This song has a few cover notable covers (including Roy Hargrove & D'Angelo) but the song originally started out in Detroit as 'I'll wait' released on Pat Lewis and also The Parliaments (Clinton's original doo-wop band)....

I've seen Lalah a few times now but I've not seen her sing this, one of Donny Hathaway's greatest. Not the best footage from up in the clouds but for me it was the highlight of the night.
