If you need to dampen the mirror further for long exposures and mirror lockup isn't available, you can shoot in Bulb. I used to carry a dark cloth I would put over the lens and open the shutter, remove it and expose for the long exposure and just release the cable release. Works flawlessly.
As good as the OM-2 is/was, the 4 was better due to the improved metering and construction improvements. TTL-FP flash was also revolutionary at the time. I've got a 2 and a 4Ti. I use the 4 ALLLLLL the time.
The OM 1 and 2 have the higher reliability rating out of all the OM system though.
I've had the OM1 since 1979. It's better than the OM2 because it doesn't need batteries. It's a full mechanical camera. Plus, you can't buy the batteries anymore.
You totally can, Weincell makes a 1.5v battery with a built in resistor to make the voltage adjust to the proper voltage.
@@Caballeroshot Is that the hearing aid battery? I know a fix can be made by wiring a diode into the circuit, because I bought some diodes. I made a complete hash up of it, so if I use the camera I just take an incident light meter, which is far superior to a camera meter.
@@Jack_Warner it's actually a specific battery made for older cameras that required the 1.35V source. I get them from B&H but any good camera shop carries them.
@@Caballeroshot Oh OK thanks, but I still say that's the hearing aid battery. It does work but there was something I read about it discharging itself and the meter readings not being accurate. Get yourself a Lunasix F lightmeter. You will get accurate readings everytime and it uses a standard 9v battery.
@@Jack_Warner I know what you’re referring to and that’s not it. This is a specific battery made for cameras not hearing aids. I also shoot medium format and have an external meter.
Before you 'blame' the film - try checking your processing choices! You need to sort out your methods and techniques before anyone will value your so called review.
Love the video. Just got my AF-1 and am excited to see the results I'm on my 3 roll now.
I love your home made wood grip; you should sell them 😂
Love your pictures; I was given a OM4T; wish you share about the lens you were shooting and if they were in ‘Auto’ mode
What exactly angle adapter is this?
Thank you for this interesting video.
I have a om-2 and its my first manual analog camera but i shoot everything with the auto mode and all my photos from the first film came blurred. Any tips? Pls i am so sad and i want to try and work this again bc manually i have to carry a paper with me either the equivalent shutter speed to aperture cause i forget ^^’
this was a really well made video thank you for the insightful review!
Videos as good as the camera. Olympus film fan for decades.
Great review and very well presented. Thanks
After these videos came out the price for this camera went up to around 150-240 lol We had this one when I was young and we still had. In fact the only reason I searched this again is because I found it in the attic.
First of all… SUBSCRIBED ! 2nd …. That intro was fire !!!! ❤ thanks
Lovely made!!
Great production quality, information, awesome photos. How did this channel die???
Some of those "porsches" aren't porsches.
What battery is that??
This camera is living evidence that Leica buyers overpay just to prove a point. Granted they are phenominal but I don't see the price per result benefit in leica as the OM system puts it in a headlock!
This entire video is all quality and beautifully shot. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing. You've got a new subscriber!
Composition wise on these roll of flex on tripod You get to work with both hands and see more detail The picture of the chair and the tree in the background and the horizontal line running through and the vertical line of the tree totem pulling the main subject which is the chair growing out of the chair we used to avoid this in the '80s classic mortgage of lines and rules distractions in the background and foreground. It's Rolleiflex it can't be random it should not! A good video very down to earth
Less funky camera angles and lighting more straight talking
Thanks for showing interesting pictures with your review!
Man are you still alive?.
Man are you still alive?.
Nice work mate my pref has always been fp4 hp5 Tmax etc but cost of existing crisis has me shopping about just found this stuff bought 5 rolls see how it goes subbed happy to support a fellow content creator
It might be worth mentioning that Ilford XP2 film can be developed via the C41 colour process as a budget option. :)
Your videos are really well made! Thanks
Excellent presentation indeed.I’ve just taken my OM-2 out of storage and looking forward to shooting with it again👍
Got one of this on ebay and really really loved its size, handling and output. If only someone could convert this to digital ...
Fairly slow ISO? When I started in photography Kodachrome was ASA 10 and Plus-X was 64
The OM 2 was not the successor of the OM 1. It was an OM with auto exposre mode and manual mode, an electronic shutter controled shutter, auto correcting the time during the exposure etc. etc.
Correct. I have used both but the OM1 was my favorit. I still use the OM Zuiko lenses though, on a Sony A7(s) mark1.
hi! thanks for the video, i really enjoyed it and would actually love to see you explain how to deveop film.
Thank you very much for such a review. Like your style of imagies, also the narration is very good, many thoughtful details. I would be honost, was looking for some info about "shooting marks" on this film, on the roll. All these "dots". then 1, 2, 3....And how to be sure that your are in a right place on a film roll.
Cool video! Nice to see the Rollei get featured!
Wow these Macro pictures came out great
1986* but really good video!
Can i put my finger over the flash lol?? since i can’t turn it off
Tape is our friend, that's what I do
man, I only watched 30 seconds so far but already hit the like button. That intro is outstanding! Good job :)
This is the only video that shows how to use the winder, thank you
Thanks for this video. I originally bought myself an OM-1 in the mid 1970s, and it was my pride and joy for many years. But digital finally came into my life and I sold it when we moved to a smaller house a few years ago. I have since regretted that, and have just purchased a good condition OM-2 N form a reliable Ebay shop, and it will arrive next week. I am so looking forward to using film in a great camera again.
Learn to write a movie script, if you don't know how, and shoot a feature film. Believe me it's screaming inside of you.
Is the camera all metal?
Is it true that the flash cant be turned off?
Lovely, comfy and understandable video! Great job.
Incredible video 🙌
Hi, I'm going to use this movie just, thanks for being the source.✌🏻✨
How did you get the photos online?? Is there a way to upload clear pictures online?
