This is my favorite Van Halen song.I think lol. They have a lot of great songs
Eddie, Mike and Alex saved Dave because he missed the place he should have started singing so the 3 of them had to circle around and give him a second chance to start the first verse.
Fantastic !
To me, their prime years. Before the $$$ and mountains of chemical abuse.
Sammy sang his @ss off ....Geez what a singer
Hi, 2024. Bye
They don’t make ANYTHING like this anymore
Anybody that watch’s this footage and says Sammy was better does not deserve to be a vh fan!!!!!!
And now Dave is the opening act for Wayne Newton....
One of their top 5 songs.😊
They used to play these live videos of VH all the time on MTV in the early '80s. That was when MTV was good.
What a singer
Their first album is the best!!! 😂❤❤❤❤❤
Great band with Dave or Sammy. Micheal is so underrated.
I was still in school when this came out
i wonder who 's got that original VH lighted stage backdrop setup That is a relic the kind you never see or hear of so long after...
they cut out over an hour of playing
That song is so powerful! And unfortunately it still needs to be heard.
What a song . I l say number one
Sammy sang a few DLR songs like You Really Got Me, Jump, and Panama. Did he ever sing Oh, Pretty Woman and Dancing in the Street from 1982's Diver Down? Those were originally sung by Dave. I'd like to know what Sammy and Mike sing this year on their tour in July and August since they are playing more VH songs as a tribute to Eddie.
Sammy man, Wow does he sound good. Gotta laugh though, he is dressed like a WWE wrestler.
ONLY EVH COULD BE INSANE ENOUGH TO DESTROY THIS!!! THEY COULD HAVE BEEN THE NEXT ROLLING STONES IF THEY HAD KEPT IT TOGETHER! EVH WAS AN IDIOT!
I agree Larry!
When Roth wasn’t such an embarrassing ass clown.
Mikey with da moves and those dope lines and fills, can't play bass my ass!
Melhor fase do Van Halen!!!
Amazing how much Eddie elevated Sammy's art.
First four albums were the shit. Hard to compare.
DAMN .DAVE USED TO KICK ARSE LIVE. WTF HAPPENED. SAMMY STILL KICKS ARSE& HES OLDER?
Once a month or so MTV would play a cut from this concert video - So This is Love was the one I saw most often. Looked so forward to just see Eddie rockin' with Diamond Dave on MTV. LIVE. Not the beach movie version either.
This is a reminder that Van Halen was one of the greatest bands of all time, not just one of the greatest guitarists of all time in a band.
Eddie was from another planet along with Jimi Hendrix and Mike Bloomfield
Some say Randy Rhoads….
wonderful - VAN HALEN
This song is so under rated. 🎸🔥🔥🌡️
You have great taste in music 💯
R.I.P. Eddie Van Halen nobody cannot replace you and you’re a guitar god
I was there! 6 days before army basic training. Selling black beauties in line. Made a fortune!
Black Beauties!,,OMG memories, all I really remember is PURPLE MICRODOT, nothing after that…😅😂✌🏻🍻🇺🇸
Van Halen, is just simply amazing 🎉🎉. Their music 🎶 🎵 is freaking incredible 🎉🎉. They put on an award performance all the time. Eddie just slays it every single time .He's a musical genius 🎉🎉. You can jam up in heaven now, with some.of the other great icons who have passed away 🎉🎉
Eddie Van Halen is just a phenomenal performer and musician 🎉🎉. His talents are endless 🎉🎉. He brings something new that we obviously need. Ty,for your God given talent and your style and sound that you brought with you and the band. You are rock and roll 🎉🎉.
I can't take DLR seriously anymore. This is like karaoke
I got to see this live on the Balance tour. AMAZING
From what I've read , this is a mini-concert of some of the songs on the album FAIR WARNING . It was to promote the album . I wish they recorded all the songs . FAIR WARNING was the first Van Halen album to NOT have cover tunes . There was some arguing between Edward and overrated producer Teddy Templeman on wether there should be any cover tunes . I always thought So This Is Love was Valerie Bertinelli's because Valerie and Edward hooked up around this time . Its also the only song that was a pop and positive song in a darker album . Edward always said this was his favorite album , even during his Hagar era . One more thing to really piss off Captain Candyass 🤣
i fully understand that it is essentially human nature to have an almost gang or tribe like mentality, but I don't understand the Van "Hagar" hate. For Unlawful Carnage and and Balance specifically are phenomenal albums and Sammy's voice is just awesome. Personal preference is fine, so if you just prefer the Roth days to the Hagar days, I get it, to each their own, for me, Carnage and Balance just have better songs, and that's not discredit or discard the Roth stuff, but to hate on the Hagar days is just bonkers to me. Sure there was some "poppier" moments with Van Hagar, but don't act that train hadn't already started towards the end of Roth years.
I see Michael Anthony playing a 4 string Bass in performances of "Unchained." But he's hitting a very low C# during the verses, like he's playing a 5 string. That's the only way I can play that note, is with a 5 string! When I was learning it, I thought, do they tune down a half step or something? And then I thought, even if they did, you still can't hit that low note he's hitting without tuning the E string down to at least C. Cuz during the chorus, it's C#, E to B, and he's hitting those low too, but the low C# he's playing makes those other two sound bright! Sneaky Michael Anthony. Sneaky.
Michael Anthony swinging that arm all over the bass is incredible. He's the glue.
I'm pretty sure their concerts were longer than 14 minutes
💙💙💙💙
I'm pretty sure that they chanelled very Interesting Spirits.
Back when not everyone in the group could afford a shirt.
Best version of this song!! Especially Edwards solo
