I dont hear anyone talking about shadow collective.... I am really thinking about getting into legion and id love to play shadow collective but are they just not a real army or what? Do they just suck?

Rebel Troopers are great on turn one, when they can't score. I took an AT-RT in a skirmish game and it died turn 1 and took my opponent 2 activations to kill it. White saves are so much worse with the current cover rules. Rebels are in a really, really bad spot and I think AMG made a big mistake with them in this edition.

Having known several of the staff at AMG, I know from their experiences working at Privateer Press that they really are afraid to call it a new edition because of how 3rd edition of Warmachine was received.

Putting recon on snows really ups their viability. I never had an issue with their speed and contesting objectives. Plus, they have a great round 1 threat range with the triple move

Using Garrison on the upcoming Imperial Riot Troopers would put them in a much better position to charge into the fray

Magnas from EXD was redone because all of the special issues for battle forces got redone - no changes on the Gnasp or HRUs, but because the battle force got updated, the cards got redone.

Before the changes, rebels were only doing well with crazy lists. It's no surprise to see them below average. I play them and do well with them locally. I was 3-3 at mkgt. I found they need another trooper in their trooper unit, they need+1 courage on vets, they need work on their command cards, Basically other armies play more like rebels than rebels do

One unit that was not mentioned was Droidekas the are 10 points cheaper and I think they are back I have been using 3 units and I just put the on a sideboard. They may not kill things but the provide suppressive fire and hold objectives

I keep trying to build other commanders, but every list just becomes Grevious & Kalani, they're just so good and relatively cheap, plus I feel like our operatives got worse by virtue of other stuff getting better.

I just wish they could get the game to a state where one faction wasn't so clearly superior. It rotates from faction to faction, but they can't seem to get everyone in sort of the same power level. Right now it is the Clones turn, but I really would love more parity between factions generally.

Quick armor thing: AAT had crit 2 natively on its main gun, but also gained surge to hit! Snail also gained an ordinance slot on both the ExD and regular version. Also both received minor points drop!

Poggle's 1 pip got so much worse tho. I cant be bothered to explain exactly why is a text based comment, but if you go through the scenarios where you'd use the old one and then the new one, the new one is just not anywhere near as powerful or impactful and more importantly for a 4 wound unit like him, it doesn't allow him to be as safe as before he could just do his attacks with fire support then jump away. The new one isn't terrible, but just not as good.

I’d like to see the transition from blind decks to original being able to see what’s next. That would be an easy fix that would give players a chance to feel more “in control” that way you. The one primary would definitely help out the table builders a lot for tournament settings that way your terrain felt like they made since

Ordinance and Strafing Run seem huge, IMO. Being able to prevent units from scoring for a round is great. It's dice, sure, but if you can put down the last amount of suppression needed onto a group of units at the beginning of the end phase and knock them off scoring, it can be a nice swing.

If either of you read the comments and want to try a far better game. Please give Infinity a try.

From a fun perspective I’ve enjoyed new rules. I just play casually with one friend but we play rules as if it were a tournament. We only have one game in of republic vs cis but it was fun and close

Tbf, the new cover rules only feel bad because you're holding onto an expectation of a guarantee. Just gotta let that go, friend.

one turn zero update i’d like is if you flip a primary or secondary that is the same as the one out, you get to flip again.
