I have a shack in St. Michael
where I live all by myself,
what good is this shack
if I dwell there all alone
I sit on my bench in the evening,
smoking my tobacco pipe,
watching the valleys and the mountains
but what good does it do if I’m all alone.
There is still some consolation,
I won’t be alone for too long,
I’ll find me a bride, a lovely wife,
and then I shall not be alone!
