Thunderstruck on the Bagpipes

A customer requested this song for their wedding. Finally an excuse to make myself learn it! Started practicing it yesterday so still a bit shaky but should have it down solid soon enough.
Drunken Lullabies on Uilleann Pipes

Attempting a cover of Drunken Lullabies on my uilleann pipes in C. Slainte!
Uilleann Pipes in C by Tim Benson
zhlédnutí 252Před rokem
My new C set of uilleann pipes by Tim Benson, a true master of his craft. Transitioning from GHB to uilleann was a lot more complicated than I expected and I’m still getting it down. The uilleann sound is worth it though, I can’t put these things down.

A classic tune, great 👍👍👍👍
Great 🎶🎼👍👍
Well done! 😅
I want that to play that theme
How do you get to second octave without being able to increase bag pressure. And, you also miss stacato. A cran for example, is not a cran
It sounds cool, definitely not the ice-cream truck song I grew up with in the U.S. though🤣💯💯. Maybe change the title to "Irish/scottish ice-cream truck song. That may be why you're not getting a bunch of likes, because not many people outside of your country recognize it as an ice cream truck song. Because it definitely sounds perfectly fine.
Interesting! 😳
very nice... thinking about getting these mainly for the Uilleann setting
Great
Thank you for blessing my ears with this.
Where can I get the music sheets for the Ill pipes on the electronic chanter? You sound fabulous.
I love so much such pipes ,where can I buy it ?
Full set. The button mounts make it look smaller.
Love this! What brand and model are these pipes? Appreciate the feedback.
It's in the Description, guy.
AWESOME BRO!!!
That was awesome amazing great job 🙏💪💯🤟👏👏👏👏👏👏
What is the name of this song
This is 4 tunes. The first tune is the main theme song from Braveheart. The second is the Kesh Jig. The third is the Gael. The fourth is March of the King of Laoise.
Love this song is so relaxing
Very cool beautiful song Brazil 🇧🇷
Where did u hear it?
This sounds quality, I’ve recently purchased the Blair Digital Chanter and on my Uilleann setting, many of the notes sound nothing like yours therefore when I attempt to play the same tune it sounds nowhere near as good as yours! Have you altered any of the note somehow?
Thank you! The only thing I changed was the vibrato. I set the vibrato sensitivity to 10 on each note except for high A and high G. Those I set to 7. I think I might have also adjusted the reverb on everything, though I forget what I changed that to I’ll have to check
Thinking about buying the Blair digital chanter…are you still enjoying yours? Do you recommend it? I enjoy your videos 👍🏽
Yes, it’s awesome! I highly recommend. Thanks!
It sounds cooly so great !
Sean, which download program are you using? Is that the Uilleann Fingering or the GHP for Uilleann Pipes?
This is the GHB uilleann fingering
Thank you. Your video inspired my wife to order a BDC and I have been relearning the pipes.
terrific sound
Where can I find the sheet music for the first song you played?
I figured it out by ear, not sure where there’s sheet music for it
That bass's first growly tone is one of a kind. When you strike up, most drone reeds go through 2 or 3 stages of vibration, and the third stage of vibration is when you're playing the chanter. Bass reeds only have two stages. The first vibration stage is absolutely one of a kind in terms of pitch. A minor third lower! Usually it's a half-step higher.
Oh wow..... where do you an electric one.
It’s called the Blair Chanter. You should be able to get it online
@@seanhenry3829 thank you
Hey - it looks to me like you have your bottom pinky off the chanter (and thus able to tap out embellishments) while playing low-D, but my setup requires a closed chanter for low-D. Are you using the standard Uilleann file, or the GHB fingering file? Thanks!
I’m using the uilleann GHB setting in this
Hi Sean, great playing by the way. I am/was a bag piper for almost 20 years, but I love the uillean pipes with a passion. I have a deger pipe chanter, but I would love that Uillean chanter, could you send me a link to where I could buy one? I am struggling to find one online that I trust, Thanks Sean
Blair bagpipes
Yes, the Blair Chanter
Michael Kirgeler
can the drone volume be turned down or changed to a different note ?
Tenor/baritone and bass drone sounds can be turned up/down and off. As far as I know you can’t change the drone note, but there is a different bagpipe setting that plays the next note up, making it work with more minor tunes
Is it possible to use uilleann pipe chanter fingering or do you need to use ghbp fingering?
You can use either, depending on the mode you have it set to. The only difference is your left thumb has to be off the chanter in order to reach the second octave. It’s a little weird at first getting used to. Note however that both uilleann modes do not come come standard with the chanter, you’ll have to download them onto the chanter with the free software/app provided.
Very nice playing but drinking Guinness from a CAN????? 🙂
It was my road soda, I couldn’t find a to-go cup lol
Nice job!
Thanks!
fantastic
Really great sound and playing. What do you have your vibrato set at to get such a good vibe on it? I’m still trying to dial in all my sensor settings and learn the uilleann fingering patterns.
Thank you! I set the vibrato sensitivity to 10 on each note except for high A and high G. Those I set to 7.
@@seanhenry3829 Thanks! I appreciate it
Nice tune!!! Awesome!!!
Outstanding!!! Whatever transition process you're undergoing, it doesn't show in this rich and elegant medly ending in "Marsha Ri", a favorite of mine. The mellow tone, power and range of these Uillean pipes astonish. Thank you for pursuing this, bringing this incredible instrument indoors for us.
Sean, you lit the lantern for the boardwalk tonight with your pipes. Thank you.
Have you ever thought of tracking down synthetic reeds? They allow you to play a Uilleann pipe Chanter, like a practice chanter, and they're easier in the pipe Chanter then playing a practice chanter. czcams.com/users/shortsaBnV8GHxcp8?feature=share
This sounds awesome! Great work man! What audio interface do you use to get your recording onto the computer? Or are you simply hooked up to an amp?
Thanks man! I’m just hooked up to an amp
@@seanhenry3829 oh very cool! I just got a Blair chanter for Christmas and am wanting to start doing some recording. I’m trying to figure out the best way. Your sound quality is quite good so I may consider just hooking to an amp as well. Although I’m also considering purchasing an audio interface so I can overlay harmonies. Your playing sounds great! Thanks!
@@bagpiper7637 definitely get an audio interface if you wanna do some legit recordings, I’m just messing around with this shite. I want to get a wah peddle and try to get some cool electric guitar sounds out of these
This is freaking awesome!!❤
Thank you!
😮
That was great love to get a Blair chanter
This is freaking cool!! Love it!
