Hummer H3 P0856 C0240 SRV 4WD Fault Brakes Traction Stability Repair Help - FIXED
Hummer H3 2009 with Ghost.
Starts and Runs, but errors in first couple of minutes resulting in errors recorded. Vehicle perfectly fine after. Reproducible on every start. No power loss or other issues after the error state.
When you start the H3, ABS and Brake lights come on. The items that don't work during the initial minues upon start are:
Brake lights (except for the center brake light), Blinkers, Windshield wipers, AC/Heat blower fan, and several dash controls like 4x4 buttons.
After about a minute or so (after startup), everything starts working and the dash lights disappear (errors) and the H3 then works without a problem. Rarely, although it happens, it's only the first minute after vehicle start. It has in the past done this during driving.
I have cleared codes and they come back. The brakes have also been purged, refilled, and bled. The battery is new and the battery cables have been cleaned properly.
I have pulled the ECBM cables and the BCM cables to reseat them while checking for any corrosion. Although perfect, I still sprayed with recommended electrical contact cleaner, but no difference observed.
Code scanner confirmed wheel speed sensors are working via live view. Seen a Range Rover with nearly same indications, but everything was resolved with the rear left speed sensor for $20 on amazon.
Any ideas?
-----------------------------------------------------
Yes - As strange as it might sound, replacing the stock battery connectors resolved the issues. This seems to be a common issue; however, the stock connectors were perfect (cleaned and no corrosion) and the battery terminals were perfectly cleaned as well. Once replacing the connectors with cheap $10 amazon connectors, the vehicle has had no more issues.

I have the codes for stability track , abs , brake fluid….. this problem started after I replace a front passenger caliper , but when rains the water come in to the interior and wet the floor….. what do you think????
Any answer?
@alakrang.7775 I have the issue with ABS and stab control system when it rains. I have a sunroof. Any suggestions?
Inspiration for my ten-segment idea -- added two vertical segments in the middle of one of those 8-segment "hourglass" displays :-)
I'm confused here? I have the CatGenie 120 model. What's the purpose in buying your device if you're just going to refill the cartridge with your own cleaning solutions? What function does your device exactly do?
This is for the CatGenie 60. Not the 120. So, the device is useless to you. The catgenie cartridge is expensive and stops working at 60 wash cycles. (Yours at 120). If you fill it with a cheap watch solution, like Simple Green Pet Solution, it still will not work. The chip in the cartridge must be reset so the unit thinks it is a new cartridge. Again, this will not work for your CG120 in which case you must modify the actual main unit with a chip to make it believe you have a full cartridge. To be exact, the device resets the cartridge to believe it is new/full.
Will this work with a Cat Genie 120?
No, it will not. The CG60 uses contacts and a chip in the cartridge. The CG120 is wireless and the chip in the cartridge can't be changed other than to reduce the number of remaining washes/cycles/cleans. This means the a CG120 unit must be opened and have a chip installed to bypass the factory wireless/chip method of keeping track of remaining washes.
number "9" in normal 7 segment display is lowercase q
or lowercase g if you include the bottom segment.
My dumbass think it will say 10 instead 0
Suggestions have been: Front Wheel hubs (speed sensors) - We have confirmed they are working and live data from the scanner shows speed as we drive. So, they are not open/shorted. A landrover tech said it could be intermittant; however, the problem would only throw codes if going more than 4mph. So, these errors make send IF moving the vehicle; however, the code is immediate on start up and happens 100% of the time (without moving). Another suggestion was PCM/ECM; however, contacting 2 different companies that program/replace them indicated that the PCM would only affect the engine driveability and not the lights, horns, turn signals, a/c, etc. BCM suspect. Have removed, reattached, cleaned contacts, reseated both cables several time, and found G320 (pulling passenger seat) and removed/cleaned/reattached. Problem still remains.

@@VoltageGoat I just want to know how much it cost .
@@howardmiller4241 When available, they are on ebay. Between $75 - $100
@@VoltageGoatoes this work for the new genie ? Or is this for all the older models ?
@@howardmiller4241 The title shows that it is for the CG60 and it shows the green cartridges. This works for the CG60 and green cartridges. It does not work other brands or other cartridges.
I like this one! I mean, that's 2 segments more than required, so it's a bit easier. But still, this one's great!
I emailed you.

Nice! If I can ask, where did you get those displays from?
They show up on ebay from time to time. Actually, that's probably the only place you'll find them, but harder now since most come from Russia.
I need a link to get this device . Thanks

Impressive, very nice
Can you use the old style cartridges in a CatGenie AI?
Sorry, no you can't. The design is slightly different and the old style uses contacts whereas the newer style is NFC. There is no way (that I know of) to reprogram the new style cartridges; however, you can modify the CG120 head unit itself instead of the cartridge. Again, to answer your question, the cartridges are not interchangeable between the different units.
How do u modify the cg120 head?
Not easy to contact you. I've tried
Hello. Not sure what you mean. Today is the first email I got from you, but your email didn't mention what item you wanted that we make. Now I understand your email and will reply.
Good to see that you're working on this new project. Would you happen to have an estimate about when it will be available to purchase?

The price on the thumbnail this video upload is $41705.07, as I would understand.
That is correct. At the time of the video (specifically that thumbnail), the price was $41,704.07 and the time (being displayed on the second one via changing the mode with a push button on the back) was 1:59:58 (13:59:58) 2 seconds prior to 2:00PM

Nice one M!

I have a few of these but haven't hooked them up... How long do you think these displays last? Afraid of burning them out.
I have had my clock running for about 6 months now. When I unplug it, the displays show an obvious difference from the areas that don't light up. I don't know if this is good or bad or if they are 'wearing out'. They seem fine to me. I don't know the expected life of them.
This look awsome, for me way better the rewiring an expensive CatGenie!!!
:) No warranty voided by opening the machine.
@@VoltageGoat yes....and should work for the AI model too!

Where do I get this?
Where did you get so many?
Assuming you mean the B-5971 tubes themselves. - eBay. The same seller I bought from a while back still has them up for auction/BIN. As for the controllers, I ordered boards from JLCPCB and the components from Mouser/Digikey.
@@VoltageGoat i did mean the tubes, nice! (How much were they?)
@@nixietubes At the time I bought them, they were about $50 each. They are now around $80ea. Buying a set of 6 is the cheapest route if you can find anyone selling them. They are more rare than B-7971 tubes which I like better (because of the size), but those are about 3 times the price (although more readily available). Controllers will run about $25 for each tube.
@@VoltageGoat yeah its a bit pricey, ive got a b7971 and smartsocket, there's actually some univac driver cards (12 avail) on ebay rn for $50/ea shipped with 5971s installed
@@nixietubes You should get them before they're gone. The univac driver isn't the same as the smartsocket. You 'could' use the B-7971 Smartsocket to drive them, but the code will need to be modified which was done long ago. Take a look at the google groups - NeoNixie (groups.google.com/d/forum/neonixie-l )
that non-standard one is really interesting. does it do letters any better or is it just a novel number display?
That one is known as the 'Alien Font'. Yes, you can make letters, but not really the entire alphabet. Remember, they are from Russia (USSR / CCCP), so it was really designed for Russian Alphabet (Cyrillic ). It does do numbers well though and is great for a clock. :)
@@VoltageGoat I can see (especially if a pair of center vertical elements added) the letters of the English alphabet represented quite well, but the Cyrillic would still miss some of the characters but the vertical elements would enable others :-)
@@VoltageGoat As a newbie russian speaker, I like the design. Confused how Ë and (this is latinized, so bear with me) I Krotkaye will function.

Thank you.
I have a bare IN12 clock that i have been trying to figure out a cool looking case for it. Well, now I know what I am going to do. Thanks for posting this up. I do love the tickers as well. I will have to take a look at them.
Thanks. It's a fun build.
Love it. I would imagine it gets a bit noisy after while. Still prefer the gentle hum of a Nixie clock.
Actually, as time goes on, you notice it less and less. Just like the hum of Nixie or the train in the vally. Also, having added Sorbothane to the plungers on the coil has drastically dropped the sound as well. Agreed, still not something you would want in the bedroom although not that bad since you would set it to be off at night (mine set to 10pm to 7:30am in a sleep mode). I have about 50 completed circuit boards - will post on www.pinballclock.com
You're tha man!!
Pretty cool! How does it know the absolute position of the dials?
There are contact switches which open in the 0 position. So, the clock cycles on power on to determine the 0 position of each reel. During that process, it pulls the time from the RTC (DS3231M) and if it knows the Wifi password to get to the internet, it also syncs with NTP and then sets the time on the reels.
Thanks, I see! Just out of curiosity, does it need the WiFi password to extract the time information? I would have thought that this info is available to everybody, even without the password. Cool project!
It needs your Wifi SSID and password in order to get out to the internet to get the time via NTP. That said, it doesn't require this setup since the RTC is there. The DS3231M is rated to gain/loss about 60 seconds per year. Accurate enough without NTP. When it starts up, it creates it's own access point which you could use to connect with your phone and set features like time, date, sleep mode (stop wheels at night), etc.
It's unique and really different. The controller looks pretty solid too. It looks like it's got a serious cap on there. Pretty neat stuff Michail.
Power is a 2 line 12volt which combines to 36 volts. Hard to find SMD rated this high. The cap is 50v to be safe. This also ensures that it can provide enough power to not only the 25volt version but the 50volt coils as well. I have the materials to make several of these and may list at www.pinballclock.com
