Driving down from louisburg nc to play this course Tuesday morning. Ive played tobacco road and and several others in the area and until today id never heard of this place. When my buddy said you wanna play quail ridge? I said you mean hollow? And no im not driving 3 hours to Charlotte. Lol. He just giggled and sent me the tee time confirmation

me and my dad helped with the renovation of this course mainly with the landscaping and removing of all the overgrown pine trees. my grandma lives on this course and i grew up playing it and im so glad to see it how it is today

Very interesting Video there's so much info on how to make a putter. I'm in the process of making myself a putter out of stainless steel.( My 1st attempt) I did get a mate to square up a billet on his mill and angle the face at 5 degrees and mill the back off so I started with an "L shape" I then compared 2 of my favourite putters and a recently very cheaply purchased Scotty Cameron and designed it from there. I then basically attacked it with an angle grinder with a cutting disk and, a stainless steel flap wheel disk, and a linisher. I was aiming for a head weight of 350-375g I just need to do some final sanding and blending before polishing and I'm at 380g. For ease I opted for a bent offset shaft so that I only need to drill a hole perpendicular to the top face ( and heel) Positioned that so the lie angle of the shaft points to about where the head balances( or actually slightly behind so that there is a slight toe hang) I still need to open the hole out as most of my larger drill are no good for drilling stainless so I'll take it to work and do it at lunch time. So by next weekend I'll be either stroking 20ft putts in like a pro with the best putter ever or I'll be wondering why I even bothered..

My advice...don't rush it. Be able to allow some time for bad weather. You don't always have to play the famous courses, although they are all great. I go for 15 days at a time and play 6 to 8 days.

We have a 4 day golf run in a few days. We played there in 2022 and the first hole stymied a few of our guys who hit it in the wrong place. didnt go up the incline and the ball rolled back past them. great course. we play it the 2nd day of our trip this year

So on that advice we should be fine with 9 rounds over 22 days! Culture days here we come!
