Well, i remember the camcorders back in those days.. pretty sure my folks must still have one. Big ol' shoulder ones. The zoom zoomed so fast, and you were up someones nose before you knew what happened. 🤣

Don’t remember ever seeing Spiral playing a telecaster in the old days

First saw DMB on some morning show early 90’s while flipping the channels at the beach… I remember getting a massive splinter under my middle fingernail on the old wooden porch (*that should be a song) and seeing DMB on that show playing Ants Marching…. They were introduced as a new band… that’s all I remember from that trip. Been a huge fan ever since! Saw them live FINALLY in 2003 after I got married, and I try and go every year now! Best of what’s around….

goes to show Dave started with serious world class talent behind him. Not to take anything away from Dave, he had the imaginative quirky songwriting. You wouldn’t have expected the musicians behind him to really have gotten it either considering the bands they could have chosen to join perhaps. The combination worked. To this day The Dave Matthews Band are STILL in their own niche. The Rock HOF nominating is a joke, and I’m sure they’ll get in eventually, would still be nice to see them get that recognition soon!

It’s really amazing how different and great they were at such a young age.

Finding this video was like opening a time capsule - this is pure gold for a long time fan. An iconic band. It’s awesome to watch this and to listen to how the band has transformed it’s sound while keeping true to the songs, lyrics, and performance. Dave’s dancy performance style, leg kicking, lyrical free-styling, and footwork hasn’t change much over the last 30 years. I’ve got this video saved.

I was there. It was amazing. I have a lung condition and fibromyalgia and almost pulled out of going but decided f-it, I love her and I want to be there. The communal experience of "I am Here" and "Irrelevant" - screaming the lyrics, clapping, fists in the air, everyone together? So very glad I pushed myself to go.
