    this isn't gone in 60 seconds or Eleanor. the real one was by an independent film artist name h.b. halicki in 1974 with a 71 mustang sports roof dressed as a 73. there was no remake, that was nothing more than stupid hollywood trying to mess up a good franchise at the say so of his wife whom he hadn't been married to I bet 6 months. r.i.p. hbh.

    • @TheJer1963
      @TheJer1963 Před 8 lety

      +Aziz Lamar Hollywood does this a lot. Movies like what they call remakes of The Wild Wild West and Walking Tall. They need to leave well enough alone. I am glad to have been around for the first ones.

    • @71plymouth.
      @71plymouth. Před 8 lety

      ***** yep I know, I've got a list of shows and movies stinking hollywood has stepped over and made fun of what the original stood for but these stinking modern times are revolved around that sorta crap: gays,etc. Hollywood should lay off and let us enjoy childhood shows in peace without seeing crap like this boring us. Yep I wish I could have came up in the 70s when times were better,they're almost bad enough now that they aren't even fit enough to raise a baby in. It really makes you shake your head and look around and say ''what is the world coming to''? Yep +1 to your comment and thanks for your thoughts.

    • @71plymouth.
      @71plymouth. Před 8 lety

      ***** yep hahaha that in my opinion was the greatest era. Muscle cars,wild clothes, better music,good times all the good times. Now what do we have to look forward to: nothing but crap. There's no more good music,good clothes,--good cars,and sure isn't no Good Times. Almost brings tears to my eyes to have missed the 70s--no it does bring tears. Ow well I didn't have no control over that and I'm glad to be alive period,but its these stinking times,and that's why I don't watch TV. I have my DVD player and watch old shows all the time, I can't stand this gay crap all over TV and stuff and women half naked posted all over the screens,subliminal messages in cartoons for kids...and it goes on and on... yep I'm glad I bumped into someone who came through the 70s and see how the good times fell off the map thanks again BIG +1 to you.

    • @TheJer1963
      @TheJer1963 Před 8 lety

      You are so welcome again my friend. At 52 years old now I really do look back and have some great memories. I spent 1979-82 playing drums in a country band. I do agree that tv and music today isn't worth a crap. I know country music pretty much died for good in 1998. The only have good tv shows today are NCIS and The Last Ship. I don't watch much else. Girls back then didn't have a butt the size of an air craft carrier either. I don't know what they are thinking these days.

    If you loved the car so much you would have just built it. Anyone can build this car if they have the resources. Because you wanted to get the license from the franchise, and therefore make a profit from the cars you're building, you obviously don't like the cars and you see them as a pay check. You're no better than a used car salesman.

      @larrysmith6797 Před 8 lety

      +TROOPSOFODIN88 No he didn't. He "licensed" Unique Performance in Texas to build them. Unique got into trouble with the Attorney General and was shut down because they were swapping VINs. Toby Halicki's wife and Shelby got into a lawsuit because Shelby thought he had the rights to Eleanor even though he had nothing to due with the car except for the Shelby badges. Shelby made the original GT500 in the 1960s. The original movie cars were all Mustang GTs.

    Movie cars have there angst. but a few just got it all regardless. this is a hot car. and lets not forget its first a Shelby G500 then its been recreated by a few of automotive most notable car guys.. Chip Foose,Steve Stanford, Jeff Mann so its not just any movie type car, it was built by the very masters at the hotrod game. thats why its so appealing, its actually real and authentic. no different than say warnerbros hiring lockeed to build a movie jet of an f16 with a real f16 as its base.

    • @stephenwachinski5696
      @stephenwachinski5696 Před 9 lety

    • @xevious2501
      @xevious2501 Před 9 lety

      indeed a real shelby is a real shelby, but truth be told, the REAL shelby doesnt look nearly as good as the movie car. Remember the tweeks and mods done for the movie car is what transformed the car dramatically. the original Shelby mechanics said the movie car is what the real car shouldve looked like. regardless when you see this car in person it really doesnt matter the car is HOT!. seriously HOT!! its a prime example of what the underlines the real design idea of the mustang. you clearly see why so many companies copied its design, including aston martin.

    For an $140,000 or $180,000. You can get this car at auction for $90,000 (including commissions) or buying it off of someone for less than $80,000. These guys got caught swapping VINs so I don't know how you could ever trust them. Also the dashboard is different in the movie. There are plenty of replicas made of this car. 11 Cars were made for the movie 3 were used and of those 3, 2 were destroyed. The other 8 cars sell for $250,000 depending upon if the person wants to sell. For $180,000 why not just buy an original for $300,000 and it will retain its $250,000 value instead of dropping to $80,000. Original sold at Mecums in May for $1,000,000.

    • @giantnardman
      @giantnardman Před 9 lety

      I tried putting a 351 m code into a 94 Mustang. Way too much work. I swapped the 5.0 for a supercharged 3.8 from a T-bird supercoupe. I later stroked that motor. I was getting around 360hp.

    • @Joe11Blue
      @Joe11Blue Před 9 lety

      giantnardman I've found the easiest way to put together a car like that is to have a space where you don't have to rush to finish it, and just take your time and just work on it over time. Otherwise it's overwhelming and far too much work. Gotta have that garage bay space and another daily driver so that you're not trying to rush yourself. With an EFI car, you literally have to strip it down completely and redo the entire wiring harness. The wiring harness is the hardest part in my experience. It took me two weeks to rebuild a wiring harness for an EG Civic back in the day. That was just for a track car that had no chassis harness. Now, I think I would pay some young guy with plenty of time on his hands to do it for me. LOL!

    • @giantnardman

    im sorry but they went way overboard on the "gone in 60 seconds " emblems everywhere there is like 10 that i saw and i was even looking for it, there is probably 30 if u actually could see the car in person , i think it just ruined it , shame . i wouldnt give them half the price they want for that car for a body kit and a 500+hp engine and all the gay ass logo's everywhere that the movie car did not have
