Now I have only had this Don Carlos and I definitely enjoyed it and found it pretty flavorful. Now I have another one to smoke so I'm curious to see if it's as enjoyable as the first one. I puff away with no problem up to 10 bowls of PA a day with no issue. Then when I brush my teeth or drink something and I’m screaming like the boy on home alone. And it lasts for days. So I would start with Paraguay viso for the coffee, condega viso for coffee and spice, candela bind for grassiness and an Indonesian Sumatra wrapper. Possibly be able to swap the condega viso with Dominican Corojo ligero or Criollo ligero. The key tobaccos would be Paraguay , candela and Condega or Corojo. That's where I would start. @@aromatix5741 You can avoid direct sunlight. Some people used to build the drying rags in shade, but to be fair I haven’t seen much difference. I think the type of leaf is not an issue. The spots occur when the drying process is uneven; either the leaves are very tightly packed or have gotten wet from rain or condensation. The best way is to thread them on a cord through the main vein (at the base where it’s thick) ensuring they are not squashed together. Then you can make loops on the two side of the cord and hang them horizontally on two pegs or nails. I’d pick them up the moment they turn the deepest shade of green. These are not fruits, don’t wait for them to wither. When they start yellowing on the stalk, they start loosing their potency.

What really matters is how they look late at night in the morning. They should be very perky with the leaves pointing up (prayer position). @@aromatix5741 it’s a delicious American English without being aromatic. There’s 8 different tobaccos in the blend and you can taste them all. So perfectly balanced and quite rich. Just enough unsweetened cavendish to round it out with natural sweetness no topping. It even has dark fire Kentucky and Perique has everything but done so well by Carl Mcallister. Definitely one of my favorites by far. If I could only have one pipe tobacco it would probably be that because it’s not overwhelming or underwhelming to have as an only smoke. It’s complexed to enjoy and relax yet cheap price wise that it’s great to smoke while being busy. It’s great any season anytime literally. Has this certain overall profile that I can’t describe. It’s smoky spicy nutty slight sour slight floral and earthy with a hint of cocoa at times. It’s got it all. It’s not a Latakia bomb but there’s just enough Latakia and oriental to let you know it’s an English but with all the other tobaccos blended in the way they are is incredible and the choice of Virginias and burleys used is perfect for the blend. Get some you’ll see lol. It’s got a very high quality taste profile. I’d say it’s on the lower end of medium strength in taste maybe medium but it’s rich no voids in the profile if that makes sense. The taste really builds up as you smoke and makes my eyes roll back lol. Just something about it. Definitely a bargain big time

Well glad you found the video. Oh yeah, The pipe hobby is a big rabbit hole for sure. If you don't have a friend to show you the ropes in person it can have a learning curve but the nice thing is you can totally enjoy the hobby with very little start up cost but its unlimited from there if you want a custom made pipe, fancy lighter and accessories. One more thing is you do not inhale but you can still get nicotine that get absorbed through the mouth. If you have any questions feel free to ask. .
