Sir, I hope and pray that you are all right, and doing well! And I hope that the company has been helpful in your recovery, and financially! God's Blessings to you.
This is probably fake he came from no where n definitely didn't walk there n Noone has boots or steal toes . I used to walk on roofs all day with a pack pack blower for 25 dollars an hr it's not nearly enough money to put my life on the line unless the money is right I'm not risking my life for a few bucks I've almost died plenty of times and I wish osha saw my boss putting us up 40 ft ladders with no one helping love the shitty material we opt to use these days too. We should start using concrete spray to build houses it's the future of building n it saves money n time and will last longer n won't blow away either
I knew I wanted to be in the trades right out of high school and knew I needed a mentor. I didn’t grow up around the best neighborhood and needed help. I asked my friends dad for help, he was a general contractor. He told me he’d pay me $12 an hour, minimum wage was $10 at the time, and very limited opportunity in my area so I needed some leverage. Well minimum wage was $10 so it was $12 an hour. I was happy. Well I proceeded to clean out a house for demolition and to learn cabinet making from a very skilled teacher that had wood making experience and not iKea cabinet making experience. And They were not built nor installed correctly I was literally supervisor like a hawk and told what to do. But when he paid me for the 80+ hours, the cabinets built and installed by the teacher, another apprentice and me. At the end they were built wrong, and I was blamed. Mind you I had never touched a drill I’m my life. For my work which I did while being told from the teacher that said it was all good. I received $200 and some change for the two weeks, got yelled at, was told to start another project and never showed back up as well as had to tell the other apprentices to not show up ever again and explain to them why their pay check for 80+ hours was less than my $200. I tried looking for another mentor but no one wanted to give me a shot, I showed up and would try to learn from a distance but was told to leave. I then accepted a job at McDonald’s to push buttons, with a higher pay, more on my pay check, and less hours. I hated it. I really wanted to learn but couldn’t afford to pick up cans to go to work in my 1996 Toyota Corolla…I still wish I would’ve found a better mentor because I had loads of young guys ready to work and learn and nothing but time.. but they got screwed as well by the same guy and ended up turning to crime and in prison if not homeless. Point being don’t sell yourself short even if you are new because SOME general contractors don’t have your best interest.
This is why I hate lazy bosses that clearly communicate and call the hardworker a dumbass and make them the work horse. This leads to injuries and high turnover rate.
Sounds about right for carpentry. They want you to be journyman, have tools, reliable transportation, and they will hapilly start you off at 20 or less! 😂😂😂. Go union and never look back. Even 35 an hour isnt enough to own a home or have a kid. This aint 2015 people. Things have changed
Sad things is, that in recent years trades became less popular and kind of last choice for kids without good school grades or infuencial parents to guide them to some office job. This way people didn't treat this kind of jobs seriously so in result whole industry took a big hit in the quality of new employees. That's great we notice this now, but in my opinion it's going to take at least another generation to put blue collar labour on the right track.
Frist don't come to me saying I'm worth $40.00 an hour. I would think your hi or drunk and I'd be cheaking that. Next you run on the site then you let a panel slide potentially killing some one. Get out of hear. Your done. Ps. I would be using a reach to get the panels up there. Faster and safer. But I'm just an electrician contractor. I go through new hires 2 or 3 a week. Can't stay off that phone and I'm repeating requests. It's as dangerous as being drunk. Yes ive had a few learn the hard way, but they survived.
Just use tin snips you can put your pretty hammer on the sheeting when you make the video show something that you really need to know oh I'ma cut man know this is how you break straps then what
Lol

Dead blow soft face hammer bruh, maybe a 6 pounder. You won't damage the wood and it will require less swings.
Great work! I have a shapeoke pro and a gloforge myself. I love the craft
Framer here staples r the hardest to remove 100%

I remember being a carpenter. That’s about the easiest thing you’ll do all day. There is literally never an easy day .
Seen this tip so many times yet always forget about it!
Thats a 300 dollars hammer at the end there
