Damn, I think this mission can really be hell if the yellow ai gets trampled. I invaded blue three turns later than you, but Vitja had a much, much, much larger army because her and Peridine had roll over Hammond.

I waited around turn 40 to move north. Everthink had 24 upgraded cannons. No matter what, at that point, it's GG

I've been using this video as a step by step guide to attempt this campaign mission and its not possible. When engaging the Rana they have a significant force as opposed to what's shown here. Obviously its been patched to be harder to the point I believe you'd need a specific build and no small amount of luck to achieve victory. Fantastic series though.

Man, what did they change in the last months I wonder? I'm on this mission on only "Worthy" difficulty, turn 23 (7 turns before your fight with the mage), but in my game she is like 3x as strong as in this video. 2 10 stacks of Necromancers, full stack of Oathsingers, almost 2 full stacks of plague rats, and a stack of Toxicologists. Not to mention, she can cast two Ruptures per turn (while still casting basically anything else she wants, it seems) in my game, and they do about double the damage I'm seeing in this vid. On a lower difficulty, fought even earlier. I actually don't get it.

Hello, I'm really surprised at how quickly you capture cities at the beginning of the game. Could you share your save towards the end of the game?

Guards are MVP. Those guys can tank anything apparently.

You could probably gather your forces at the Rana town you captured at the end, build a ton of guard towers there so Merkoth doesn't attack you and then build research buildings there and in Datepalm Oasis. Pass some turns until you got enough resources to build a full army and then it's you with research against Merkoth without research. Loth cannot reach the southern part of the map, so the area Nimander is in is completely safe. Not sure what happens when Loth captures all beacons (I assume you lose?), but you should be strong enough to fight him until it gets to that point. A better route in general would be to buy a stack of Hellbreaths for Everthink and Nimander to defeat the dragons, maybe a replacement or 2, and then replace the building with research. Hellbreaths aren't that good after the dragons are defeated, so the Factory is essentially a wasted build slot. They just lose vs the Loth Justice spammers and High Legions are Shielded as well. I did it like you tho and just grabbed the beacons when I realized I was outnumbered.

man im trying this on Fair difficulty and those Baryan champs got WAY scarier armies. cannons all over the palce absolutely annihilates anything i try. i dont know how to beat them at all.

Yeah I think I made a mistake by not building the shamans until way later. Made things WAY harder. Took me forever to properly expand

Crazy how hard Rana is to kill.

You can also choose to fight Aleah, the fight is doable if you fight in the settlement. It doesn't really give you any advantages, her artifacts are meh and you already hit the experience cap anyway, but there is additional dialogue. You are also free to explore the map afterwards, no additional time limit.

Great job. Always wondered how to beat this map on very hard. Tryed two times but failed. Had the right idea with rushing Barya in the north - you just killed them around 20 turns earlier than me :D Rana seems pretty much unbeatable on this map.

I had to try the first fight like 20 times. Is there something that triggers the Hellroar to move on the first round?

Nice playthrough, will be watching as soon as I finish my own playthrough to avoid spoilers :) How come the spells you are able to cast don't show up automatically, is that some setting or just that this was recorded on an older patch?

Like the choices you made to build up skills before command... I was struggling with getting wrecked in some of the battles. Would be great if you added some narrative on your strategy. Cheers!

thank you for max difficulty. I don’t understand players who play strategy games on minimum difficulty. I have watched a lot of videos on CZcams, all still play on fairy difficulty.
