The year 2008 marked the 100th anniversary of the song "Take Me Out To The Ball Game". To celebrate the centennial, featured here are some 7th Inning Stretches from active ballparks, or those that are either no longer in use by MLB, or only exist in our collective memory.
Fenway Park 7th Inning Stretch- June 24, 2024
The 7th inning stretch from behind the Pesky Pole at the Red Sox - Blue Jays game of June 24, 2024. Interestingly, with only the fans singing, (no audio over the speaker system), you cannot make out the song until it's halfway done.

Why is the video quality look like it was made in 2018
That stadium was trash, but the smell of hot dogs and greasy fries were great, the cheap seats felt like a mountain, and when Shea was packed and the Mets won, the cheers multiplied the sound in on itself, and the upper deck would shake to amplify the magic. That stadium made the fans matter, the food was decent, the prices were ok. New Citi field is like a fancy food court where all those choices are just over hyped food for too much money, and as hard as you try you still can’t buy French fries as good as the ones they used to sell at Shea.. the journey to get food here now can be like a multiple inning odyssey, and by the time you find your way back to your seat after getting scammed out of all your money, you missed half the game. I miss Shea, and I won’t be going to citi field.
my dad was at the game. wish i was alive to be in shea. my dad did always say, “it’s just wasn’t meant for you”
Why got demolished???🤔👀
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
It was a dump but it was our dump gone but not forgotten 1964-2008
Why demolished ??
My grandpa took me to shea when I was little
Mets played tougher at shea
Absolutely
Lot of good memories at that park ❤
Can you imagine this was replaced by a parking lot? Barely even a plaque to commemorate the old stadium. At least Citi bucks the general trend towards modern mediocrity by being an excellent replacement!
"I'll make a parking lot out of this place"...
I saw the WWF "Showdown at Shea" in 1980, and with that ticket I picked up a simulcast ticket to Duran-Leonard I for $20 the day before the fight, turned down $150 on the way in for the same ticket.
the proper way to watch this would be from the platform leading up to the 7 train, which gave a perfect view of the mound for people looking for a quick exit without missing the game. God I spent so much time in this place as a kid.
back here once again to sing with the best fans in the world. my relatives victor and kathy sold the team to the banks. fuck the banks; banks ruined baseball!
It must have been so surreal watching the last season of baseball at one stadium with the outfield view being the exterior of the new stadium
Why was demolished ?
Beautiful goodbye to Shea Stadium
It’s even better with seeing that parking lot filled with cars in the background than citi field
Looks like a football stadium
Since Shea was a multi-purpose stadium, The Jets used to play their. That explains why.
I was there at shea goodbye. I cried
Going to Shea as a kid is one of my best memories. Miss it a lot.
Just like that shae
That sounds really great. I know that they have an Allen Digital Computer Organ at Nationals Park, not something unlike what that company has installed in many churches as one of the best alternatives to a real pipe organ, due to its pipe modeled voicing and much more affordable and somewhat more portable than a real pipe organ (which are all built into the buildings themselves, well, except only the smallest instruments that are free standing).
It sure is something how well these stadiums that are fully enclosed with multiple decks hold the sound and make the music sound so much better. We used to have Tiger Stadium in Detroit that was similar in how the music reverberated all the better when compared to the ones now with the more open outfield configuration.
My first game was at shea it was me my grandfather, mom and dad that went to the game. It was in July of 2008 against the cardinals. My grandfather use to get tickets through his company. It was a great day they ended up winning and it was really cool. Still kind of miss shea it was a dump and me being 5 at the time I could barely walk up the steep upper deck stairs but it was such a fun day really made me fall in love with baseball and the Mets by going to that game.
Rest easy Vet.
BRING IT BACK!!!!!
I always got back from a baseball game! And I usually go to met games
Not often I pull up something that was posted 14 years ago. Aww teen years.
The Phillies were completing their 33rd year at the Vet and the Eagles would have been completing their 33rd year if they elected to play at the Vet in 2003. They said absolutely not as the field was unplayable and they made sure the Linc was up and ready for play in September of that year. Phillies had one Word Championship in 33 years. The Eagles were zero for 32. That a really putrid one win for 65 seasons. They could not implode that place fast enough.
Sounds like the dodger stadium organ
I remember being so heartbroken by the team that i could stomach going
i miss Shea so much, thank you for posting!
The most wholesome videos are the videos we’re everyone gets together and enjoys a good game of baseball am I right?!
Wow!!!! What a beauty. Of course lipstick on a pig makes it look better. My charming pig is Three Rivers but I also made friends with The Vet , and River Front, some of best of the 70's and 80s'.
The way that Paul Richardson played Take Me Out To The Ball Game on the organ sounds very similar to how current Dodgers organist Dieter Ruehle plays the song.
The fact that shea stadium was right next to citi field
I saw my first baseball game at Shea Stadium. June 11, 1965, Dodgers vs Mets (Don Drysdale vs Warren Spahn - Dodgers won 2-1 on a 7th inning home run by the pitcher Don Drysdale).
Let's go mets
I miss the dump we called the vet. Place had character.
Damn I had so many memorable moments as a teenager in Loge Level of old Yankee Stadium. I would always make it on Jumbotron thanks to Cotton Eye Joe and the rest of the guys who controlled the scoreboard
Interesting how it’s the same music piece they use today, some things never change. This is always a fun part of the pirate games.
Organist Vince Lascheid passed away back in the mid-late 2000s or so. They were able to record some of his brilliant work, including his distinct rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", and preserve it. Those recordings make up all the organ music you hear in PNC Park today.
Such bittersweet memories! I miss Shea. I have “Lazy Mary” as the ringtone for my sister in honor of the many 7th inning stretches we shared at Shea.
I'm Italian, what does a wedding song have anything to do with baseball
@@cherokeepride1972 it’s a tradition and probably inspired by all of the great Italian Americans that made baseball great
was at that game and seeing videos from the old place makes me a little sad.
Second stanza....
I love this video... On soo many levels!! Thank you!! I miss Shea..
Scott schoenweis can get bent
It’s as if Citi Field is looming over Shea Stadium saying “my advice to you would be is to pay attention to me.”
I miss it
Great memories
Who ever those 5 Yankee fans that turned the thumb upside down. Just remember Baseball started in Brooklyn not the Bronx... Strong Islanders
But it was perfected in the Bronx!
@@HudsonDiTomasolmao the Yankees are a Baltimore team anyway
