    hey skillr boxing. I’ve just started boxing 2 days ago and the coach introduced me to the double end bag. I worked on my left lead hand jab and realized my whole left arm felt fatigued. Is there anyway I can work on this and make my jab feel effortless? Thanks so much!

    Hey skillr boxing , can you do one similar about footwork

  • @gwilli1754
    @gwilli1754 Před 19 hodinami

    Bivol is an elite fighter and Russian boxing is very specialized to boxing. Russian fighting has been set up to get Olympic points, but then masterfully adapted by Bivol for pro fighting. He is able to give the same punches, either with great speed or great force depending on circumstance, always with great precision. Amazing! He does this by adding to punches hips, and forward momentum when he goes for power or even taking away momentum or even loss of balance when going for speed. Same punch, very different physics behind it, makes it very tricky for boxers who do not understand how for example his jab can be vastly different even through it looks the same. Also, his ability to be so fluid, not tense up, and generate power is exemplary, can deliver so many more punches. Now for the the counter strategies: none are from boxing, and if they are in boxing, please let me know. Russian fighting is forward foot linear, and back foot rotational, so that is a weak point that can be exploited with the right toolset. Counter step, approach with right side seems counter intuitive since it increases distance, but it also takes away his jab, giving a counter measure, so creating an ambiguity to control his jab and enter on the right side will be the first goal. Then the right footwork with either a right sweep or block, so that Bivol's R foot is caught up in the attack. I am guessing that a frank sweep is illegal, but a right block is probably not, if it is planted well. So, it would look, like wrestling R jab down, entering through the R, and goal is getting to Bivol's L armpit for control over Bivol's L side, with wrestling goal of having Right upper extremity right below Bivol's L armpit. Now, here is the hard part, Bivol has an extraordinary R cross, it is so powerful, that he can knock opponents out while breaking his own balance! So, this dangerous entrance would need to control for Bivol's R cross/hook, luckily I have not seen him use R uppercut, which is the most difficult punch to defend when controlling Bivol's L shoulder. Now Bivol's fluidity serves him right in boxing, but not so much in fighting that is not boxing. So, every time when a boxer is in, do a partial Grecoroman takedown, just using Right upper extremity and upper body to really load Bivol's back, ie push R shoulder below Bivol's L armpit, R arm behind Bivol's lower back, to punish load his back. Then, finish the load with 3 different moves, either a scoot below R hip, pick up and pivot and release, which is meant to break Bivols balance and release him off balance (old JuJitsu technique, not widely used in MMA, not even Judo), or R foot block while breaking his balance to the right, to have him land over non present L side, or lastly release, uppercut and repeat back crunch. I imagine that judges would pick up on L shoulder control followed by osoto gari or kosoto gari would probably be caught by judges, but if one can get away with throwing away Bivol's R foot, the more often the better. Bivol would end up hurt badly by his own training, because this flexibility would be severely punished by the wrestling moves to his back, because he trains for this amazing core flexibility, and in a multiple bout fight it is his weak point, abuse his core flexibility and he is done. L foot going forward and back is a weakness, as well, but not in boxing, unless somehow it can be controlled in going forward and back, or countered with side to side, which again, I don't see how in boxing that can be achieved. Disappointing to see elite boxers going nowhere, but to any mixed martial artist, Bivols' L foot and L knee, they would rightfully think of belonging to themselves, those would be gravely hurt. Another Bivol 'weakness' is that he gets power and speed by alternating side in punches, in controlling his L shoulder, Bivol's whole rhythm is thrown off, it fully depends upon Bivol getting away to unwind each side. So any routine that breaks Bivol's ability to unwind his L side, would be great. Good luck capturing Bivol's R side, I cannot imagine how that would ever be possible. I look forward to the day that boxing becomes more MMA like, inspiring to see more wrestling and JuJitsu moves, so that boxing becomes less sports and more actual fighting.

    12:06 In most 2D fighting games, "Overheads" are attacks that explicitly exploit openings from blocking low. A well-known example is Ryu from Street Fighter's forward + medium punch (Collarbone Breaker), which has a similar motion and purpose as Gennadiy's overhead punch: just when you think you're safe, this jerk just reaches up and blasts the top of your dome, cracking open your guard before mixing you up with a stiff combo. In a more realistic comparison, GGG's overhead punch also reminds me of Andy Hug's (RIP) notorious Axe Kick, which worked on a similar principle: most sport combat styles simply don't prepare for attacks coming from directly overhead, and defending against such an attack often leaves you wide open for other attacks. Even if he never knocks anyone out with it, the mere threat of the Axe Kick made Hug's opponents flustered, and a well-timed feint could leave them open for body shots or his equally infamous Hug Tornado (a spinning kick to the legs). GGG clearly used his overhead punch to fluster his opponents to similar effect (or in the case of folks like Marco Antonio Rubio, lay them out entirely).
