Today I show the power of 3D printing Warhammer for friends, using alternative models from @highlandsminiatures thanks to #WargamerResin
and their #MSFSE campaign (Make Something For Someone Else)
I decided to print out a bunch of Old World Warhammer proxies for @summonlessermaker a fellow creator and someone I would like to call a

    3:40 to be honest a lot of 33d models are just objectively better then GW models. especially when we are talking about old models. think of all the 20+ year old sculpts that may or may not be updated in 5 years if GW gets to making something new for your faction. you can just find a good artist that covers the faction you play and you don't have to wait 25 years between updates

  • @CuteAssTiger
    @CuteAssTiger Před dnem

    3:40 bro this is so painful to watch. FIRST. hit the clean function. that will create one solit layer that catches all pieces that could create problem . then filter off (or not . wouldn't be necessary. ) the resin in the vat . 3:55 you are scraping all these tiny spots away, fcking up the FEP in the process when you could just peel one solid layer off that ensures nothing bad will be left over. a lot less effort and way cleaner.

      I’m in the process of working for a tabletop RPG similar dungeons and dragons and mix over with Warhammer of a virus like plague, reminiscent of kind of resident evil but I’m not sure what timeline I’m putting it in yet either medieval fantasy or modern city style of the 1950s kind of reminiscing of Cthulhu like in the very early stages of producing this stuff, although I do have an immense amount of game mechanics so far created trying to streamline it for two different versions to a complex version for gameplay how the game is intended to be played, which is very hard and second version of the game is meant to be streamline version for more simplistic game mechanics of trying to survive And I’m trying to find concept pieces to create for all the different monsters and the people that you can pick between and different races with different classes and stuff like that. And cements amount of work and I’m only one person doing all this although I tend to get about 30 pages in a week and I have around 127 pages of rough draft practically done and I’m trying to go for a 400 page book, including custom magic items and all kinds of stuff like that, but I only recently started to think that, using STL files to create actual miniatures with trying to set up my own 3-D printing business coming up in the future I’m trying to find someone who would be decent at being able to produce an STL concept file and I can use that later to have it more refined as well as learning 3-D printing on a extremely fast pace scale at this moment trying to learn every little concept in and out resin cost legal. I’m pretty much trying to buy myself create a whole new tabletop adventure game. similar to Cthulhu tabletop games with sanity, but at the same time, easy enough like DND with more open, ended choices, and how you wanna play filled with random encounters and main storylines, as well as its own unique game mechanics to differentiate it as well as trying to steer away from copyrighted and licensed stuff, it’s literally gonna probably take me about. I’m guessing in realistic terms of being a dad of two kids and trying to tend to all kinds of other things two years to finally complete everything including getting everything set up for manufacturing producing shipping and possibly a go fund me if I feel like I’m big enough for that.

    • @NatesMiniatures
      @NatesMiniatures Před měsícem

      Not stupid at all, since this video using hot water and just dunking them for 20 seconds or so makes it so much easier to remove the supports. Not 100% sure with the freezing because then I am guessing the rest of the model might also be super brittle but it would need testing.

  • @SteveMichael
    @SteveMichael Před 2 měsíci

    So I don't play WH40k. I would like to give it a try. In fact I did, but I HATE assembling the models. One wrong clip and I ate too much money. when I had a guy who did play, show me to cut the arms off of the model, then put magnets in, so I could swap out weapons, I was like "I just wan to play the f'ing game and see if I like it". I was like $100 (US) in with a small Eldar (spelling) kit, and was hating it. Now I tell you this because I do have a 3d printer and I have printed a ton of miniatures I have painted for other games. "IF" Games Workshop sold me the complete freaking models that I could just click and print, then paint for a REASONABLE price, I might give this game a shot. So like I should be able to download say 2 decent armies of STL files, for say $100.00 (US). This should be say a 2,000 point army. Then I could print them out, and play with a friend. If I liked it I would buy more STL files from them. No more of the crap of "sold out". If a model breaks, I print a new one. Also the models should have the option of separate pieces OR put together. Now another thing I believe they should do is to offer models already assembled AND painted. So I and my buddy could go in, spend say $100 to $150 each and have a decent size army to play against each other that day. I am not saying 6 models vs 6 models. I am saying >15 models, of high quality and already painted. As it is now, if I wanted to pursue this game, I would buy their book(s), then download similar STL files to play with my friends. I may or may not paint them but I know my investment would not be so high and if I didn't like the hobby I could easily get out. If I liked it then I would push doing it with more friends. I realize I could go to EBAY and buy models already done, but I from my understanding of the game,, I would want to really figure out who is going to be in my 2,000 point army or even a 500 point army.

      Nice! I would say you can get a Elegoo Saturn 2 8k for cheap but if you can get a Saturn 4 for 300 euro that sounds like a good deal. As far as quality goes the Elegoo Saturn 4k can get really good prints, 6k screens tend to get a little better but that is usually where it stops. from 8k to 14k you will not really notice a difference in quality unless you look through a macro lens while painting. So if you can save yourself some money with the Elegoo Saturn 2 I would go for that, and it has been out for a long while now so you will have a lot of information on problems that arise from time to time.
