Nah, Siemens U-MHU-MCS horn strobes are louder. Don’t believe me, go watch my most recent video called “Summer fire alarm test at a school” those Siemens alarms are ear shatteringly loud.

Their louder than the speaker strobes.

Because they were all built within 5 years of each other and they were designed and constructed by the same architect and construction company.

@@Gentex_Commander_2 Yeah I can see the strobe isn't ADA and no reflector Xenon Strobe or LED strobe and 4.75CD which is lower than the 15CD or higher requirement. Also the strobe lens is not fully clear.

My middle school uses Gentex. We actually just had a fire drill today.

That’s the benefit of EST fire alarms. They automatically sync without the need for a synchronization module. Just about every other make and model of fire alarm device requires some sort of sync protocol in order to sync up fire alarms.

We have not done a January fire drill. I also don’t record every single fire drill.

If you replay the video you will briefly see me struggle to open the cover. Don’t worry, they are plenty secure. But yes I also prefer STI 2 stoppers with horn over the Sigcom stoppers.

@@Gentex_Commander_2the stoppers with the siren is much way better because of better protection against false alarms and again it’s easy to open the cover from the bottom

@@Gentex_Commander_2, it seems for a while in the early-to-mid 2000s Simplex had a preference for the Sigcom Sentry covers. There was a middle school near my old house that had a Simplex 4100U voice-evac system installed in 2003 with those covers, and I remember the piercing sound they made. Even after the 4100U got replaced with a Notifier NFS2-640 system, they kept the Sigcom covers. But since the late 2000s Simplex seems to have gone back to mostly using STI's Stopper covers, even if it's just for protecting pull stations in a gymnasium.

Yes, there will be a system test with this along with the genesis and 278B. I don’t know when but there will be one.

@@boydalexander4652Also correct. However these are my own personal alarms inside of my own personal home so it’s allowed. But yes you are correct, if someone pulled it in school, church, the mall or any other public facility then yes they could go to jail.

@@boydalexander4652Only pull alarms if there’s either a fire or you have permission to pull it for a test/drill.

@@Gentex_Commander_2 I guess since you can only activate those pull stations with the key, we can say they're Key Stations (Not to get keys, but to activate a fire alarm with a key).

I believe when the drill function is used the notification appliances do not sync. Being different for pull stations and smokes, they will sync

@@tkprod19 they’re supposed to sync regardless. Drill function doesn’t make a difference as it’s mainly up to NAC settings what is synced. Plus, it’s part of the fire code that all notification appliances sync up when activated.
