This video is four years old. At the time, Nitrado was the ONLY option for a dedicated server. So yeah, at the time, it was defacto how to setup and manage a server. Things have changed. An updated video is coming sometime this year.

@@twip7502 When dedicated servers first came out, Nitrado was the only official option. As best as I've pieced together over the years from what the devs said, this had a lot to do with Microsoft and Sony having sway over what servers they would allow their consoles to connect to. I don't know the intricate details, but I get the impression a concession was made to use Nitrado exclusively for some time in order to ensure full cross-platform play (Switch version had not yet released at that point). How and why that opened up to other hosting services and even self-hosting, along with why Microsoft and Sony were fine with Nitrado but not others at the start... isn't really anything I know much about.

sounds like maybe you started that save before missions. They were definitely way easier to complete with an existing save than on a new one :)

@@VaingloriousGaming I did. I didn't expect the game to reset most of the chambers and all of the cores. I do like the rewards from the missions. when i stopped playing this save I started another save and got the rewards on that save.

I keep hearing that, but I tried it on both steam and xbox game pass and it didn't work. I originally included that info in the video, but removed it when I could not validate it first hand. I tried it several times on both platforms and, each time, the hydrazine just vanished from existence when the jet pack was shredded.

interesting. so if you've use the jump to load hydrazine into jet pack, it won't work. that explains why it never worked for me; I almost always do a little jump to get the hydrazine to auto-slot to the jet pack. but, if full canisters are the requirement, I dunno, doesn't seem worth including in the course, tbh. Seems like you'd just make a new canister of hydrazine rather than scrap your jet pack, yeah?

PREM suggests that gravity actually increases somewhat with depth, maxed out at the core-mantle boundary, and then dropping again in the core.

Also, the simple version of the proof just in case: in the center of the planet, all parts of said planet will pull with the same strength, but in different directions, canceling each other out. This means that there is absolutely no gravity in the center of a planet. As you go higher, the gravity must increase (due to the fact that there is gravity on the surface of the planet). It is reasonable to assume that gravity increases at a steady rate instead of there being sudden increases/decreases (a fact that can be proven with further reasoning). That means that, as you go up, gravity increases at a steady rate maxing out on the surface, a fact that is correctly showcased in the simulation.

Your theory that "harder rock" == "denser rock", isn't really correct: The density of granite (a pretty hard mineral) is 2600 kg/m³. The density of chalk (a much less hard rock) is 2700kg/m³

@@galaxyking2489 if you were using the repeaters, it can take a while. It all depends on where you placed them. The higher the byte value, the longer it takes the research samples to regenerate.

the Atrox installed platform is a fixed location, it will always be near gateway 3 on the equator. Some players have reported these platforms appearing partially or even fully buried, however. If you are confident there isn't one, well... your save could be bugged (unlikely if you found platforms on other planets) or you just haven't spotted it yet.

the one on Atrox is pretty easy. There are only four gateways on the equator, and that platform is going to be pretty much right next to one of those.

I feel that, I'm not thrilled that we cannot create or at least move these platforms. While the rover seat is kinda cool, you are absolutely right that it gets in the way of a drill and paver, so I don't use it either (I use the smaller rover seat anyway).

Thanks for pointing that out. Lesson learned: I shouldn't try to reference body styles at 4:30 in the morning. :) But, most of those visual mods still look out of place on this truck, even if it is a standard bed. ;)

I gotta disagree on that. I've never used landing pads and I have never had any issues with the snails missions.

Hydrazine is fairly simple to create, or you can just package a solid-fuel thruster for unlimited use. You have to go back to Sylva to verify them anyway. So I go to Desolo & Calidor, scan shells, go back and get the terrariums, then head back and collect the snails. Then back to Sylva. It's only a couple of extra trips. It comes down to a matter of preference. I'd rather not make the landing pads and make a couple of trips instead. I can gather four canisters of ammonium in about 10 minutes in the mantle, so hydrazine isn't a problem at all.

@@VaingloriousGaming p.s:using packagers makes solid fuel thrusters as efficient as hydrazine ones. however,you can throw away hydrazine canisters mostly used before they get used,because chemistry labs still see them as full

yeah, I've ran into a few duplicates of the installed platform and the parkade pad several times now.

Olive Green & Bleached Brown, I believe, with bleached brown as the pearl on the olive green.

that seems to be the one most people are having problems with, especially just finding crevasses to begin with, and then the strong change it is deep down inside of a crevasse. Some people have resorted to making a copy and going to creative mode and then putting a beacon on every crevasse region they find to make sure they are not backtracking, and then when they find it in creative, taking note of their location and then switching back to their regular copy of the save.

Even if your gateways are in the sky, the installed platform will still be very close to Gateway 3 on Atrox. It is one of two fixed locations for all of these.

I had something similar happen on one of my Vesania bases. Sort of a "wedge" of terrain that I removed a lonnnnng time ago when I flattened out the area for the base. The Parkade Pad ("truck stop") is fairly close by for me, though. I have numerous saves where the dark, hardest terrain is not under the parkade pads and installed platforms as it should be and, instead, somewhere near-ish, there's weird terrain deformation that wasn't there before.

I have seen other people say they have two of the surface vehicle bays in their save. I do also. I think it may be a bug. I just went all over the place in creative mode. No luck!! I do think I found every marble on the planet!

I just used Usagi tbh. One time I was driving a rover, all the others I used a VTOL. And yeah, I'm seeing duplicate Parkade Pads (vehicle bays) in some of my saves, but they still have all the other chips as well.

it's the deep, cracked, well... fissures. :) Reds and dark brown colors for the soil, a lot of the cracks in the ground are huge, and lead all the way down to the cave layer. It is not an uncommon region to encounter on Calidor.

​@@VaingloriousGaming After making 2 circles around the planet and not finding it I reload the game and go to the opposite side of the gateway chamber from the base and see an area I think looks like a fissure area even though the game doesn't show it to be one. I land and check the map. I see a green icon really close. When I drop down 1 level I almost land on it. Can't believe it was that close to the base. I still thank you for the video. The information I got from it has really helped me. Now to look for the second pad and hopefully get the chip that disappeared.

you can always just go to the north pole of Glacio and walk up to the installed platform with the xl canister on top; that should trigger the mission. Pickup the data circuit on that platform, and you'll kick off the mission for those as well.

@@pon986. if you go to the gateway at the north pole on Glacio, you should be able to just see it sitting there without using your compass to find it...

I think we all do. It'd be great to have in a base but so few of them spawn anywhere that building a base would be practical.

if you go too near a proximity sensor that is active, it can shut off your portable oxygenator. that's about the only thing I can think of that would turn it off.

@@VaingloriousGaming I have a couple of them at the base maybe that's what's doing it. I'll check the next time I load the game. Thank You. I did very little automation. A couple of them and a couple of extractors is pretty much the extent of my automation.
