I know that I am commenting on this way late, but I thought this was an amazing lecture. My take away was that we have to continue to teach our students to memorize sacred scripture, prayers, catechism, etc. They need this storehouse not only to access information quickly and fluidly but to habituate virtue of which wisdom is the highest intellectual form.

May I suggest to the curious minds, please look up scientic facts in Quran. you dont need to find quran to do that, just google it. and view various websites and then decide how can anyone have known this 1400 years ago, if not only God.

Love Ms Lev's presentation. One point on her comment on Caravaggio's Entombment though. Mary is often portrayed as young even in things like the Pieta with an adult Jesus, but I don't think this is accidental or biased against an aged Mater Ecclesiae, but because Mary is free from original sin. Going to do a terrible job explaining that though. Adam & Eve did not show their age until some years after the fall. The corrupting influence of the Fall leads to the kind of aging we're all familiar with. Mary is 'Full of Grace', having lost none of the graces we all lost in the Fall, therefore it is possible she did not age the same way we do.

Sadly he thinks the Big Bang is true. There is more science and disagreement among scientists of the Big Bang theory. The Multi-Verse or “multiple universes” is completely unscientific and is simply a wild idea with even less evidence. Genesis doesn’t even allow for billions of years. He created it all in the first 6 days. That is history according to GOD. The earth was there even before the stars. Time was created at that point and GOD tells us there will be end to time. He also appears to believe in macro evolution which isn’t scientific either. That is essentially a molecules to man theory which doesn’t work. Changes within a kind is scientific. Dogs are example having a common ancestor that there are now many variations. Entropy increases, that is the universe less orderly than in the beginning. It is also headed towards a heat death, more disorder. Everything is running down. Evolution tells us in the beginning was less order and things have become more advanced, more complex. This man has good things to say, but with multi-verse, Big Bang, and billions of years…It doesn’t agree with Gods creation.

Its possible to have a past infinite universe, its possible for something eternal to begin creating things. Time is the most interesting and elusive thing that we have in this life. No one knows when they will die and no know when their children or family members will be born. What matters is that everything was created, because we can see that in living. Humans are gods with a small G. We create things and make things every single day, why is it so hard to believe that there is a supreme being that is like us Who also created and started creating things on a greater scale.

Since we cannot measure the spiritual or ideal, we assume the mind is not seeing it. If we could measure it, all the correlations between brain and mind would be similar to those between eye and sight. Similarly, if we couldn’t measure light, we could conclude with equal validity (actually lack of validity) that the eye equals sights as some people conclude that the brain equals the mind-world of ideas and consciousness and spirit etc.

The reason Biblical anthropology cannot fit into a monist or dualist framework is because reality itself is impossible to fit into either. Logic appears to dictate the ontologies must be one or two (or three), but somehow they are not. Reality, including especially God, is ineffable. It is not one, and not two. Unified and manifold? Between panentheism and an Omnipresent dualism? Cannot be conceptualized. Period. Truth of the soul / body(and brain) is neither Descarte nor Aquinas, but in between. We cannot engage in conceptual manipulation without the tool of the brain, only raw notions. Still a self without a body, but a deeply disabled one. We need a body to be useful and feel complete.

Dear Brother, I very much agree with you in what you have described . But I strongly believe that the existing pattern of God should manifest it's Far Better Version of Itself so that Needy Talented Persons who have provided services to the country and thus to mankind may lead dignified life and for that the respective Government and people of the country to which such a needy talented person belongs must Adopt A Good Human Being program by virtue of which the person should be given a decent package of Subsistence Allowance on Monthly basis so that he Can Remain Alive Well and can keep providing better service to the society, country and the world 🌎. Gavin seems to getting all of his stuff from Catholic theologians. One wonders why he doesn't join them in the source of their inspiration, by becoming a Catholic.

Atheists are delusional because there is no risk for monotheists, 1: if wrong they would simply not exist after death. 2: if right they are freed of the shackles of mortal limitations. If you don't want to believe in God it's your choice to make but you need to understand that you are taking on alot of risk (chances are you have a higher probability of being wrong then right but both are equally valid as probabilities) (that is not including polytheistic beliefs) I understand wanting to go against that which is a commonly held view but please if you except any beliefs just because authority told you that it is true please go out and do research on the subject for yourself it doesn't even need to be religious text so I suggest looking at quantum physics after all that is a field of science.
