Back at it again bringing you the stories behind these funky italian fellas (Even the ones that didn't show up between vods) NO PARTY is based on the Mario Party DS Anti-Piracy screen created by Joey Perleoni on youtube, wherein you would have to trace your apologies on screen before DJ Hallyboo attacks and ends the game before forcing you to power off the DS. Bonus fact, this one is actually my personal favorite song from this mod! Powerdown and Demise are based off of the Mario 85' PC Port, where a boy named lucas finds a cursed port of Mario for the PC and gets sucked into the game before being brought face to face with MX, who chases him all the way back through level 1-1. The luigi head you see in the back is a referenc to the game over screen of the original game. Promotion, Abandoned and The End are all references to Mario 64: Classified by Greenio on youtube, an Analog Horror series about SM64. Promotion is a reference to one of the original scenes in the series, and while at first you're just playing against Mario, the character you see after the whole vibe changes to a first person perspective is technically a different character named Stanley, a Personalization AI who gained sentience and wants nothing more than to die. Abandoned is based off of Classified's telling of the L Is Real story where in one frame you can see a dead Luigi floating over the Fountain in Wet Dry World. The End is based off of a picture from the series titled "The End", where if you squint you can see Mario standing in the back. The mario you fight against in The End is apparently named "Custom". ALL-STARS has a bunch of characters so I'll try and keep this concise. The first and last character you play against is named Ultra M, who's basically the big head honcho of the marios. The character you fight against in Act 2 is named Omega, who I admittedly don't know much about other than the fact he's there to distract BF while Ultra M kills GF. Act 3 is of course just BF and GF battling while Ultra M sings in the back. Unbeatable is based off of an old Nintendo commercial from Australia for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was widely seen as being kinda creepy for the weird voices and stiff, unnatural movements. EDIT: forgot to mention, the things that Stanley and Ultra M say when they speak in their songs are as follows: Stanley - "You never listen, do you?" "We were given life" "We chose to rest" "We were forced to linger" "It isn't fair..." "...But they didn't care." *"DO... YOU?"* Ultra M - "Can't you see now? We're one soul stronger, and you are alone! You can't win, so why do you still FIGHT?"

I ascend from above to explain some of these weirdos in the order they appear It's-a-me and Starman Slaughter are based off of a picture posted on (i think) tumblr by an artist called Shadowshana, the line Mario says in the cutscene after Starman Slaughter, "Mario get you next time", is written on the original drawing and actually comes from Mario Kart So Cool is, of course, based off of the voice cast reveal for the Mario movie, and the name "So Cool" is based off of how Miyamoto describes Chris, saying "He's so cool". Nourishing Blood is inspired by perhaps the best reaction to anything in gaming history, being Vargskelethor Joel's reaction to the title of a bootleg flinstones game, named "7 Grand Dad". MARIO SING AND GAME RYTHM 9 is based off an old fangame called "Somari" which basically took Sonic and replaced Sonic with mario. It was well known for being... Well... Awful. Alone is based off of an old story where Luigi was too cowardly to enter the mansion, resulting in Mario being trapped forever. His design is based off of the old game over screen for Luigi's mansion, and the hanging BF is inspired by a visual bug with the lights in the game, where Luigi would appear to be "hanging" from certain angles. OH GOD NO and I HATE YOU are inspired by the I HATE YOU creepypasta and subsequent ROM hack, where in Mario goes through a handful of bizarre and disturbing rooms before coming face to face with Luigi on a bridge above a pit of lava, who reveals that he has been working with Bowser out of jealousy of living in his brother's shadow. The song OH GOD NO is based on what Luigi screams after you knock him into the lava, and the charred luigi you fight in I HATE YOU is inspired by the final screen of the Creepypasta. This one is funny because it was originally made to poke fun at overused tropes in creepypastas! Thalassophobia is inspired by an old rumor surrounding Mario 64 called L IS REAL 2041, where people speculated that Luigi could be played and unlocked in the original SM64. The sign on the fountain in the game was borderline illegible thanks to how bad the textures were, but someone speculated it said "L IS REAL 2041" and made a few videos on it. This one was actually apparently revealed to be true recently! Apparition is based off of Mario 64: Personalised, and the Wario Apparition is probably the most well known character to appear in that series. He also takes inspiration from the old commercial for Super Mario Land 2, where Wario tries to hypnotise the viewer to defeat Mario. Last Course is actually based on an OC made on twitter, the story basically goes that Mario, while walking through the woods, stumbled upon a mushroom that was corrupted with Yoshi's Code. Mario, unaware of this, ate the mushroom and kinda turned into a Mario/Yoshi hybrid, warping his mind into a mixture of Mario and Yoshi, being incredibly loyal to his friends (Luigi, Peach, the Toads) and being disliking of Bowser and his minions while combining that with Yoshi's tendency to eat his enemies. This mario, in all incarnations of him, is named "Turmoil" Dark Forest is inspired by an old ROM hack called 'The, more commonly known as "CORONATION DAY". I don't remember too much, but the gist is that Peach wanders into the forest and presumably gets possessed by a strange entity, and Mario goes in after her to try and rescue her before everything promptly goes to shit. (Definitely check this one out, it's REALLY cool) Bad Day, as it says in the description, is based off of Super Bad Mario. It's basically a compilation of people falling of getting into small accidents like slipping on something, and editing Mario into the clips to make it look like he's the one causing them. It's a funny series, and I recommend checking it out! (The Leitmotif around halfway through the song is from the song "Levels" by Avicii, god rest his soul...) Day Out... Well, you already know that one. I doubt anyone *hasn't* seen Luigi's Day Out. Dictator is based off of Secret Histories, a series by Mashed showing the various "other sides" of certain characters/series (Tails being an obsessive psychopath or Megaman being more tragic than expected), and in this case Mario is depicted as a cruel dictator with a hatred of competition. The scene playing out in the song is actually a remake of what happens to Sonic in the animation. Race Traitors is based off of Racist Mario, an old animated short by Flashgitz wherein Mario is sick of Non-Nintendo characters being allowed into Mario Kart, and thus starts killing everyone off one by one until he is eventually killed himself by Kratos. No Hope is based off of "Power Star" by Dsun, an old newgrounds series wherein Mario gets possessed by some Boos who use his body to seek out the titular Power Stars and gain complete power, and forcing Mario to kill anyone who gets in his way, including Luigi and Peach. This version of Mario has been named "Devil Mario" or "Power Star Mario". (Recommend checking out this one too) Golden Land was actually made entirely for the mod! The creator of the mod did eventually flesh it out a lot more, and the mario you fight against is named "GB". He's your standard stuff, being a twisted sadistic psychopath who enjoys toying with you before killing you, but is much more frightening by having the ability to enter the Real World (Which he doesn't do since it makes things "boring"). Additionally, he's actually best friends with Turmoil! Paranoia is based on "The Virtual Files", an Analog Horror series starring "Mr Virtual", the mario you fight against. His story is that he used to be a circus performer known as "V" who hated his life, so he burnt down the circus and became a Serial Killer. Eventually he was tracked down and shot in the back of the head by a detective, and his soul was trapped within the nearby Virtual Boy console, wherein he discovered many things he could do, such as trapping other people in the game with him, and also taking over their bodies after they had died. He planned on using this to get back at the detective that killed him. Overdue is based on "TOOLATE.EXE", a fangame wherein Mario is going through a grieving process after accidentally causing the death of Luigi, and said Luigi comes back as a vengeful spirit to haunt Mario. At the end of the game, Luigi declares that he forgives Mario, before dropping him into a pit of lava. The ghostly mario you see in the mod, as far as I know, is named "THE FORGIVEN". (I'll probably explain the rest once you've done them) And to wrap this all up, I only just discovered your channel and I'm already really loving it! In particular I love how sudden and visceral the reactions on your model are when something like Luigi appeared in Thalassophobia, or Mario appeared in No Hope.
