MB fuel filter head differences on a 616/7 engine.
I'm thinking the machining between the two (01 & 02) is the same, as you see the fitment of the 01 bolt to the 02 head.

You can barely hear me, sorry. Also, never noticed the slow side to side rocking of the air cleaner, just always rattled. The open ball you se is the link to the cruise control actuator, not connected. No influence in any way pertaining to this video.

Front crank spacer ring puller in action. I keep calling it a seal, it isn't, this is the spacer ring. You can see the slots in the gripper side, you must open it, fit the tool on the spacer ring, then tighten that middle nut to surround the back of the ring, proceed to crank on the long bolt, just as with a gear puller. The same adjustment is used on any MB transmission. Some folks have the adjustment just opposite of mine.

To check if the motor is working, apply power to the two leads of the motor.

I have a 240 D the throttle was getting stuck on the heater hose, it pulled out from the firewall above where the pedal goes thru on the rubber socket, took awhile to figure it out and once I did the 4 banger oil burner came alive! no not really but I did have better throttle response in 3rd and 4th.
How does adjusting this differ from adjusting the transmission modulator concerning early vs. later shifting?
Hey. This(bowden cable) will help in adjustment of shift early or late. And vacuum modulator adjustment will help in quality of shift like hard shift or smooth shift. Hope it helps

Thank you so much for taking the time making and uploading your videos, I'm a newbie to Diesel and just got my hand on a 1985 300SD. A few things I have to fix to get her right. Your videos helped me out a lot.
Your suppose to adjust your cable till theres no free play, what you do is you grab the rubber boot (where the metal cable attaches to the linkages) and tug on it, if its not moving with effort its fine , its its moving adjust till its tight.
Tug which way? Parallel or perpendicular to cable?

No, I have not removed the Bowden cable, you need it attached.

That was not easy, I had to peel away the metal cup, used some sort of snips, I think. The black cap came off with less effort. Thank you for the nice comment. Check the screen name KickHayner, that's me too.
It also is part of the transmission vacuum system that can introduce leaks there. Simply by-pass the egr system, your engine will thank you. The 3/2 valves do something with the trans, but mine have been disconnected for years, no problems.
So the black box is just for the EGR ?? What does the black box do exactly ?
