EPRI Develops Cutting-Edge VR Training Ecosystem
EPRI has developed a new VR Training Ecosystem which can be used for training that is either instructor-led, or self-paced. The instructor, trainee and ghosted trainee observers have full body avatars that are capable of real-world gestures and voice communication. Trainees can join the training from anywhere in the world through the internet and using either a Meta Quest headset or a PC. The applications not only provide training, but also testing, remediating missed items, and maintaining all statistics. Management observers can join the sessions from anywhere.
Application modules include:
• Industrial Safety - FME Counter, Open Turbine Site (FME), Work at Height, Lead Exposure,
Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, and Turbine Deck Free Roam
• Compression Fittings - Introduction, Preparation, Assembly, Disassembly, Reassembly,
Assembly Test, Disassembly Test, and Reassembly Test
• Corrosion Product Sampler Filter Change - Introduction, Corrosion Filter Collection, and
Filter Collection Test
• Tool Safety - Introduction, Screw Drivers, Hack Saws, Striking Tools, Files, Power Drills, Power Saws, and Pliers
• Lab Safety - Clean Side, and Hot Side
• Crane Demo - Team training can be done virtually with realistic physics built in. The potential to take a pre-job brief to the next level!

I learn new concepts at these EPRI Pollinator Party presentations. Today: "natural capital", "supporting pollinators pollinators during this (national) energy transition", "biodiversity and biological footprint", taking inventory of species (biodiversity) rights of way", and how business can categorize these ecosytem values and costs into capitalization, as opposed to backending these costs into conservation and mitigation". Thank you so very much.
