Road To AAPEX Ep. 4: How Modern Automotive Repair Shops Have Evolved
Automotive repair has come a long way, evolving from its humble beginnings in blacksmith shops to the high-tech environments of today’s repair centers. What once involved manual labor and oil-stained books now benefits from advanced diagnostic systems and streamlined processes that make life easier for technicians and shop owners alike.
Technicians at Automotive Customs in Valley View, Ohio, for example, no longer rely on cumbersome paper manuals or scattered notes. Instead, they work with comprehensive digital systems that allow them to quickly diagnose issues and identify common faults in vehicles. Follow Joe Keene, an ASE-certified automotive technician, as he goes into the bays of Automotive Customs to see how technicians seamlessly move from diagnosing fault codes to ordering parts and estimating labor times in real time.

zhlédnutí 100Před 21 hodinou

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It’s a common adage we hear in the corporate world to keep processes moving. But for tinkerers, taking apart something that isn’t broken is all part of the fun. They want to see how everything works when it ain’t broke so they’ll be able to fix or modify it later. Business owners and managers also need to be able to tinker - with their own companies. TJ White, g...

"You can have any color as long as it's black." Henry Ford’s famous words may have stood the test of time, but it’s the automotive aftermarket that took the first half of that “any color” quote and ran with it. Paint technology has come a long way from the early days of black-only Model Ts to today’s diverse color palettes and advanced formulations. The Road to AAPEX journey through automotive ...

Being a pilot is a lot like being a business owner. Not only do you have the unique privilege of seeing everything from the 10,000-foot view, but you’re also steering the ship - or plane, rather. Of course, that comes with its own set of responsibilities. While you might have a trusty copilot in the cockpit with you, much of the onus of leadership falls on you, and that can be difficult to asse...
Audra Fordin: Empowering Customers With Auto Knowledge

The reason customers seek out auto repairers is because they can’t - or won’t - do the jobs themselves, right? So it might seem counterintuitive to educate those same consumers about automotive maintenance, lest you lose a potential revenue source. However, Audra Fordin, owner of Great Bear Auto Repair, is dedicated to educating both women and men about preventative maintenance in order to make...

Thanks for this video. All the others tell me what I already know. I just purchased a 2016 suburban with 2 working transponder keys. Wanted to have additional spares so purchased 2 blanks online. Had them lazer cut but the locksmith was unable to program to the car. Your video suggests he should be able to see how many keys are programmed using a scan tool. Is this correct? Any suggestions? Thanks.
you didn't explain how button works, no more donuts for you for a week!!!!

I like your garage, dude! 🙃 Good info, thank you for posting it. I’m changing my truck’s brake pads and was wondering about whether or not to buy (IF I can find them) new hardware / pad mounting clips. This vid helped me decide to go ahead and buy them. Next challenge is finding them - I bought the pads but it came without the hardware. 🙁
Ok, I see you have the same intelligence as a beef steak. Good job, you earned a thumbs down.
Can I get a bad oxygen sensor reading if I have a clogged air filter?
Reminds me of mr wilson from dennis the menace when he replaced his teeth with chicklets
Thanku for this video...maybe u should do a utube.🤷🏻♀️
Just found out I have a cabin filter...😢after owning our car 5yrs. It was loaded with black mold.i was breathing it..omg...please tell more folks Pass it on. Especially woman don't no it's there.❤
TIP -- Don't try to go cheap on your caliper grease!! I use Permatex Synthetic Brake Lubricant, $25 for 8oz. My Ranger went a year between brake inspections, had the good grease on the slide pins and the hardware, still slide the caliper back n forth by hand! Have used cheap grease before, brakes failed, the grease looked like dog turds and nothing was lubricated!!
Just FYI for everyone I have a 2012 cruze . Changed the oil at 8.5k and olm 20%. According to blackstone I could have drove it another 500 miles before tje tbn became low. The tbn was at 1.6 low is 1.0.
Oh good god!! When MLS head gaskets 1st came, the big selling point was that they could be re used! Don’t shit a shitter!
Worthless waste of time video
Wix has offshored most of their products. Lots of different owners over the years.
Well done video - good content and production.
So believe it or not, my cabin filter from Amazon does not have any arrow. how the heck do if figure out which is the right way to put it? I am guessing flow is "downward". So I can look at one side vs the other of the filter to figure this out? Maybe color? I have a toyota highlander FRAM filter
Spray on liberally pb blaster the day before. Next day warm up the cat then spray on more pb liberally, then bang the sensor with happier several times. Do that three or four times. Sensor will loosen up now. I used the o2 sensor wrench available for free use from autozone.
The solution is not to lug your engine. Downshift when you need power!
Terrible video.
He is right, we all have to keep up with the changing technology, and the automotive part is certainly no exception. However, our tools are so expensive to buy and transmissions are so advanced today, R&R a reman is a smarter move for profit, like the topic. 👍
I came to this video after replacing my rear struts on a front-wheel drive car. The outer edges of the rear tires are down to the tread-wear indicators after only 20,000 miles because the rear structs were on their way out during that time.
Haha are you joking man ? And you give your name too, Do You feel proud to tell me to read the manual ..
I have positive High LTFT & STFT, LTFT %26 and STFT 18%, STFT increasing with high RPM and LTFT degrees with High RPM but not gose less than %18 whatever RPM, Example, LTFT %26 and Change to 18% once touch accelerate paddle and stuck at %18 even if 6000 RPM, I made smoke test but no leak at all Replaced Valve cover including low pressure fuel pump with filter Also changed intake gasket but still same symptoms, Last thing replaced Bank1 sensor 1 O2 sensor, You think bank1 sensor 2 O2 sensor causing high fuel term or something else ?
I believe I have a bad wheel bearing. As I drive along I can turn the car to the left and it stops making noise. I continue on and turn to the right and it stays the same. Not much louder but it doesn't go away like it did when I turned left. Does that tell you anything? thank you for your video
Thanks Peter Griffin!
how much it's cost in the Phil.?
My RV head gasket just blew out, this should be interesting and expensive
is this a joke video?
