Glen's Bladder Cancer Experience – Turning Shock into Advocacy
This video was made possible with financial support from Astellas and Roche. Fight Bladder Cancer has retained all editorial control. Meet Glen, who shares his powerful journey with bladder cancer, starting from an unexpected diagnosis to becoming an active voice in the bladder cancer community. Living in Scotland, Glen's story begins with a simple yet alarming symptom that led him to seek medical advice, encouraged by his wife.
In this video, Glen recalls the shock and confusion he felt when first hearing the words "cancer" and "tumour." His initial emotions were a mix of disbelief and fear, as he struggled to absorb the information. Despite the challenges, including the daunting task of navigating his illness largely on his own at first, Glen highlights how his wife has been his steadfast support throughout this journey, helping him cope with the toughest times.
Glen also talks about the importance of speaking out and getting connected with support groups like Fight Bladder Cancer. He emphasises how these connections have not only supported him but also allowed him to help others by sharing his experiences at various forums, including speaking at the Scottish Parliament.

How arrogant in the extreme! I have all vaccines, my 99 yr old mother who was still mobile around our house suddenly went down like a stroke...blood clots? Don't know the hospital because of her age just stuck her in a bed until I could arrange a nursing home...no testing no treatment at all! She dies 1 month later. Then I got bladder cancer! I'm 64 now. It is outrageous you can say that with such certainty, there is no evidence, no track record and no history...This advice is WRONG WRONG WRONG!

I have fought bladder and kidney cancer for 17 years. I was diagnosed in 2006 and lost 1 kidney in 2007. I then went to surgery to remove the tumors and began BCG treatments for the bladder cancer. The tumors disappeared. Then a 5 year check up period and in the 5th year the tumors returned. Once again surgery and BCG treatments and another 5 year check up period. Again more tumors in the 5th year. For the 3rd time the same. But this time at the end of the 5th year I was clear. I went on living my life until the 6th year and the cancer returned with a vengeance. I went through so many surgeries I have lost count and have experienced more pain than I ever dreamed a human body could handle. This last time (4th) I lost my bladder and prostate and the BCG would not work. The pain was 10 worse than before. I am 68 years old now and suppose to be cancer free once again. The one thing I know for sure is I am done with surgeries, CT scans, MRIs, Chemo or any other kind of treatments. I have had sooooo many cystoscopys I could do them myself. I have seen the amount on bladder cancer paintents more than quadrouple in those 17 years. It is PURE HELL!!! It not only turns your life upside down, but inside out as well.

Interesting. He says BCG is given after the cancer cells have been removed. So used as a preventive in coming back. In my case I have a low grade non invasive Urothelial carcinoma and my 'tumor' is flat and appears red. Even tho it is flat and was tested as non invasive he said he could not remove it and will treat it as CIS. I didn't really understand why but he has me set up for 6 treatments as discussed in the video. He also said although the red spot gave him concern he thought I had a good chance of knocking it out after the six are completed. I hope he knows what he is talking about. I will start my first treatment in 3 weeks.

I can find these terrifying publications from 2020, proclaiming a coming wave of un diagnosed bladder cancer "due to a lack of screening, from fear and complications, during the pandemic era" predicting "a second wave of post pandemic deaths". I can't however, find current studies, as i attempt different refinements on the terms. I know of several people having concerning symptoms, and physician responses which seem to be overlooking some of them; they were all vaccinated, only one i believe actually contracted the illness, itself.
