Thanks for this video. It is very helpful.
Thanks Wayne
Thanks Wayne everyone loves your videos thanks for your teaching you brought alot too my attention i started playing making noises lol 😆 about 5 years ago its hard unless your taught you ine of the best teacher's
So awesome. The breakdown makes it so thought provoking and powerful. It's not just notes, it's from your soul. So much to to learn. Thank God for you and your talent.
A fine tune, thanks Wayne.
thanks Wayne, I'll try it out, this brings to mind I used to play Tillery Cove all the time, maybe you could do a video on that too sometime 😊
Great improv Wayne always playing in WIScOnSiN 😅
I took your suggestion and listened to this on Spotify. Great to see how you play it. The haunting melody is very thought provoking... especially considering the title! Thanks again for your good work and your generosity with your talent!
Sweet tone, Wayne
This came up in my shuffle the other day on the road and I immediately recognized it as a slightly altered version of what used to be your intro. Cool tune.
Yep. I used a demo version of this as the intro music for WWoM for a while. Good ear Keith!
Great lesson... a recent/current fav of mine... i swear i cant hear a bass track in the recording even w my earbuds in
Thx! Glad you like this song pal. The bass is there but it could've definitely been louder in the mix without getting in the way.
Thanks Wayne for another great video! I always enjoy them. They have helped me learn more to add to my playing.
I'm glad to know the channel is a help! Thx for the comment.
Thanks Wayne moving forward sometimes I feel like I'm blocked just trying not to over think things and just let my hands do it practicing this all week
I know what you're saying for sure. If you practice these fills enough they really can evolve into muscle memory. You'll get to the point that you could "play it in your sleep" as they say. Good luck!
That's a cool instructional! I think you should do the slow version first and then a fast version right after, to make the video even more interesting!
Yep. Go to the channel and watch the full video and I think you'll find exactly what you need. 😉
Loving these shorts. More tools in the toolbox with easy access for reference.
Thx pal. I'm certainly trying to use the optimal section of the video when I create the short. These are way more time consuming to create than I would've guessed.
I’ve recently purchased a mandolin after playing the guitar for years. My picking and fretting is strong but your videos have made a huge difference in helping me visualize how to navigate the mandolin. Great stuff!! Thank you for your help
I'm always glad to hear that the channel is a help. Good luck with the mandolin and thx for the comment.
So helpful! Thanks, Wayne.
You're very welcome Andy. Plenty more like this in our future for sure.
Thanks. Nice and clearly explained.
You're welcome Gaston. Try this with a blues or dorian backing track.
@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 A-dorian mode; G major scale, starting on the second. Nicely done Wayne. I've been doing this forever purely on instinct, you clarified the musical structure behind what I was doing, so that it makes perfect sense.
Quick and to the point! Nice one!
Yep. If you already know the closed position blues scale this is a relatively simple addition to it. Anyone who doesn't can find it in the Learn the Fretboard Playlist. Thx for the comment!
Great helping of veggies buddy
Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you Wayne and Happy Fathers Day.
You're welcome and thx for the Fathers Day wishes! Hope you had a great one as well.
I'm going to conquer this if it kills me
Rock on Sam! You'll get it.
Aaaah, the good old hillbilly ukelele. I love this instrument
Really loving the shorts pal
Great. Creating these has definitely introduced the channel to new people.
Love the way you have these playlist. Good stuff Wayne, thanks
Thx Sam! It definitely helps to locate content when the channel is organized that way.
I like your great tips on taking breaks on this beloved song, which our jam group plays a lot. We have some strong singers.
Thx for the comment Gwenn. It's great that you guys actually play this in jam sessions. Many great bluegrass singers never memorize the lyrics to this song.
Love the instant access. Appreciate you so much.
You bet pal. Thx for the comment.
That is a really good exercise. Thank you
Thx Sam! It sure has been productive for me to alternate between fast and slow tempo when working on fast tunes.
What song is this intro ??? And who ?? It’s amazing!
Thx for the comment John! All of the different intros feature different tunes that I recorded at home just documenting some of my ideas. Stay tuned for a video featuring Donner Pass next week. You'll recognize it from the channel and it's also the latest release from the Benson project.
Great lesson!
Thx for that comment Cecille! More content concerning modes is in our future. Stay tuned.
Nice lesson however, you show the root in the fifth as the starting point, but it would’ve been helpful if you would’ve pointed out the other notes that you are playing around with as well. You got us all started, but did not outline the next steps. Maybe the next video!
Thx for the comment. Check out my video on Chain Triads here on the channel. It might be exactly what you're looking for. I have a playist called Learn the Fretboard that could be very useful. Sure hope this helps.
Great stuff!
Glad you liked it!
Can’t say enough about the amount of good information in your videos. Thanks!
You're welcome sonomabob 🙂
Can't help noticing that you that you strum or maybe even pick at different places.
Yep. Trying to pull different tones depending on the phrase I'm playing. You can experiment with this right hand technique while playing one of our interval exercises. Two birds with one stone.
I want to comment that it can't be that easy. Very cool. Thanks Wayne.
You're welcome Sam. Check out the full video for more detail.
@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 You can bet I will.
Such fun helpful lessons. Thanks.
Yep. This sure is a fun intro to play. Glad you find this to be helpful.
Love this! I always get so much out of your lessons. Thank you.
You're very welcome Andy. Thx for the comment.

Saul Goodman
Thx for the comment. There's so much to learn from Sam Bush!
Cool!
Thanks again buddy for sharing your talent.
You're very welcome. Glad you like the channel 😀
Amazing lesson. Thanks
You're welcome Tim. 😊
Keep coming back to this. At first, I didn't think I could ever get that practice sequence down I can get through it all the way now, even going from the D7 back to the G. With the cadence. This has been the most beneficial lesson I've watched so far. I was barely able to chop at all before. It hurt a little bit getting there, as they say, no pain no gain. I need to clean it up a lot, but I've actually surprised myself. Many thanks, Wayne.
That's great Sam! Keep it up pal.
This lesson is great! Clear and easy to follow. Thanks for what you do.
Glad you liked this video and thx for the comment. More vids like this are in our future.
Super lesson. So logical those four shapes. And to think, I never thought about it like that before! Thanks.
Thx for watching and for the comment Gaston. Stay tuned for more.
Thanks for the great lesson. As a beginner, can you point me toward what @karlpayton522 said below about this being practical?....how do I use it now?
Thank you for a logical and clearly explained exercise, Wayne. Eating our veggies is fun when it's so immediately practical. And please share my thanks with your amazing wife for the Benson project. My new satellite radio has a repeat mode that gets used every time I catch "Lay 'em Down" on Bluegrass Junction. Y'all are a true blessing!
Thanks so much for those kind words Karl! I'm delighted that you enjoy WWoM and the Benson project. You can check out the latest single on Spotify or wherever you stream music. It's an original instrumental of mine called Donner Pass. I'll be posting a breakdown of the melody in a couple of weeks here on the channel.
Positive reinforcement and so much more. Always a step ahead. Up for the challenge my friend. 😊
Sounds great pal. It's so important to have attainable material that presents a challenge.
Amazing material, feeling so blessed. Thank you so much Wayne!
You're very welcome Medicineman! More is on the way.
Very nice😎
