Morning mario The biggest reason for the cod not being as prolific As it was is a couple of reasons no more sewers pumping out any more. So in effect that has a knock on effect in proper bait , water temperature and clarity, so that's why the cod have got less and less. O I forgot one of the biggest is trawling far west of us here . But the result is much better summer fishing.

Ive found during a bit of experimenting, that i wasnt completely confident due to the way that the bait on a dongle sits so close to the point of the hook. Was getting quite a few missed bites. Tried the same thing with Varivas Catfish hooks. Was finding the same benefits with dongle ie no more swallowed hooks, but 100% hookups due to how the hookpoint sits nice and proud from the bait👍

Love St Davids. I normally fish about half way, where you crossed down the hill and back up, I go to that little beach and just up on the ledges to the left of the beach there, too old to walk the whole way now! Great for spinning there, caught a lovely rainbow wrasse a few years ago

@@IIIIMOOSEIIII I use spectra in 200lb. It's a cheap braid on ebay. No need to use anything expensive

@@djhubs6098 Hi mate, I don't know the area very well other than Chesil. But if you walked along Chesil with lures, no doubt pick up plenty mackerel and a couple bass if the bait fish are about

I use the heavy version for my general fishing and then drop down the the medium or light if I'm useing small delicate baits

What leader poundage and length do you use over that sort of mark ?
@@PaulFrancis-bj6vp I use an 80lb leader for all of my fishing and around 12 full terns on the reel. That will give you more than enough length

@marioasprou8548 I use a fixed spool so the length per turn is higher ? I have 8 turns onto reel plus a 7 foot drop to the lead ? That's four outstretched arms plus one arm length ?
Are any of these marks relatively safe to access? I really want to take my father to some but I can’t risk him clambering down some sketchy marks 🤣
