Had the same problem , mine was the position sensors . Anyway wanted to share a little tip for your screen . I sanded from 320 400 600 1000 1500 2000 and a quick buff with a wool pad and it looks fresh out of the factory. Don’t do the headlight repair hack people say just buy paper and keep it wet after 420 grit

My 2003 sportsman 500 starts on the pull starter but just turns over with the key. Runs fine, but wont start with key. What are your thoughts on that?

what a crazy procedure. i wonder, does this happen where it's stuck in 1st gear and reverse it barely runs, when the tps sensor is unbolted? i'm working on a junker and i don't see how the sensor is supposed to mount, it doesn't fit flush on the carb, maybe it supposed to have spacers? anyway, i hope i can get that installed and not have to do all this procedure and replace the angle sensor, caues my LCD is completely burnt out from sun lol

Quick question I’m sure the ticking that seems to be so common on these Can-Am. That’s what you hear when you first started up. It takes real soft and then once you put it down in gear, it generally stops or once the machine warms up a little bit??

Mine was acting kinda similar but I'm sure it's my solenoid I tested both of those wires you referred to and one had the correct voltage and the ground had 0. That's always a good thing to remember is put a volt meter on the circuits and test for shortages ECT. But your video is definitely helpful and sure did explain your issue as you described.

Yo, Yo, great video, I'm going to be a copycat, I'm going to try and help you spread the word. All connection under the hood had water shuck them dry and dried with heat wrap gun. @coreywilson I am having trouble with my 2020 sportsman not starting as well. I get the rapid shatter when turning the key. It used to start after trying multiple times but now it just chatters and never turns over. When it used to start, I never got any chatter while it was running like yours. Just while attempting to start. Any help would be appreciated.

@Corey Wilson , I am having this issue now, from sitting for too many years, (2) will check them out, no fuel pump prime or spark! Maybe sitting in heat, the relay failed! one of them!

I got a 2019 can am defender hd8 I replace the piston and rings and new valves and got good compression now and I got the timing set right I hope compared to what you showed in this video the springs was lose enough to set tdc I get a lot of air coming out the intake side and it try’s to start but the spark don’t get the the plugs I got a new coil pack I got new wires and plugs I need some help please

I kno it’s a little late to the show, but u can put the quad in neutral and tune ur key off and on 3 times, it will run its own diagnostics. I’m still learning myself I have the 2005 Polaris 700 twin,
