Steve Irwin was and will always be my idol. There are very few people I put on the pedestal with him. Desmond is one of the people. I'm glad he got a movie made about his incredible story and I hope his legend never dies

This is beautiful to see. I tend to have negative views toward religion for personal reasons, but Pvt. Doss reminds me that there are people out there who are truly Chirist-like. Desmond and the rest of history deserve to be remembered, and he deserved all these gifts and more. I just hope he had a good, fulfilling life.

Dude.. thank you SO MUCH for putting this together and posting it!! I feel so privileged to watch this. I especially liked watching how excited Doss was when he saw his comrades he served with come in. He didn't smile when the announcer is calling him a hero. But when he saw the men he served with, he completely lights up! It's so touching to see! I also really enjoyed watching the advertisements that you left in. Those were so interesting to me to watch. So much changes, so much stays the same. Seriously, thank you so so much for posting this!

You don't have to be a Seven Day Adventist or even religious to admire a man sticking to his principles. I only learned about Desmond yesterday and I'm glad I did.

Why did it take a film to make this guy so well known? The very ebodymeny of a hero

To imagine all the men that survived because of my beloved Desmond Doss, but to think of all of the generations that would have never been... I often find myself thinking about my Maternal Grandfather and how he was wounded in WW2, in Italy. His men gave him a shot of Morphine and placed him under wood planks in the floor of an abandoned barn. They said "Zeller we'll be back to get you as soon as we can." I try to imagine the terror he must have felt, but it's not possible. His men were able to come back safely around 12hrs. later to get him out. Brotherhood. Something else that I try to understand, but never will grasp what that means. Maybe I put myself through this because of guilt that so many fought, suffered and died and then fight with those memories when they return home for my freedom. Freedom so many take for granted. My Grandfather took a construction job in Hazard, KY. after the war and met my Grandmother in the diner where she worked as a waitress. The men ate there everyday. After 4 months the job was complete and he proposed. They settled in Indiana and had 5 children. My mother was the youngest. I am here because of God's will, but because my Grandfather made it home, thanks to his own strength and determination, but his brothers in arms. Something I will always be in awe of, but sad that war has to exist. God Bless all of our Veterans. Without them we wouldn't have the freedom to enjoy this amazing footage. I know that you are at peace, the one and only Desmond Doss the true definition of a selfless hero. 🙏🏻❤️

I had the opportunity to visit Desmond T. Doss's clinic in Hawaii when I was stationed there, but it was only recently that I discovered his inspiring story. His journey filled me with hope, both for the world and for myself. It's incredible to think that such a compassionate pure hearted man existed, a true testament to the presence of a loving God. He was undoubtedly a modern saint! If only more people could hear his story, we might be able to create a better world.

What an incredible human being, he deserved everything they gave him and then some. On a side note, the gleem commercial was hilarious 😂

Just watched 'Hecksaw Ridge' movie and holds huge respect for brave soul. My head bows in respect for every war hero who fought for sovereignty of his nation and for humanity. May lord blesses this brave soul. 🇮🇳

Am British and ex military and we always say where better than the US and banter back and forth, but hands down I would say this man is one of the bravest if not The bravest men to ever live. They should've bought him his land and let him live tax free for what he did. Outstanding I wouldn't have the guts to go into war without a weapon I salute you sir and hope you have your peace in heaven.
