I will make mistakes in my videos, the hope is is that if I provide transparency to my research process and sources, people can make up their own minds after the fact.
I’m always trying to make my coverage more accurate, but due to the scope of some projects and my emphasis on densely packed scripts with lots of sources some corner cutting is sometimes inevitable to meet deadlines.
I hope once this channel grows to a sustainable point I can take more time with videos than the usual 45 days.
Btw, the name IMPERIAL just comes from when I used to play Skyrim - it definitely is not an endorsement of imperialism lmao.

Swiss cash is one of the few currencies designed in the vertical format, standing alongside the likes of Canada and Bolivia. But why did they opt for the vertical in lieu of the horizontal, and why does the general design of the Swiss Franc look so weird?

I lived in Spain for 5 years. I went to university in Madrid as an American student. I ended up staying and getting my bachelors there. What I noticed is that there’s a significant population who are proud and talk openly about their family ties to the dictatorship. I went a school where many of the Spanish students were from upper class families. I’d oftentimes find myself shocked when I’d hear the comments of my Spanish peers praising Franco. Many of the elite/wealthy still praise the regime and teach their kids to do the same. Feels like many on the right (not all) are the ones that want to forget while still praising Franco. Hard to forget when you have people constantly reminding you of how “good things use to be”. Reminder, they weren’t great times lol. Just my humble opinion I’m not here to offend or draw anyone’s ire.
Brezhnev is now contending with that man. It's not going well for Brezhnev. ☠💀☠

You should send the edit to the Swiss goverment.

How dare you compare that place to the paradise which is the Democratic People's Republic of Korea!🇰🇵
Maybe it is not worthy to comment a video from a year ago, but I felt moved to do it. And maybe you will find here something to speak about in future videos. Firstly, sorry for my English if I made any mistake. 1 - One problem with Spanish Civil War national perception is the 40 years judgment made by Franco's regime after the conflict. Known as "Causa General Franquista", it was a judicial procedure for condemning the "republican criminal acts". A huge summary that collects thousands of "republican crimes" before and during the conflict. Of course, the judgment was made without any garatees and most of the cases are made up or changed to picture the republic as a monstrosity. It is a judgement to justify the Franco's revolt and communicate a picture of justice and transparency that gives some legitimacy to the regime. Many Spanish right-wing writers that speak about the Republic use these documents to justify the coup version of the conflict. The weight of that narrative built by Franco's government was not really publicly dispute until 2004 Zapatero's government. Even today, if you read any historical book at school, this narrative still remains as a "two sides perspective" (besides most of the times it is a fake one). For that reason, many republicans push even today for recognition and justice over the Franco's regime. Not just because they don't forget it. It is because there was a full fake judicial procedure over the republicans and any repercussion over the coup plotters. Plotters that, in fact, even today are the main part of the elites in the country. 2 - In my opinion, one of the things that Spanish civil war represents is a consequence of a loooong period of imperial identity crisis that even today remains alive. There is a problem to construct a common national identity after the falling of the Spanish Empire. A process that accelerates after 1898 Cuba's War, known in Spain as "Crisis del 98". The nation of Spain is built at the same time that the modern state and emerges almost at birth as an Imperial superpower. So, saying I'm Spanish meant more or less the same as "I'm British". Part of your national identity is a multi-kingdom territory united by a common imperial crown. When the powerful empire disappears, the reason to gather around an imperial crown lacks of sense and if we are not part of an imperial crown... What are we? Remember, we came from a multi-kingdom structure, you are from one region that cooperates with others because the imperial power. If there's now imperial project in common... The nation starts to crash between "nationalities". I think Brits will suffer a similar process in future: the crown will be in question more and more, and the different part of the kingdom will demand more and more political independence. Spain has historical events to build a common narrative that could unite the country. But the problem is that most of them collide with the work done by the Borbon's House: Independence National War against France, the 1812 constitution, etc. So, Spain lacks of a moment that The People, as a State-Nation, recognize itself as a People sovereign responsible of its path in history. France has the Frech Revolution, German the unification, Italy the same, even UK has the English Civil Wars... But Spain never managed to agree in one. So even today we have heavy pro-independency regional movements. Franco's failed in building that common narrative too because he exposed a picture of a nation that no more existed, a picture of an old powerful imperial nation. The problem is that there's no Spanish Empire anymore. So not everybody will buy you the national-pride speech when they are demanding political power.
Another in the endless list of examples of Soviet evil. Brezhnev and the bootlickers around him were utter scum. If this had happened in a western country, you'd have Leftoids screaming about "muh capitalist greed". Interesting how they're oddly silent this time.
Yes, it was terrible. But not nearly as bad as it would have been if the Reds had won.
@14:44 -- wasn't Soyuz a *space* craft? Not an aircraft.
Liberals never disappoint 😅😂 especially if the explanatory video is from the UK or some English speaking country. Once again your propaganda is trying to weak the great Spain still hiding in the conscience of Spaniards.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for the cosmonauts of the old Soviet Union. These were all very brave human beings who lifted off from our world to explore the void of space, and Komarov was one of the bravest.

7:40 you are right, what they should do is build 10,000 museums just about the civil war and having events every month were they take school kids to cry and remember the anarchist freedom fighter
