This is for “Gerry” below. You don’t make sense. I think you don’t know what a cadence is. You certainly don’t know apostrophes or their appropriate use. A display of ignorance like this is not a recommendation of your wit. I’m betting you never read a poem out loud for any audience anywhere. If you had you would have acknowledged this quite beautiful reading by Jeremy Irons.

I hadn’t known that poem. Magnificent. And magnificently recited.

There’s a habit amongst poetry readers of imposing this curious mournful tone and misplaced lilt to poetry. No matter the poets intent or the readers interpretation, that cadence is employed. Then lauded, as automatically, by those who ‘enjoy that type of thing’. I wonder did Jeremy muse quietly about the psyche of a man near daily death yet who spurns the cloying sanctuary of small minds in a small village. And why. Or maybe his ‘one size fits all’ cadence is a comment of itself.

Her voice acting as the emerald herald in dark souls 2 brought me here. Amamzing voice, voice actor and actor

Perfect reading with depth of feeling this poem demands, if you are going to read it to others. Thank you, Adjoa. This is the precise time to hear this poem read aloud. So many of us, now want for, NO, Long For, Americs to BE America Again. We experienced it once. We knew it existed; believed it would just "ripen" as fruit, until it was perfect to devour, bringing us health and prosperity, as the juices dripped down our chins, no matter colors of our skin, national heritage, ethnic background, sexual leanings / love beliefs. WE KNEW/Understood WE WOULD, in Fact, COULD Succeed. We could define our very own journey with its' destination determined by us alone, as an individual. We would be listened to. We would be SEEN. I would say, What Happened? We all know what happened. We saw it with our eyes. We heard it with our ears. Anyone of moral conviction, who Knew What America WAS at one time; it was progressing along its' Constitutional Path. We all know who chopped the tree down that blocked the pathway. Will the tree take eons of time to rot and return to soil? Will a hoist lift it from our path so we can proceed? Now, ever aware of the possibilities of OUR AMERICA to find itself turned from the foreword journey to the backward slide will focus on Let America Be Americs Again with the essence of the ideal in our soul so deeply now, it is intrinsic from this day forward. Amen and Amen
