    I don't need to replace the Awning Winder. I just want to clean the fly wire screens. The window winder casing makes it impossible to remove the screens. The builder tells me that I need to remove the winder to get the fly wire screens off. That seems ridiculous - and a fault in terms of the size of the fly wire screens when they were made. Can you shed some light on this please?

      Once the rollers on both ends have had the screws loosened it is simply a case of lifting the roller off the track it is sitting on and then lowering the door back down and out from the head of the door. The track is basically a stirrup that the wheel or roller of the screen door sit on. Kind regards Dempsey

    How to replace the rivet type handle? How to remove the rivet?

    • @JasonWindowsWA
      @JasonWindowsWA Před 2 lety

      Hi Eng, the current handles are not rivetted on they are screwed on. On the old casement window handles there is an angle the provides support that is rivetted on, is this possibly what you mean? To remove any rivet it is just a case of drilling through the centre of the rivet and the rivet will release. If drilling out a rivet it is important to use a drill bit that is not bigger that the rivet you intend to put back in there as the hole will be too large and the rivet will not hold. Kind regards Dempsey

    I'm Sorry, This only hides the problem. It does very little to solve the problem, even Jasons Windows own documentation states "Jason Windows has no control over the manifestation of the corrosive agents and is therefore unable to guarantee that the corrosion will not return. ". In my case the "corrosion" is eating out the sides of window frames. I have been advised that the only permanent solution is to have the Windows frames professionally removed and replaced at thousands of dollars in costs.

    • @JasonWindowsWA
      @JasonWindowsWA Před 6 lety

      Hi Colin, the intent of the video is to show how to treat corrosion once visual. Unfortunately, corrosion of aluminium is difficult to eliminate completely once it appears, preventative maintenance is always the best practice to help avoid corrosion in the first place.

    • @Boerseun
      @Boerseun Před 4 lety

      @@JasonWindowsWA corrosion is starting on most of my 20 year old frames too. If you say preventative maintenance, what does that entail? And what is the Neutra Solution you talk about in the video? I understand it to be a solution with a pH of 7. Would it help preventing corrosion by spraying it around the frames on a 6-monthly basis?

    • @JasonWindowsWA
      @JasonWindowsWA Před 4 lety

      @@Boerseun sorry for the delayed response. The Neutra product is used to neutralise the corrosion and stop further damage. Neutra has a PH of 10 which reduces the acidity that has built up in the brickwork only one of the factors that causes corrosion. Regularly cleaning down your window frames and the brickwork around them reduces the build up of chlorides in the brickwork.Please refer to our Maintenance Guide for more information on maintenance and cleaning of your Jason frames and glass. jasonwindows.com.au/service-maintenance/cleaning-maintenance/ As corrosion is caused by the environment the window system is exposed to, it's important to follow the guide and clean as often as recommended for you environment. • @JasonWindowsWA
      @JasonWindowsWA Před 4 lety

      @@nickh6180 Aluminium usually forms a natural barrier against corrosion due to its ability to quickly form a surface layer barrier known as Aluminium Oxide. However certain environments, such as living on the coast, near a river, swimming pool or industrial environments, can produce cases of galvanic corrosion. Exposure to heavy grime deposit and atmospheric pollution, e.g sulphur compounds or salts, will quickly corrode your frames and cause visible deterioration if maintenance (cleaning and removal of deposits) isn't carried out regularly.
