Why Correcting Dogs is THE Missing Link in Training & Certain Ideologies are Letting Dogs Down
Me too but watched replay! Nice to have you back on in am Jeff to start our day!
The funny thing is that you say you're not a sport dog trainer, but from what I've seen from some of your work you've done with dogs you have a lot of the obedience down, which for some is the hardest part.
Shit I missed the podcast!!
Hey Jeff. Just writing to say thank you. I trained my dog totally for free using info from your videos. I definitely don't agree with a lot of your political takes, but you're a genuine guy and your training techniques are undeniable. Keep it up brother.
❤
Pay attention to the small details Jeff does. SO much info in this video.
Jeff, that factually grounded essay was inspiring. You are at your best. Best wishes to you and yours.
Eggplant Parma recipe please! Haha
This is the best one yet, I love it
Yep Delilah, lol
Joelle you're a ⭐️ 🤗

He’s a brave man. I never handle dogs in shorts… lol
@@microaggressor1113 Florida. Shorts and often barefoot
The dog is fearful because animals and people aren't designed in nature to live in homes together. Getting therapy for social disorders would be better than forcing a dog to live with you, meanwhile biting and mauling 4.5 million people a year . 🙄
Love these videos. Really like the style/text overlays as well.
1:04 - look at his face, he knows why he's there lol
Currently chilling with my 8yr old shepherd Persia. I knew nothing about dogs when I got Persia but have had 7 fantastic years with her using the knowledge I learned from Jeff. Thank you so much sir.
Oh, this was perfect. I’ve never really seen you train. I hope you do some more on CZcams.
We have thousands of hours of how to videos in our online academy start to finish
Hi Jeff, lol what happened to your tibia 🦴… lol 😂 Did you get bitten. 😂lol.
No i was severely injured from a fall and I am at the end of healing in this video
Okay so I have a question. And I realize it’s not super relevant to this video but I’m desperate. We have a 4 month old beagle and we’ve struggled with crate from the very beginning. He barks whines howls cries pants bites the cage. I’ve tried everything I can think of. Positive associations, crate games, letting him cry it out. Nothing works. He’s not nervous. He will go in there to get treats and occasionally just go in and sniff around but if I close that door and leave he freaks out. He will do all of the above for the entire time we are gone 30 minutes or 2 hours. I found your videos and decided to try and e collar. We used one on our German shepherd in the past for off leashing in our yard so I’m familiar with using them. His working level is 4-5. I put him in the crate closed the door and tapped when he whined or wasn’t sitting. He eventually laid down but was still panting and very quietly whimpering, I ignored it because it was progress. If he got up or was louder I would tap again. I kept doing this and it seemed to just make him more stressed and more anxious. I’ve watched your videos over and over where dogs will just accept it and lay down and I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Any advice?
Oh wow, my heart is breaking for you hearing how scared he was. I'm glad he's a confident dog now!
J&J, this is an amazing video. So many people don't know a nervous dog won't take food. Thank you!!!
yall are idiots following a idiot whos calls training "terrifying your dogs"
❤
My 5 month old pup showed resource guarding yesterday, and he actually bit me and broke skin. It’s the first time he’s ever purposely bit me, but I’m not ok with it, he tried to today again with a Kong, so I just took his kongs and bones and put them all in the garage.
That will never stop it. You can just stop the behavior with simple training. We have a online course on how to stop it
@@SolidK9Training but how do I do it alone, if I admit I’m abit nervous around him when he eating? He’s been rough playing with me like always, but yesterday he did draw blood and yes it was the first time. Idk how to react to it and well I had a high guard and I see him nervous around me as well.
❤
I've been saying "it's okay" countless times and now I feel like such an idiot😂! So glad I found Jeff😊
To J & J, I really appreciate your presence here on YT.❤ thank you both for all your help for the numerous dog owners out there who are feeling a bit overwhelmed or even hopeless. Just hang in there, keep an open mind and do the work and celebrate your wins no matter how big or small!!
So I’m watching the podcast late, but I had a question. I don’t know if if you answer when the podcast is over but I have a Border Collie that is overstimulated for balls actually for almost anything and when we go for a walk if there’s anything different or new like a ballin the grass or a child playing he freaks out should I just correct him every time thank you
What if the out works but after that a second or two later the dog starts reacting bad? He outs then attacks after that.
It to as done wrong You most likely underwhelmed the dog
@@SolidK9Training he doesn’t seem to like eye contact when his bowl is around. Will try the two leash thing you did. Almost getting bite by my best friend sucks. Put I know he isn’t a bad dog.
@@Es2u we have a step by step video on how to stop resource guarding at www.solidk9training.com that goes much deeper into it. You should be able to make eye contact with your dog. Our videos go much more thorough into our theory on this then our CZcams videos
@@SolidK9Training we work whether it’s frisbee or ball or training. But as soon as bowl comes out and eye contact happens he turns into a different dog.
@@Es2u I understand. He physically outs but not mentally. You would correct him again with OUT command and spacial pressure. Using an ecollar
Thank you. Your tips did worked.
Wow 12 views. ? Is this because it’s a different time?
I don’t really know nor do I really care views and followers really don’t matter in my world
My favorite line is, Judges don't care.
😂😂😂
Awesome, thank you Jeff!
Can you share what happened to that dog and the progression of his rehab. I searched for it but couldn’t find it. Really thankful for all your free content.
So, I thought you were going to show how to stop anxiety🤷

I thank you, Jeff, from the bottom of my heart ❤️ . Your videos have helped me immensely in working with my Puppy/Dog.
The online courses are excellent. I have used them and my life and dogs life has changed. My dog is so much more happy.
So happy for you ans great job on the hard work
"What would Brian boitano do" now stuck in my head...
I'm so pissed I missed this, my son called, and I lost track of time!!
Love these, thanks.
Jeff: I love watching your videos and the methods you teach.
I appreciate you. thanks so much
Curious why do you reward off place?
We reward on break all the time. It’s the end of the command. All depends on what level the dog is at in training at the start we lure. Then we reward them we correct for breaking command. By then rewards have disappeared. All depends on the dog and the motivations and what levels we are at. Then there is bringing distractions in we may bring back rewards. Lots of variables
You're an awful trainer. Get off the internet. Stop doing this your abusive and mean
🙏❤️🔥🤘
Still trying to find notifications for these podcasts. Duh, feel so dumb.😢

That’s too funny! I could picture it !!lol! I have this problem all the time when I walk dogs I always have to pee and then when I’m driving, etc. etc. easier for a male to pee anywhere that’s for sure. But what I do is I just run to any bathroom and I take the dogs with me in the bathroom. Obviously, I try to find one of those wheelchair or bigger bathrooms / which typically I do find. But if I’m going back home, I’ll just take them with me to the bathroom. But if I’m going home, I’ll just take them with me when I run to the bathroom. Anyhow, that’ll make me smile for a while. Your story.😅
