@@pietertalens1256 I haven't seen them spawn, tbh they might still be a little too young as was tiny when I first got them.

The sand on this tank was unipac limpopo black I believe, probably not spelt that right though.

Yeah, it's not going great though and I am thinking of selling ot and getting African cichlids 🤔

I am a little unsure still. I prefer it for the loon of the tank, but not sure if there is enough of a mix of water in the middle section. What do you think?

@Hulltiger Reefing I like it but I'm not sold either. I keep thinking about moving to vertical mount but that blows sand.

@Jacob One on either side of the tank would probably be better, but it messes up the look of the tank. I don't see any issues with them being where they currently are, so I will just stick with it for now

Hi thanks for the comment. On the G2 aquariums you don't need to cut anything out I believe, they are "reefmat" ready, so the filter sock holder and glass baffles just slide out. The down pipe already has the fitting to connect the reefmat as well I believe. Sorry I'm a couple of days late with reply

@Stephen Fulton it isn't too bad. I had to do it on mine, if you get the knife set (sump modification kit) that red sea have done it was actually a lot easier then I thought it would be. You should be able to just fit it easy on your tank, I do think the glass baffle you have to slide out can be a bit stiff from what I have heard but just go steady with it.

Hi thanks for the comment. The skimmate does seem to be a lot dryer and takes longer to fill, since I got the reefmat. Skimmer does seem to be less erratic aswell though.

@@Hulltiger_Aquatics how often are you having to clean the cup now vs before?

@Sherman's Heli Channel used to have to empty the cup at least once a week and now maybe only once a fortnight

There is a 300lph pump turned down with a spray bar outlet to help defuse the flow.

Thanks for the comment 👍 tank is fine for betta fish. They don't need loads of space and tank is a good enough volume and we'll filtered for all the fish. Great tank for bettas

@@biggerman6002 I got rid of the tank when I moved house and had the chance to get a reef tank. Definitely no issue with bettas in a tank like that though. Betta don't like too big tanks it can actually stress them out and they're better left on there own with no tank mates. Best thing with the tanknis the filtration is great on it so no issues like you can have in small tanks with water quality

@@Hulltiger_Aquatics My guy you are doing some serious mental gymnastics saying that Betta prefer small tanks, they do like small space to go into but not live in. Let's look where they are native to, rice fields are not small. But to have the audacity to say they LIKE small tanks. I'm legitimately sad because I wanted to like you. But you just had to have a way to a small Betta tank.

Everyone has their own opinions. I am just stating mine and my experience with them. Betta in wild do live in rice paddys yes but the betta we keep are not much like the wild fish. They get stressed in a bigger tank patrolling it

Thank you for the comment. The tank is a aqua one betta trio tank which comes with the dividers. They're plastic though and I don't see why you couldn't do it with glue and fish safe silicone. I'm sure they will be videos on CZcams on how to do it

This tanks have a back filter compartment. Runs along the full back of the tank. Is really good to be honest I had a spray bar to disperse the flow a bit. Bettas don't like to much flow.

I no longer have this tank(wish I still did tbh though) I believe I used tropica aquarium soil, but any planted aquarium substrate should be fine just pick one you can get hold of and you like the look of. As for plants you are better off with smaller plants like crypt Parva, anubis nana petite and just easy plants like them. So pretty much crypts, anubis, java fern and stem plants. Just have a look what you can get hold of.

Hi, I would definitely recommend getting a pipe cutter. I didn't have to remove the pipe to use these. Made it a lot easier. Just make sure you double check where to cut it and then check again. Also you will need some pvc pipe solvent weld. Have to make sure it is fish safe aswell.

@@Hulltiger_Aquatics the pipe cutter that you squeeze to cut ordered them, do redsea not give you the glue for the pipe to weald? If not what's reef safe glue

@@reeferexplained8846 yeah look like pliers with a blade. You get some glue to glue the flexible pipe to the fitting(I didn't use this glue though) but to fit the fitting to the tank pipework you need solvent weld. In the UK I bought some from toolstation. But you want one for portable(drinking) water

Hi, yeah still very happy with it. Working great keeping water a lot clearer and not even used half the first roll yet. Think I am on about 11m used.

Not even had it on the tank a day yet and tank is looking a lot clearer 👍 well worth it and didn't take me long to fit it either. Really happy upto now

Not had the tank for a few years tbh. It was a very nice tank, I did change the scape and the fish to a tangyanikan community. Main reason I did this was because as the planted scape grew out more I was suffering from green cyno at the front of the tank. I think this was down to a lack of enough flow though. Which is often a problem in heavily planted tanks.

I am dosing yes. I am using Red Sea Foundations. Tbh though I will probably change to all for reef when I have ran out. I have heard a lot of good things about it.

@@Hulltiger_Aquatics all for reef is great for a nano but I’d probably stick with something like ATI essentials so you can control separately

@@jonandlisa2000 yeah true I do always have high Magnesium and never have to dose it. The Red sea stuff is really good now aswell.

@@Hulltiger_Aquatics yeah you can dose mag manually if you need to add it. The Red Sea program is good, seen some good results with it

@@jonandlisa2000 yeah I just have a jebao dosing pump and made my own dosing containers out of vos water bottles. So doesn't have to cost loads either

@@AdamUS123-j7q never had a reef octo or heard one tbh. I did have a nyos skimmer before that was a beautiful thing and very quiet. I was going to get one for this tank but thought I would give the redsea a go. It is a decent enough skimmer tbh.

It did yes. Low light loving plants are best though. Crypts, anubis and java ferns for example.

It will grow low and medium light plants well yes. I wouldn't use it with high demanding plants though. Great for crypts, anubis and java ferns though 👌
