Surrey has the highest ratio of countryside to urban land than any other county in England. Although it borders London. True but tough to believe. That's why it's so expensive to live there.

Guildford ? desirable yes but a village it is not. Now it has a cathedral it's a candidate for city status.

Takes me back a long way. My Ex wife's mother ran a riding school in Tilford. Lovely village and an easy drive to my parents home in Farnham.

There is an old rail poster inviting Londoners to travel to Surrey. Labelling the county as the Highlands of London. It certainly doesn't disappoint. My wife is or was an ardent West Londoner. Not no more!! We're both countryphiles now!!

Hey great video, thanks... I was wondering... If you look at 1:29, the top left corner has so much white it's as though it's washed out.... I'm sort of an amateur in video, but I would think decreasing the highlights/increasing contrast would make it a little better but I know there's gotta be a better way. What would you suggest? Thanks!

Been looking for ages now, I once came across a video of Surrey (90% sure) and it has a small island with roughly 30 homes, was used as a holiday destination by Londoners in the 1800-1900 and eventually houses were built,now worth millions. Any idea what it's called? Cheers

Visited Trieste last year on the way from Venice, and it is really underrated! Probably because it is a bit geographically isolated. It is a beautiful city with both canals, hills, Austrian architecture and Roman ruins.
