In the paint and coating industries, paint adhesion testing is often used to determine if the paint or coating will adhere properly to the substrates to which they are applied. Several tests measure the resistance of paints and coatings from substrates: cross-cut test, scrape adhesion, pull-off test, and others.

It depends on your client or ITP request. generally what is done before the hydro test is the final inspection, the final inspection including checking the final dimensions of the vessel, pneumatic test on pads, etc. Measurement of vessel dimensions before the hydro test is mandatory

Calculated, will be verified for hydrotest pressure using a vertical or horizontal position, which will involve gravity. Therefore, if the vessel uses an ASME stamp, the FORM U must be informed that the hydrostatic test is carried out in a vertical or horizontal position.
