@@EpicWeightloss I was trimming under plates that supports the overhang. Unsupported quartz can crack easily if overhung (cantilevered) and they recommend plates. Right. But that’s a cop out. I always felt like I had to be fake and be something I’m not around him or be the spotlight for taking insult beatings. Starting in 2020, I realized he was only a hindrance when it came to things and it was in my best interest to meet new people and forget about people I gave too much of a chance to in the past. Because I never had a filter before but having a filter brings self respect. He had painted a model in my brain that somehow it was race or something about them. For example, he talked about white people often saying like “their culture is they are lazy and they talk in boring ways and that’s because of being white or being uncultured or strict in a way that they don’t appreciate art or they never learned to be tough, lots of misconceptions.” In reality, there are inherent things that make something a certain way. We can’t generalize like this. For example, I used to think my mom being white was boring and that she was poor with her finances and she could “trick herself out of where she is”. Everyone’s situation is different and everyone is at a different place in their life that may cause them to be a certain way. It’s better to accept that and appreciate it than to try to force change on someone. That actually made me, in effect, afraid of my white friends or people and make me think they have hidden motives. It was unconscious, but, looking back, it made me scared of trying hard to achieve things asssociated with white people. For example, I had a white algebra 1 teacher and I was all in for math. But I would treat him like an enemy instead of just chilling out and being rational like how I am, which led to him not giving logical answers strangely and making me fail the assignments. This was ALL unconscious. It’s crazy to think how all this being raised had an effect on certain things.

Last time I saw him (father) in 2023, he brought his boyfriend and back then I was 50lbs heavier. I was aware I needed to lose weight. But that was between myself and I. Im just pointing out an instance of negativity that I don’t want to associate with. His Boyfriend called me the “fat one” while my brother was the “skinny one”. What a way to ruin someone’s day. And he was trying to make contrast between the way things used to be in 2011 versus 2023. I’m also guilty of making fun of people when I was younger, but I don’t think I deserve this kind of thing or deserve to let myself be exposed to this negativity regularly. Best to move on.

@@Rayquesto it sounds like he created a pretty toxic environment for you. I think that realization of him being a hinderance must have been pretty profound and it's great you realized that and separated yourself from that. When we're young and have always depended on our parents that can be scary to do, at least it was for me when I finally decided to move out. My situation wasn't that bad but I realized I needed my own space and most of all my own freedom. I've heard that before, of white people having no culture. I don't understand it because it seems impossible to not have a culture? They way we are raised and the experiences passed down to us become our culture. It may not be the same culture of someone from South America but we still have a culture. I sometimes catch myself thinking Latin people are just consumed with sex and partying and have no concern for tomorrow. That seems more irresponsible to me than calling it a culture. Maybe the USA being built on Christian principles makes people think it's boring?

@@Rayquesto geez that's pretty f'ed up for someone to say to another person. It's like he's dehumanizing you and you are only known by physical attributes. Which seems typical for someone that's gay. It's all about the physicality and not actual love however they always preach "love is love"... I heard this quote recently, "To love is to will the good of the other" and it was kind of an eye opener for me. Made me think of how people treat me that say they love me and it also made me realize what love means when I want to show it. I could talk about this stuff for hours. I'd like to be this open on video but I feel like I can't do it.

I haven’t been. So much to explore in SF man. I always go seeing something new. I believe Sausalito county includes my favorite beach, Stinson. Stinson beach makes you feel like you are a new man everytime. It’s a refreshing feeling.

In fact I feel this way in many areas in the Bay Area. I used to live in Foster City in luxury apartments near the bridge 92. If you want to look up the interior of the actual apartment, google foster city triton apartments. There’s a website that you can see everything. It looks similar to what I’m doing. There was a spot people biked and ran at I would exercise at. The luxury apartment had everything; that’s why everything I’m doing at my apartment is like a copy cat of that. I remembered every detail. Built in late 2018, and it had those glass backsplash, under cabinet lighting, recessed lights, those same cabinet fronts, quartz countertop, etc. I’m glad I had that experience to remember everything and be able to recreate ir myself in a sense.

@@Rayquesto I googled those apartments, yeah they look really nice and I like the modern style! That's a really good idea to copy something like that, I'm sure they probably paid a lot of money to designers to figure out the decor theme. I used to work at Havertys furniture and still friends with the designer there so I typically consult her for advice, I'm terrible at design! I think I went to that beach you're talking about, took some photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, didn't go swimming though.

@@EpicWeightloss I am persistently spending hours using a utility blade to take out the mastic at the seams before I grout. Probably have to grout another day. And thank you!!! This is a lot of hard handy work. Haha Like a good back work out.

@@EpicWeightloss and I believe the vitamin D had nothing to do to do with the palpitations, but that’s just my opinion. Lack of Potassium could have been it. I would always try to recommend 10000 ius of vitamin d3 to everyone as rda.

@@EpicWeightloss Update on the countertop: I visited their office at lunch and they were waiting for me like a job interview. The manager was upset at his staff for misleading me. He said "just pay $300 and we will install it for you. It would be illegal to let you cut the quartz for the sink. We will waive installation fee". Big win!!!!

@@EpicWeightloss thanks for watching and your support and comment. The residual mastic should not have an effect on the glass, but we will see. Haha the mastic doesn’t leave any coloring behind it as far as I can tell or anything like that. It kind of resembles clay or mud.

Yeah. I am estimating how much space will be required and installing the glass tile backsplash off that. If there is a variation from that, it will be small and I can grout, cut more small tile to fill those gaps or make rough cuts if I over did it (I hope this doesn't happen). Yes. It is definitely an aphrodisiac. The oysters. I'll have to try Paella. Let's just say after eating oysters, I get a strong urge for a booty call. haha But usually this translates into being motivated to go to the gym and do particular exercises like ab or bicept curls.... ones related to vanity. haha Overall the zinc and iron from the oyster provides a nutritional value that makes you feel less clouded or your muscles feel more useful all the time and your body feels more coordinated. I can feel the difference.

So, I spoke with the lady I made the transition with and she said it will actually be $1.1k to install. I paid $1.1k for the countertop. I'm just going to install it myself with certain precautions and rental equipment. I'm going to get a ramp to get into the home (make it over the step at the entrance of the condo) and one of those flat dollies to transport to the edge of the plywood where the counter is, then lift slightly and rotate until it bears on the cabinets and then slide it on. I'll have 2 more people working with me.

@@RAYRAYDAY that's a good deal on the countertop! I guess I'd try to install it myself too if the install price is equal to the cost. I can't speak to how to install it but I'm sure there's lots of tutorials on CZcams, so I'm sure you'll be alright!

@@EpicWeightloss I’m going all in. Quartz countertop. The backsplash will be a glossy fossil looking design with a black tint. This is my condo that I bought for $125k. I will be renting a room out to a roommate for $1000/month. After that, I’ll save up money to buy a house close by that is all brand new!

@@EpicWeightloss Crossing my fingers the interest rates will decrease dramatically. I'm strapped in for both directions. I paid the principal mortgage down to $60k after 4 years of living there. Market price is about $230k. So, if it goes down, I'm more likely covered, goes up I am covered, but my hope is the rents would go up too so I can get more capital to invest in new house in the high market. But low market is definitely preferable to me even if my condo value goes down. I almost let my 2019/2020 greediness get the best of me and purchase another one of these. The reason it is greedy is I was allured by the investment opportunity over a Ramsey defensive way of looking at things. I ALMOST BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE. I am so glad I didn't and learned how I am better able to handle this stuff over those 4 pandemic years. My greedy self would have told me I am a dumbass for not using that $20k of renovation on one property to buy 3-4 of these units. I hope you understand my moral and rationale for highly investing in one (increasing the value) and then getting rent before buying a brand new house with that capital.

@@RAYRAYDAY yeah I got ya, there's nothing wrong with investing your money and I don't think it would be greedy if you did buy more than 1 unit. You worked for what you have and you're smart with money. Besides that though, maybe it did work out best with just 1 through the pandemic, you could've potentially lost them all perhaps.

@@EpicWeightloss I am most certain those would have foreclosed and I would have gone bankrupt like Ramsey's story. There is another guy who bought one of these condos trying to do the same thing in early 2000s, he said it is the same street same lot area I am at! His name is Casey Constantine. He is on youtube and went bankrupt, buying like 100 condos and it went belly up just like what happened with Dave Ramsey. He was also on Dr Phil show. I do think it is a form of hidden greed that is difficult to detect, ie buying as many rentals as possible at the lowest purchase price(3% downpayment) and not caring about things like equity or the quality of the rental. Casey is now a very successful real estate agent. I would buy with him.

The visuals are no different than driving across the 92 bridge (San Mateo/Foster City SF Bay Area) where I used to work and there are street lights every 2ft. Song is Night Cruising. No wonder I like to speed.

@@EpicWeightloss haha Not many alterations were made. No structural or plumbing alterations were made. The only alteration I made are electrical. I probably needed a permit for that, but I went ahead and did it anyway. Small alteration.

Thank you. I usually get a haircut once every 3 months to save money. This place I go to is called sport clips and costs $37 everytime I go in. They do a good job. That may also be why I Steve Jobs my clothing choices; once I get comfortable with one set of clothes, I tend to wear the same thing pretty routinely. Unless it is unsanitary. Some sense of conservation. Like not wanting to rock the boat to have the mentality of saving money or being a minimalist.

@@Rayquesto ah yeah I get ya, I think there's sport clips here in Florida too. I'm still debating what I like with my own haircut. I like the short messy look however my face is too round for short hair, maybe when I lose more weight I'll go back to it. Right now I try to make my hair taller to make my face look longer. I know haircut expense adds up but if they make you look more attractive then it's a worthy cost I think. Maybe you can try a cheaper smaller shop barber, take a selfie and show them so they know what you like.

There’s a new model that comes with its own receptacle, but I recommend swapping out there wiring nuts with tan or yellow ones, especially if you have more than two wires going in you’re connecting. @@EpicWeightloss Yes. My overall goals have been achieved. I’m at about 15-17% body fat, waist is about 34”, I’m 5’-10.5” tall, my weight is about 165-167lbs, I feel great everyday and able to wake up early and sleep well at night. My lowest was 156lbs when I decided to do the 7 day fast and you can see this on CZcams. I took videos of the 7 day fast. I used to be about 210-215lbs (June-July of last year 2023) at my heaviest and somehow the doctor measured my waist at 45”. My pants felt uncomfortable and I generally felt uncomfortable and my ex used to tell me I’m stupid for thinking I was fat. She herself is and was obese (about 200# at a height of 4’-9”) and has a terrible diet, addicted to hot Cheetos and candy. Her thing was sitting on my couch and eating candy, popsicles, ice cream and the like while watching Jersey shores, some dating shows involving big Ed and his love for Malbec wine and this pathetic nerd who got fat and would find these Latina dates but only because he had money and his mom helped him with 99% of tasks in his life. These shows were called like 90 day fiancé and idr. What’s crazy is when my ex left, I found stacks of desserts that she didn’t eat. Hagen das, Ben and Jerry’s, some popsicles etc. Basically, I started weight loss when I decided to STOP listening to my ex and just live how I want to. I trusted her advice too much. Even so that I could have done these renovations 4 years ago in 2020, but she kept saying “wait until we leave”. When I was heavier, I was addicted to Dunkin’ Donuts, eating McDonald’s and fast food basically every other day and I would drink alcohol too much (I would open a beer/corona when I got home). I would get little Cesar’s pizza about once every other week thinking I was healthy doing that. I was also verbally abusive to my ex and got upset easily. The only thing I would be doing next for goals is getting to below 10% body fat just so I can get more tinder/ dating matches… kidding. I think life is not about being so vein.

@@Rayquesto wow yeah you've done great for yourself then, I think that sounds like a healthy body fat percentage. The relationship with your ex sounded a little toxic, sounds like she didn't support you at all in being healthy as she couldn't support herself either. It's probably best you got away from someone like that. Sounds like you were really addicted to food, I also had bad habits of eating out too much. At least you were able to find the strength to get out of that lifestyle and become a lot healthier. And yeah, it's not worth being that vein over physical looks. I know it's probably cliche but beauty is only skin deep, people who only want to date you for your looks are probably not really in love.

@@Rayquesto I have never watched that show but I've seen memes of the fat guy with no neck. I know what you mean, it's like you're watching a dumpster fire and can't look away. I feel bad for people who are wasting their lives and can't find the strength to change. But at the same time it kind of gives you motivation to do better. @@EpicWeightlossyeah the entire show is meme-able. One person that leaves reviews for those shows is TSR live the sharp reality on CZcams. His name is Donovan sharpe. He also lost a lot of weight after a bad relationship like in 2014. His wife/gf is not bad looking to me, but a lot of people talk crap about him and compare his gf to a pig, because they think he talks like he’s full of it. I hope I never ever come across that way. Haha But he is entertaining from time to time. Aaron clarey is my favorite from that “red pill” space. He is a keto guy, but he will never say it. Aaron clarey The girl im seeing now is a bit older and has his gfs build. She is not bad. What I mean is when they dress up and wear tight clothes like he has her put on, you won’t want to say no to anything 😂 and huge bazoomas. Aaron clarey oftentimes talks about that too. “Women men want a women with big… and an azz that backs up into…. Go to the gym!!!” Haha Honestly, having ladies around that are attractive can and does motivate you to have your mind stay focused on being fitter. It’s a bit of a natural incentive in my opinion. So, Aaron clarey often explains we don’t even have attractive women for the most part around anymore due to obesity epidemic which compounds itself.

Quartz countertops. Yes. It will look really nice. Waiting for the cabinets to arrive during next week around 7/15/24 and until then I’m demoing and doing some wiring for 3 recessed lights and under cabinet lighting. Also, I may need to add in a new cartridge to the breaker for the over the range microwave and wire for that. I’m glad my company gives us 3 weeks of pto. I’m using 1 week of pto next week. It’s been a ride to do all this stuff while working. I just bought the countertops today and they said they will deliver it the day after I ask for them to bring it. I have to drill in holes in the quartz countertops for sink and faucet and transport that 230lbs slab. Super heavy. Still figuring out how that’s gonna work. Haha

Regardless, you're doing good bro, sometimes relationships just aren't meant to be. This life is short so you need to focus on whatever makes you feel fulfilled and in control!

@@EpicWeightloss Right. I will look up Diderot Effect. Maybe it’s exactly what I’m going through. Basically, what I’m discovering that if I don’t intentionally try to stay home/work and stay away from society, it’s too easy for me to spend money or get into trouble that would cost money down the line. I know it is my fault but I got my first traffic ticket in my entire life (speeding ticket) which was $400. what a waste of money… haha and all the restaurants and drinks when going out also added up. I believe everything was about $2000 in the last 2 months of socializing. I’ve mentioned in the video that I think it’s because the more social you are, the more your brain changes structurally. So, you lose control in a sense of your judgment on how you spend money or judgement of other aspects that leads to costly choices. You could also go out and be a loner in the corner without being open to all this, but I don’t count that as socializing. I do believe there is a price tag to true socialization. And it’s interesting to note the CZcamsr I mentioned does discuss “even though I tell you to go out, I still don’t know how to engage in socialization”. Now, I know my father somehow being gay mastered the art of not drinking, not spending money and yet going out and socializing a bit. I guess some can do it.

@@Rayquesto that's ironic you got a ticket because I also got one on my recent trip to Mississippi... I was going 87 in a 70...I have a lead foot 🤷‍♂️ I commented on one of my videos recently about our 3rd place. Our 1st place is home, 2nd work and 3rd place it where we socialize (think Central Perk on Friends). Nowadays we don't have a 3rd place and more people don't have a 2nd place as we work remote now... It's important to social and I do realize that typically requires spending money but perhaps you can get creative on spending less. For me my improv has been a great outlet and a new way to socialize. If you want to go to a bar try to buy less drinks or maybe just go to a friend's house and hang out there.

@@EpicWeightloss Sounds like you are not guilty. I am. I have been developing a habit of going around 100mph at night to get home when I had too many drinks. And that caught up to me. Don’t tell the police. Haha But I learned my lesson. Like Justin Timberlake trial, I explicitly told the officer “just one drink”. Thank god no breathelizer test or suspicion of being drunk. Phew. No dui!

Thanks for listening! I came up with a series of notes last night just to see. Sounds like I got it for the most part.

It’s almost there man. And thank you. Time is often spent swinging back and forth getting tools and fasteners and what have you. It would be helpful if I can say “can you grab me that over there?” But it is what it is. And that time adds up to hours that feels more like a waste of time. Now I could use a carpenters waist bag, but you have to make sure you pack everything in there before going for the particular action that’s part of the project. You’re not just having to literally hang from your waist. That would be crazy.

One thing in which I was not in control during this time was when it was 10:30pm after eating chipotle 2 nights ago, I determined the existing switch after I rewired was controlling the dishwasher instead of the garbage disposal. So, I figured that I had to switch a hot wire somewhere across existing outlet and switch. I didn’t check what I was doing and when I switched, I accidentally switched the hot wires to create a loop within itself (a short circuit). When I tested the switch, sparks flew, the breaker tripped and I found out the breaker switch controlling that wiring died (it was already 50 years old zinsco). I felt out of control but I took the time to figure out what was. Had to shell out $60 for a replacement. Should be easy to replace at the breaker.

@@EpicWeightlossit’s a thinking game for sure. Once I didn’t think about what I was doing, I screwed up. I guess I am making up for my feelings of weakness when I took electrical engineering in 2014. That was the first engineering course I took and I never even needed to take it because I ended up doing civil engineering. The class involved breadboards, multimeters and oscilloscopes. Back then, I didn’t have a philosophy of being practical and was too theoretically oriented. So, I felt inferior about using all that. Ever since I started a career, my life approach became just the opposite where it’s more about execution. Tony Robbin’s books also helped me see that. I read his “money master the game” and followed an electrical engineer CZcams channel called “kiss my ass university” in 2016. So, I used to be in groups and had others handle the practical stuff, but I am finding that with electrical, it’s ALL thinking compared to say like dry wall install or painting. One thing I learned or I guess became more aware of doing this project is that when you do wiring, you don’t want to look at the flow of electricity in terms of looping wires, but how it jumps across hot to neutral (or black to white). For some reason, I made a fundamental mistake trying to wire based on how electricity flows throughout the wire, but I already know the current flows from high potential to low potential from school.
