In the sixties a group of school leavers 16/17 started a band. Their first gig a local church, gear bus a wheel barrow, they called themselves „The Barrow Boys“ Pete York Rhythm Guitar, Dave Liddle Lead Guitar, Pete Sully Bass and Vocals, Mike Franklin Drums. Eventually called Thyme Flys them with Polydor changed name to Pete Sully and the Orchard (by then Pete York had left seas now a 3 man band). Often in the Studio, the 60‘s rocked for live bands. They toured UK, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium. Took part in talent contests but were too blues orientated. Dave was shit hot in Guitar, Pete as hot on Bass. Then 3 and 4 minute songs rapidly became 20 minute improvisations. We lived in each other’s pockets, knew what each other was thinking as we were never apart. Sometimes I look at the photos of the band. Pete Sully wrote his own material such as Evil Woman, which is now a cult song. RIP Dave. Shame I can’t upload old photos. Both you and Pete were a major part of my youth, we were a shit hot Band. Mike

I was 13 when i heard the Jam live at the Rainbow theater in 1979 on the "BBC rock hour." On a local radio station here in Chicago. Musical 🎼 mind officially blown. That black kid on the south side is 57 now, and love it still.

"Above the Clouds" by English singer-songwriter Paul Weller from his eponymously titled debut solo album, released in 1992 on the Polydor label. czcams.com/video/fJYHXN8bjwg/video.htmlsi=kwQyylrrZKr0JyB9 Lyrics: Autumn blew its leaves at me, Threatening winter as I walked Summer always goes so quick, barely stopping like my thoughts Which dip and spin and change so fast I have to wonder, will I last Through the windows of the train, I caught reflections of a paper cup, Hanging small in a pale blue sky, Never knowing which way's up Above the clouds, what's to be found, I have to wonder, will I be around As my anger shouts, at my own self doubt, So a sadness creeps, into my dreams When you're scared of living but afraid to die I get scared of giving and I must find the faith to beat it I must be me that's rushing by, Time just lingers on the wind. Bristlin' through my open fears, I wonder what it's going to bring Above the clouds, what's to be found, I have to wonder, will I be around Run and hide, run and hide I catch the sail at evening's tide

Still Amazing.... We were soooo lucky to have these gigs as kids!!! 13 year's old with mates..traveling into the city altogether...no chauffer driving mams and dads to drop us off and pick us up at the entrance....cramped in together...sharing each other's sweat...watching the heat exude from our bodies...Jam programme destroyed with moisture..Jam shoes stood a over and in front of us The Best Band in The Whole Fucking World!!!!... Coming out soaking wet...exhausted...sharing a bag of chips... running from the Skins trying to get the last train home...and all for just 3 quid a gig ticket...Thank you life... 'oh wasn't it such a fine time!!!'
