!
🤦 i used screws 🤷

Thanks. Very helpful.
I appreciate you watching. Glad you liked it!
You didn’t just drill all those holes into your tile…
womp womp.
Not sure it was all that informative. When you say you're gonna show how to use a tool. It's best to explain it while actually doing a project.
Thanks for your feedback!
Great clip, very informative
Thank you. I’m just about to do this myself, but needed some guidance for drilling into tile. It would be nice if there was a standard size for mounting these things.
Agreed!
Thanks for the information on connecting to Wi-Fi. I just noticed that you manage your CNC to the wall, I have also recently mounted mine to the wall, but I’m struggling with the best way to do dust collection. Connected your desk collection, so it can move freely, but still be supported
Haha thanks for noticing my bungee cord, "temporary," KISS method! I quite literally used a bungee cord and hooked it on the top of the X axis, and a slip knot around the hose. It's ugly but it gets the job done. This is the dust boot I use: www.etsy.com/listing/1026919231/dustimator-for-onefinity-cnc-makita I also added a shelf a long the Y axis to hold the work in place while I mount it. The wall mount was an amazing space saver, but makes extra headaches. Also if you haven't already get yourself an anti static hose and ground it. The static build up between the router and the dust hose was making my controller go nuts.
My power supply crapped out so! So Onefinity sent new whole unit under warranty! Awsome service by email! But I did have to do all checks myself with a avionics tech with me. I would have liked to just send in back for a replacement. I did end up buying a spare power supply just in case it happens again. No worries now all fixed. 🤗🤗🤗
Glad to hear!
I had the same problem with the E-stop on my lathe. I installed a new switch and within a few months, it stopped working also. I figured out that dust was getting in between the contacts of the switch so no connection was being made. To solve the problem, I installed a new switch again and I put the whole E-stop box into a little clear plastic bag and sealed the bag with piece of string. Twelve years passed, and no problem since.
Love it! K.I.S.S. is the best policy in the shop.
Very unclear
Thanks for your feedback!
The bowl bit is no longer linked. Can you link another one?
Thanks for letting me know! Here is an updated link amzn.to/48e1JrH
Sounds like this is a hit piece or just a whinny moron bitching on youtube.
😣 "PromoSM"
Ayeeee, yo! I’m from lawn guy land too! Matzah Pizza seafood area north of the rising sun. I’m a woodworking electrician an eye done some pretty big hows-ya’s out there, Ow you doin?! I just bought a plunge router I’d love to see more with that! Thank you for the butterfly trick!
You forgot the cAWFee.
I would have been pretty upset I would have to do their job. They should have just sent out another box and had that one sent back for them to troubleshoot. I didn't pay all that money to become a onefinity technician...
Yes, that would have been a nice option.
I think it is great that they told you what to check. Most companies would have told you to send it in for warranty work and you would have been without for a couple of weeks. Kudos to OneFinity.
Yes for sure!
likely just clean the contacts for the e-stop, full of sawdust ill bet
The spring inside failed. It was just flopping around.
I just drilled holes into scrap plywood and made my own pegboard out of sturdy material
That’s a great idea! How long did that take?
This may be a dumb question but can you do trim work and edge profiling with this type of router or are compact routers the only type that can do that.
You can use any plunge router for trim work. You just set your depth before cutting. The best part about this router is the plunge base and fixed base are interchangeable. That way, when doing a simple round-over, you can put a smaller, easier-to-handle base on.
@@CTEwithMrB Thank you.
I wonder what this would look like with a river down the middle. Could be an interesting housewarming gift! Great idea!
That would be cool. Thanks for watching!
Having dealt with the same problem with my Woodworker, I was really pleased to see the solution posted in your video. I was able to get mine working by blowing out the dust and hitting the estop switch a couple of times, but I never really knew precisely the cause of the problem. Now I do thanks to you. So if it goes out again, I will know exactly where to look. Thanks!!
Thanks for watching! Glad Im not alone!
Dude! Thank you for fast , to the point guides.
Thanks for watching!
It alway amazes me to how people won't take the time to guard the controller against dust and debris!
It's tough to do with the amount of cable they provide!
Where are the studs??
It's secured in the top plate and on the left side by the outlet.
Can I use the plunge router to make a 1/2 in round over? By using the step down as you have shown.
You don't need a plunge router to do a round-over. You need to purchase the correct size round over bit.
Great help
Thanks for watching!
No bullshit just straight to the point. These things aren't as common over here in Holland so I just needed the general idea. This helped a lot!!
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
I kinda think the glue is not necessary...
100
appreciate ur effort, thx
Thanks!
Yeah. I gotta agree to the music. It doesn’t change in volume when you speak which just sounds like noise.
Thanks for your feedback!
Thanks!!
Thanks for watching!
Finally 🙌
Thanks!
did they offer any soultions to the dust issue. heck its a woodshop and a cooling fan thats not filtered or protected is really a basic design issue. I'm a potentential customer. I'm retinking my choice here. Thanks very much for the video.
Build a wooden box with an old computer muffin fan in one end blowing out and find some type of paper filter for the other end. Maybe a lawnmower filter or something like that. I am looking to purchase a Onefinity machine sometime in the next year, and seeing this problem is a great way to take steps to avoid the same issues.
I'm used to larger, corded routers czcams.com/users/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.
Thank you!
the music is a bit loud and overpowering my guy
Thanks for watching!
thanks for the info you shared. been pulling my hair out trying to connect to the internet. your idea is awesome. thanks again!
You are so welcome! It was a game-changer for me.
I just farted..
I thought I smelled something.
Ive been looking at those books. There’s not much in the way of reviews online as far as details about the actual content. How’s the information and illustrations inside? Are they detailed or, do they leave a lot of room for interpretation like others? Thanks in advance.
I had a couple cuts of showing the insides of the books but didn't want to violate any copyrights. By far the Illustrated Cabinet Book is the best. Tons of diagrams, standard measurements etc.
@@CTEwithMrB completely understandable with the copyrights. I appreciate your time and looks like I have a book to pick up! Much appreciated!
Onefinity just banned me from their forums (I am a 1F owner) because I posted complaints on the 1F non-official forum on facebook. Unreal. I can not believe how awful this company is. People think they have excellent customer service because there are no complaints on their forum. But they routinely delete any complaints or criticisms. This is well documented. It's a nicely put together machine. But the controller is absolute trash. They haven't updated their bullshit firmware because clearly they can't figure out how to fix it. Totally not my fault you built your machine around some dinky open source controller. Anyway I'm totally disgusted with them. This summer I will be changing over the controller to something functional.
That's wild.
Thanks to the non-existence of affordable Proudly Made in USA products, most of us are forced to take the risk of buying poorly developed junk from China! Sadly most products are made in the US, and the maker wants to get rich quick selling less for more. This is a poor strategy for failure, opening endless doors to competition abroad. We either go back to producing decent quality products in the US at competitive prices, or China will have more control over the world market and capital.
Yeah absolutely! I don’t know where they get their controller from but Onefinity is based in Canada. It’s probably hard to find an American made estop switch.
I get that Onefinity is in Canada and whatever but they do this stuff where they basically just tell you to figure it out. I haven’t had the thing for more than 4 mo THs and already all that happens is the screen just blinks on and off. The machine comes on but I can’t use it because the screen just sits there and blinks in and off, anyone k owe what t do? Please tell me haha
It can be quirky. How do they sort the list of cut files? Sometimes they are in alphabetical order, sometimes not.
