Hello Hello Hello!
This is Angelina Lu (or Angie for short!) Welcome to my channel, where I have honest talks about consulting, career and wellness
I was born and raised in China, left home to the U.S. at 15 alone without speaking any English. Although it was not easy, I graduated from Northwestern University, landed my first job as a McKinsey consultant, and have visited and worked in 20+ countries B.C. (before Covid). Now I live in Toronto, very much enjoying the startup life and my new side hustles.

Ibam strugling witg PSG I have been invited for Digital assesment Solve Game
It's a bit contradicting here: 1:50 On one hand they do want us to use a framework. On the other hand they don't want you to use a pre-existing one? Well if I have the same M&A questions for the 9th time why would I use a different framework for the 10th time even though it had proven to be useful? Sure we have to customize our framework according to given questions & the deeper the case goes. But then again you will often face the exact same veriables to solve the exact same problem right? Hence, my framework will have very similiar approaches whenever I face a very similiar problem. Isn't that logical?
Let's say, for example, a general M&A framework might have 8-10 areas that you could consider, but based on the specific prompt, some areas are more important than others. Key here is to figure out the most important several areas to structure your problem solving around
Why is the sun still out at 10pm?
How can you break in without a degree? Sneak into a university to attend relevant events and offer to work for free?
But all this in a pandemic? how is it possible?
This is not healthy
resume template
repackaging old truths that everyone with half a degree already knows.
My interview is tomorrow. Wish me well everyone😅
How was it? Were you able to make a nice structure and conclude?
How to become HR in McKinsey
YES

Very useful insight
Thank you so much Angie for your work! Your methodology saved me! I nailed the business case interview!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
This video is amazing, thanks a lot.
This is so outdated. Partners don't work that much and the work is actually quite easy for junior people. The hours are still super rough for jr people. However, the thing that makes it not worth it is the pay can't match market when you calculate it hourly and it's super toxic. But most importantly, McKinsey is the source of some of the greatest evils in the world and it's hard to sign up for that
So did I. Its awful there and the pay is meh
It's ok maybe you should talk about the millions of lives McKinsey has destroyed from the financial crisis and paying rebates to oxycotin distributors for each over dose caused by the opioid incentivizing over prescribing dangerous and addictive drugs to the assassination of Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi?
Are you not doing courses anymore?
After having covid and 5 vaccines I lost my ability to memorize, focus and analyze. I was making stupid mistakes over and over and over. No help from my manager. My mistake was to stay there for too long... I should have rotated earlier, I did not take action quickly but my lead did. I am no longer working there.
Good at icons
NICE
where can I get this template?
What font size and theme font you used?
Thanks I would like to know what job you're working now, after living consulting (I'm in consulting now =)))
Hey Angie quick question-how do you remember all those questions?
When I was a CNA, my nurse manager that was very newly employed, gave me a poor performance review which completely killed my love for my job, and my motivation. The brown nosers got exceeding expectations which wasn't true because the elderly residents were giving the CNAs money. I worked three halls and worked nonstop for the first year, until I got the negative job assessment. I was very mad at the male nurse nanager because he never came out to help us qnd work alongside any of us. I'm no brown noser and I eventually spoke up against physical abuse against my coworker, and the work environment was very stressful and miserable for me. I tried talking to my other nurse manager but she didn't care so I told her no one cares about the problems at this job so I am quitting. Her face dropped and the huge workload everyone threw on me everyday went back on them when I walked out. They were in shock and they tried talking me out of it, but being mistreated for my entire second year and being bullied was enough to walk away. Best decision I ever made. 😊
Complete garbage
This is by far the only video that really helps me understand what is a consulting case interview and how to prep for one @missangielu ! I'm thinking to apply for exactly McKinsey but tbh my progress is not so good. I blanked every time I heard a new prompt and problem statement. I'm just too confused as to where to start structuring my thoughts. Any tips?
I recently released a course that covers case interview step by step, check it out here if interested www.missangielu.com/crack-the-consulting-case-interview-code, hope you find it helpful
This is such a relatable topic that is not talked about enough. Please keep using your voice and sharing your journey!!
Thank you for this I just recieved a total curve ball from my director who I thought really liked how I was working! I feel so stupid now and feel like my boss hates me I wanted to quit (it just happened yesterday) so it just sucks but I tried to stay positive but getting a 1% promotion sucked ass and felt like shit…
Do I have a chance with a 3.6?
Hi, I am a graduate in commerce and a post graduate in social work. I have some experience in social work. But now, I feel like that’s not my cup of tea. Businesses have always got my interest and would like to get into consulting. How can I get into a remote internship in UK in consulting ? Hope to hear from you. Many thanks
How can someone work in consulting before they're an actual expert in the field? Also, if you are an actual expert, how can they pay you to get up from your previous job? I'm genuenly asking as an expert from one internet marketing agency.
I can relate to it

When are you opening a course or a coaching program?
Yes, I am just launching a course that covers case interview prep step by step, check it out here if interested www.missangielu.com/crack-the-consulting-case-interview-code, hoping you can find it helpful
@@missangielu I love that but I actually meant a course that helps me transition into the industry that covers resume preparation and landing job interviews. I hope your course covers that.. please confirm! Thanks 🙏 you’re awesome!
Hey Angie I was wondering how could I get into consulting as a soon to be grad at a target school but late in the recruiting cycle
Thank you for sharing this video. It’s very encouraging
“Not yet” is basically yes. AI is progressing very rapidly.
If I told my parents I was a consultant. They wouldn’t be proud of me. They would be confused. And then disappointed because it doesn’t sound like doctor, lawyer, or engineer Because the number one question every consultant gets is: “what do you do?”. And I think a big part of the job is coming up with bullshit to answer this question.
Can you work at home as a consultant?
nice video, feel the same even I just did an internship at a consulting company. ex intern at WTW(Willis Towers Watson), saw the "future me" from my colleagues and leader, and found out that the work-life balance did not exist, constant stressful and meaningless work(implementation? nah). so I quit before even had become a consultant. 4 months internship told me to quit...
it usally comes down to impression management and image management with type-A managers who like to allocate blame to their subordinates so they dont get blamed for delays on projects due to external factors
If we have 5 years plus experience in Project Management, can we apply for strategic consultant area..
hello Pretty Wonderful Angie and Family. Whatever happen you know ❤,,,❤,,,❤,,,
If we have no idea about the beginning hypothesis (eg population of a given city), will this number be provided to us?
In such interview, typically you could ask questions for information that you don't readily have.. What they want to judge is your problem solving skills, method of work (framework) not your ability to recall information that is easily googled
Hi Angie! I love your way of teaching and your videos I watch them all. Can you please release a course or coaching program? I would love to work with you so I can accelerate my process.
This is how you should conduct a hearing, not like the recent TikTok fiasco. Cotton really need to learn a lot from Hawley.
