I can listen to this all day. We have modifieds at all 3 tracks here in Connecticut but Stafford is the best track in the state and in the Northeast

The way Dave Michael officiates the races you're not allowed to use the bumper. The only way to pass somebody is to dive in the corner like that. Andrew did it to Jimmy during the season and destroyed Blewetts car. Also injured his neck and he missed several races. Diving inside is just part of the game these days because you're not allowed to touch with your bumper. The alternative would be a parade, not an actual race.

I see what you're saying about how guys pass their ..I watched another race the next night in the same thing happened to leader. The guy in second was definitely on better tires though . Problem is is he took himself out as well.

@@larsbambi1575 Just to clarify... When I said that "Andrew did it to Jimmy.." That wasn't the 21 from the incident in this video. 21 is Steven Kopcic. Andrew is the 24, and also the owners son. He's normally pretty clean but during the summer he made a last second dive under Jimmy (76) that resulted in a clip and injured neck. When the race started Jimmy didn't really have a particular rivalry with 21, it's just that the only way to pass is to do the dive bomb thing (unless they give you room on the outside). If they were allowed to bump a guy to move him we wouldn't have so many dive bomb incidents. Before that incident, 21 did try to run Jimmy up into dirt in turn 3 on a restart and didn't even give him room on the outside down the back straight 13:30. Jimmy had to drop back to avoid the dirt but the officials let the restart go. On the following restart at 19:00 21 just decided not to go but the officials called a do-over. After all that and with few laps remaining, I'd imagine that Jimmy (76) wasn't feeling very patient. It's like 76 has more competition with the officials than the other cars. It seems that they don't really like him because he's the main competition for their son Andrew. Speaking of Andrew, he's the guy who spun Hirshman at 13:50. This video doesn't show the contact but he hit him and the officials didn't call it.

@@jerseyshoredroneservices225 watching that track on this channel and hearing the crowd. I could definitely tell 76 is the " Guy " sounds like they either love him or hate him. He definitely is the man to beat. Actually loved his paint scheme it's totally Americana 1776. That has got to be tough on the owners having family on the track , I mean what father wouldn't be rooting for his son? At the same time it makes it hard to make Fair decisions on officiating. This track is so short there is almost a guarantee of drama 🤣💯 I think that's why I find myself watching this track. If I'm not mistaken it's in New Jersey? Anyhow I appreciate the guy that films this "turkey derby" .

@@larsbambi1575 Yes this is in New Jersey, about 5 mi west of the coastline, right in the middle of the state. Wall/ Tinton Falls area, right next to Monmouth executive airport KBLM The previous owners stopped running races there. They actually owned the property and still do I believe but they wanted to sell it so they stopped racing. after a few years they were unable to sell it because of zoning and environmental restrictions. Andrew's father, Cliff Krause bought the racing business and reopened the track. Unfortunately a few years ago he passed away so now it's Andrew's mother and sister. Most of us have been going there for generations and have grandfathers who raced there. It's really a sentimental thing in addition to the exciting racing. Seems like most years they only get a one year lease to run the race track so we've been on you know egg shells for the last 5 or 10 years. Zoning makes it difficult for the owners to sell the property for condos or something like that, so... so far we get to keep racing. Every turkey Derby for the last few years has potentially been the last Turkey Derby. I'd love to see the track operate for another 50 years 😞 What is your racing background?
