All of Ohio is now under a combination of Heat Advisories and localized Excessive Heat Warnings are in effect across extreme northwest portions of the state. Through Saturday, actual highs between 95-99F will be common near Cincinnati, Columbus, and Akron. Parts of the state will see consecutive days with heat index values climbing above 100F. Similar conditions will be experienced throughout the Ohio Valley.

As someone who worked safety many years ago I can tell you that every time the economy/industry has a downturn safety is one of the areas that suffer. The old company line of “we gotta do these things to get the job done” to help the company get by, they know it’s not safe for the employees but it’s just until things get better.

You're not totally wrong, lol. The question was open-ended, so we were receptive to any thoughts, including communication channels, like you mentioned. Let us know if you have any thoughts there!
@@AlertMedia Thanks for the validation! I guess the method would really depend on the emergency and the location. Obviously, a tornado warrants a siren, followed by tv and radio updates. Maybe a loud speaker on a beach when warning about a tsunami? I still remember where I was when I heard about the twin towers attack. A girl in our office was listening to music on her radio at her desk when they broke in with the news. We heard her gasp followed by OMG, OMG!. Everyone stopped working to listen to the report. Eventually we had to go back to work, but she would update us and we would stop to listen to the radio. I also got a call from a friend who knew I would be upset. So, 2 modes of communication right there. Tv coverage as well, telling everyone to stay away, do not come looking for loved ones. It was devastating, but we needed to know. At the time, they did the best they could to communicate. I don't think just one method of communication meets the need for all.

you forgot to mention adults with sensory sensitivities to the loud fire alarms, as this may cause this person problems with anxiety leading up to a possible case of ptsd from the loud alarms, and need special accommodations like, being exempt from the drill (if legal), and depending on the circumstances.
